Inside the canyon, a ferocious beast's thunderous roar echoed, followed by the beast's rumbling footsteps rushing toward him.

The canyon wasn't straight; though it was somewhat dim and lacked much Demon Qi, Ye Liuyun still couldn't see any beast ahead, and the sound suggested it wasn't a single ferocious beast nor a herd charging.

He immediately drew the Demon Slaying Sword, ready for battle.

Suddenly, a dreadfully Demon Qi‑infused Taotie burst from the corner, letting out a howl toward Ye Liuyun and charging.

The Taotie's size dwarfed Lei Ming's true form, occupying half the wide canyon. Its realm wasn't high, only Sixth Layer.

The Taotie's massive body prompted Ye Liuyun to instantly expand his space with Spatial Power. He himself grew rapidly until his golden Buddha Demon guardian silhouette overlapped, then he charged the Taotie for close combat.

Although the Taotie's realm was higher, facing the suddenly larger Ye Liuyun startled it; after a startled cry, it immediately tried to halt its charge.

But Ye Liuyun used Spatial Power to flash in front of it, slashing with a single strike that cleaved it in two. With a gesture, he pulled it into the Storage Ring.

At this moment, a second Taotie rushed out from the corner. It looked at Ye Liuyun in confusion, realized his realm was lower, let out a roar and charged again.

Ye Liuyun kept his momentum, meeting it with a slashing strike. He then threw out the Metal Puppet, which followed behind him to collect the Taotie's corpse, while he continued fighting at the front.

Soon, more Taoties surged forward. The canyon was still relatively narrow for them; moving side by side they collided, so they could only attack one after another, which suited Ye Liuyun's killing.

He also deployed a Sixth‑rank short sword and a Seventh‑rank flying blade, using them to shield himself.

But at this point, the Sealing Demon Tablet could no longer endure and burst out of his Sea of Consciousness, smashing into a charging Taotie.
