Chapter 3553: Hard-Fought Battle

"There really are Demon Race beings here!"

Ye Liuyun immediately wanted to capture a Demon Race to perform a Soul Search.

But these demons are of far higher realms, and Ye Liuyun and his companions find it extremely hard to defeat them.

Ye Liuyun used Spiritual Soul Attack on several demons, but those demons seemed to have restrictions set in their Sea of Consciousness; when he performed Soul Search, the memories in their Sea of Consciousness were automatically erased.

Having no choice, he could only kill them. He also tried the Nine Nether Prelude, but those demons and Demon Beasts were immune to it; they already possessed it themselves.

The Sealing Demon Tablet was quite pleased, and took the opportunity to absorb a lot of these strong ones' power.

But on Ye Liuyun's side casualties were heavy; soon Qingshe and Black Panther were both taken down by these demons and Demon Beasts, followed by Xu Rong and his comrades.

The two Seventh Realm mercenaries left outside were also torn apart by Demon Beasts.

After Chen Yueying shot and killed an eighth-tier demon, she was pulled back into the Space World by Ye Liuyun. Lei Ming and Shadow, however, used Black and White Light to help Ye Liuyun eliminate many opponents.

But they also needed rest; after wiping out two demon squads, they felt strained.

Ye Liuyun had no choice but to release the Nine-Head Demon Dragon and Black Tortoise, using the Nine-Head Demon Dragon as his mount to protect its safety, and he again killed two demon squads.

Then he switched to Lei Ming and Bai Hu, and after holding on for a while, Ye Liuyun's side was left with only himself, Xu Rong, and the Metal Puppet.

Xu Rong has only managed to hold out so far thanks to the eight-tiered long sword he seized from Heihu Zhai, but his True Essence is already depleted. Continuing the fight would only be a senseless death.

Ye Liuyun pulled Xu Rong back into the Space World, and gave the Metal Puppet an infusion of Primordial Power to sustain its fighting. However, the Metal Puppet can engage at most two opponents at a time; the rest must be handled by Ye Liuyun himself.

Soon ten strong demons of the eighth and ninth tiers, mounted on Demon Beasts, charged toward Ye Liuyun's position.

Ye Liuyun also drew the Demon Slaying Sword, ready to give his all in the battle.

"Let's try a showdown with them!"

At the same time, he activated the Ten Thousand Poison Heart Sutra, spreading toxic fumes over his body, then channeled Buddha Light Power, causing golden light to blaze all over him. When the demons arrived, he and the Metal Puppet launched a coordinated attack.

He rushed straight at a Team Leader demon, and the Sealing Demon Tablet happened to press down on that demon. Before the demon could react, Ye Liuyun's incantation took effect, causing golden light to flare inside its body and erode its Demon Qi.

As the Sealing Demon Tablet pressed it, Ye Liuyun used Spatial Power to appear beside it and swung a horizontal slash.

The demon blocked with its weapon, and with a "swish" sound, Ye Liuyun's blade cut through it and sliced its arm. That slash was imbued with toxins and Buddha Light Power, so after the cut he need not attend to it and immediately raised his blade to strike another demon behind it.

The demon was about to counterattack when it suddenly found its mount empty; its Demon Beast had been shrunk by Ye Liuyun's Spatial Power. In its moment of confusion, Ye Liuyun delivered a head‑on slash.

The demon instantly raised a fist and hammered toward Ye Liuyun, but with a "thud" it was blocked by Ye Liuyun's War God Armor.

At the same time, Ye Liuyun's Buddha‑Magic Guardian Soul suddenly radiated golden light, shielding itself and deterring other demons and Demon Beasts from approaching. It also enveloped a demon and a Demon Beast, and a Qiankun Palm struck down.

The demon and Demon Beast, covered by Buddha Light, had their Demon Qi rapidly melt away, even their physical scales dissolved. While they were using Demon Qi to shield themselves, the Guardian God Seal delivered another palm strike infused with Heaven and Earth Power, and with a "bang" it flung the two away.

But at that moment Ye Liuyun was also blasted away by a demon. That demon's Spatial Power was stronger; sensing Ye Liuyun's approach, it struck preemptively, punching straight into the void and sending him flying.

Nevertheless, after emerging Ye Liuyun sustained little injury, as the attacks were blocked by his War God Armor. He immediately fired a white light from his Golden Pupil, melting the demon's head.

The demon tried to slip into the void, but its speed was insufficient

to match Ye Liuyun's white light.

At this moment a Taotie Demon Beast lunged at Ye Liuyun, while the demon atop it swung a spiked club at him.

Ye Liuyun's body suddenly shrank, slipping through the Taotie's belly, and the Demon Slaying Sword sliced open the creature's gut.

Before his form could recover, he released his own soul source into the demon's Sea of Consciousness, unleashing a burst of Nether Ghost Fire and potent poison, then immediately withdrew, showing no desire to linger.

A demon, seeing Ye Liuyun launch a Spiritual Soul Attack, seized the chance to send out its two soul sources into Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness, but Ye Liuyun did not react at all; his Spiritual Soul's Red Pupil cast an illusion on its remaining weaker soul, causing a slash to cleave its mount beneath it.

With a "boom" of great noise, Ye Liuyun's Buddha‑Magic Golden Body Guardian God Seal was blasted away by several demons and Demon Beasts working together.

Their combined Demon Qi also countered the Buddha Light protecting the Guardian Soul.

Ye Liuyun immediately withdrew the Guardian Soul for repair, then released his other two Guardian God Seals.

The War God Image Guardian God Seal used blade intent to block the demons' assault, while the Golden Dragon Guardian God Seal was tasked with intimidating the Demon Beasts. Ye Liuyun also swung his blade again, charging at another demon.

The demon was excited, ready to unleash a full‑force punch, but Ye Liuyun directly used his Golden Pupil, firing a white light that killed it, while his slash struck the Demon Beast beneath it.

At the same time, his Red Pupil Illusion Technique affected the Demon Beast, leaving it stunned for a moment before Ye Liuyun slashed it down.

"Shock!"

Then, without pause, Ye Liuyun used his Purple Pupil, shattering a demon's soul. The Purple Pupil consumes heavily—damaging the enemy by a thousand while costing the user eight hundred—but when unleashed at full power it is extremely effective.

The demon died on the spot, and Ye Liuyun's Purple Pupil‑infused soul source immediately shrank a notch, becoming shorter.

However, at that moment he could not worry about the drain, and was blasted away by a demon's punch.

The punch landed solidly, but the War God Armor bore the impact for him.

After being knocked back, he instantly vanished into the void, and when he reappeared he was again near that demon. The demon was startled, but Ye Liuyun's white light flashed onto it, leaving it unable to react.

When the demon died, the Demon Beast it rode sensed Ye Liuyun's location and turned to bite. Fortunately Ye Liuyun's foot was protected by War God Armor, and at the moment the beast clamped down, he slashed its neck, decapitating it.

At this point, his Golden Dragon Guardian God Seal was pierced by a demon's spear, but the Golden Dragon retaliated, striking the demon. Though the demon's realm was high and it seemed unharmed, it suddenly realized it had been poisoned.

The Golden Dragon carried lethal poison. Meanwhile, the War God Guardian God Seal, using blade intent together with Thunder Power, blocked other demons, buying time for Ye Liuyun and the Golden Dragon.
