Chapter 3559: Mutual Restraint

The Nine-Headed Demon Dragon's world‑ending black lotus continues to absorb Demon Qi. According to the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon, it is replenishing its energy. Lei Ming's Zhenmo Tower is also absorbing Demon Qi, but that is for the monsters inside to cultivate.

Ye Liuyun still lets the Metal Puppet go at the front, Qiong Qi stays at the rear ready to instantly draw a Defense Array. He again releases a Guardian God Seal to help absorb Demon Qi.

The two sharpening knives he has just refined also float around him, to prevent a surprise attack.

In the valley ahead, they were ambushed several times by Demon Race or Demon Beast, but all were eliminated by Lei Ming's Zhenmo Tower and the Demon Lion's bone‑piercing spikes, so Ye Liuyun didn't need to act.

The Sealing Demon Tablet also shows up each time to scoop up the spoils, snatching away the corpses of the slain Demon Race.

Soon they reached the valley floor, where a cliff blocked the path ahead. Below the cliff dozens of Demon Race and Demon Beast had gathered.

Upon seeing it, Qiong Qi, without waiting for Ye Liuyun's orders, immediately began setting up a Formation.

Ye Liuyun, however, paid more attention to a hollow on the cliff, where a human and a demon sat.

The human was a gray‑cloaked monk, looking ordinary, but his Golden Pupil could see Buddha Light radiating around him, resisting the encroaching Demon Qi.

The demon had bulging eyes, fangs, and pointed ears, looking grotesque, its body two or three times larger than the monk's. Yet its whole body was saturated with Demon Qi, countering the Buddha Light around it. It seemed the two were mutually restraining each other, neither able to leave first.

"Human, you have considerable skill to have made it this far!"

At that moment the demon suddenly communicated with Ye Liuyun via Transmission Voice: "I am the Giant Spirit Demon God! If you help me defeat this monk, I can make you the ruler of this Taixu World. My power far exceeds the Taixu realm; think carefully!"

At the same time, the monk also sent a Transmission Voice to Ye Liuyun: "You should leave, don't interfere in my affairs with this demon lord. Even if you slay all the Demon Race and Demon Beast, you cannot harm this demon lord.

The demon lord's Divine Soul Power is great; you are no match for him. Use the Sealing Demon Tablet for defense, to block its Spiritual Soul Attack; perhaps you can survive.

"Do not use any of its treasures; it can easily reclaim them!"

The monk kindly warned Ye Liuyun to leave quickly, not wanting him to die here.

Both of them judged Ye Liuyun's attitude sharply. Ye Liuyun immediately decided to help the monk.

However, having previously been deceived by the Nine‑Nether Underworld Demon, he this time carefully examined the two, confirming the Buddha Light and Demon Qi within them, lest he make a mistake!

After confirming his judgment, Ye Liuyun immediately launched a curse attack on the Giant Spirit Demon, and the Sealing Demon Tablet flew out, smashing straight toward the Giant Spirit Demon.

"You're courting death!"

The Giant Spirit Demon let out an angry roar.

Ye Liuyun didn't know what realm the Giant Spirit Demon was in, but its roar shook several people within the Formation so violently they spat blood. In his Sea of Consciousness, the Ten Thousand Gods Command felt only a slight tremor, yet he sensed dizziness.

Even as the Sealing Demon Tablet was rushing forward, it blocked many of the demon lord's attacks for them.

The monk also aided Ye Liuyun, loudly chanting a Buddha mantra, quickly neutralizing the demon lord's roar, preventing further injury.

Ye Liuyun immediately recalled the other few back to Space World, then continued to cast curses on the demon lord.

The Demon Race and Demon Beast on the ground surged again toward Ye Liuyun. Fortunately Qiong Qi had already set up a Formation, allowing him to hold out for a while.

Ye Liuyun stayed within the Formation, controlling two demon knives to attack, while releasing thunder spirit to assist those knives.

The Metal Puppet wielded the Heaven‑Devourer, joining the Formation to attack those Demon Race and Demon Beast. Ye Liuyun's three Guardian God Seals also manifested, cooperating with the two demon knives and the Metal Puppet in battle.

Within Space World, Lei Ming, the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon, the Demon Lion, and Qiong Qi's souls were injured.

After taking some Life Spring Water, they began to recover at full strength.

Ye Liuyun wasn't in a hurry to let them out. The monk had previously warned him not to use the Demon Race's treasures, so their emergence wouldn't be of much help.

The Sealing Demon Tablet now hovered above the demon lord. However, its grade is still far lower, unable to suppress him, yet it can somewhat affect his power output.

Combined with Ye Liuyun's curse support, the demon lord was clearly heavily affected; the Golden Light around him began to press ever closer to his body.

The monk seized the opportunity, unleashing Buddha Light at full force, dispersing the Demon Qi around him.

"Kid, if you don't stop, do you believe I'll kill you outright..." the Giant Spirit Demon again threatened Ye Liuyun, using illusion in its voice.

"Giant Spirit Demon, the karmic tie between us ends today!" the monk immediately shouted, breaking the Giant Spirit Demon's illusion.

"Senior, you need not worry about me; his illusion can't harm me!" Ye Liuyun sent a Transmission Voice to the monk, urging him to focus on the Giant Spirit Demon.

The battle now was highly unfavorable to the two; outside, the Demon Race and Demon Beast had already breached the Three-Layer Array. Ye Liuyun estimated the Formation wouldn't hold much longer. With no choice, he used his Golden Pupil to fire White Light, killing two Demon Race wielding high‑grade weapons.

The monk no longer replied to Ye Liuyun, but began chanting sutras.

The Giant Spirit Demon continued to cast illusion, tempting Ye Liuyun: "Kid, I can give you endless resources, treasures, women, lofty status..."

In Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness, the Ten Thousand Gods Command also radiated Golden Light, indicating the Giant Spirit Demon's illusion was powerful. Yet Ye Liuyun remained unmoved.

Since the Giant Spirit Demon had to split its attention to deal with Ye Liuyun, Golden Light quickly enveloped its body.

"Roar!"

It immediately let out a massive roar, its Demon Qi surged wildly, pushing the Golden Light away.

But Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil noticed that the Golden Light released by his curse at that moment dissolved much of the pure Demon Qi within him, and simultaneously the Sealing Demon Tablet abruptly siphoned a lot of his pure Demon Qi.

"Fine, damned escort monk, I consider this a win, I'll let you go, shall we cease hostilities?" the Giant Spirit Demon, seeing it would lose, immediately begged for peace.

But the gray‑cloaked monk acted as if he hadn't heard, continuing to chant Buddha.

"Before I was at fault, my words didn't count. This time my words will count; I will keep my promise, and we both withdraw our power, okay?" the Giant Spirit Demon again began apologizing to the monk.

It seems he had previously duped the monk, so the monk ignored him this time.

"If you still don't stop, I'll have to strike that human kid. Though I know I'll be wounded by you, can you bear to let him die because he saved you?" the Giant Spirit Demon said again.
