Chapter 3691: I Personally Enter the Battle
The Ninth Divine Son indeed placed his own people in the contest, but he also knew there were many who wanted to kill Ye Liuyun, so he simply changed his strategy, having his men try to force Ye Liuyun to reveal his trump card, letting those who wanted to kill Ye Liuyun make a move.
He also thought his move of killing with a borrowed knife was fine. In reality, those who truly wanted to kill Ye Liuyun found him a nuisance, thinking he was superfluous. But because he was a Divine Son, they couldn't confront him, so they could only wait until he caused enough trouble before striking.
After the Clone Puppet returned to the Li Family, Ye Liuyun immediately took it into the Space World, sending it to refine the Foreign Tribe's three eyes. Refining those three eyes in five days was a bit tight. However, to let the clone boost its strength, they could only see how the situation developed later and devise a plan.
If it really didn't work, he would fight a battle in place of the Clone Puppet; at first everyone couldn't discern his trump card, so even those who wanted to kill him wouldn't go all out.
Five days truly isn't enough for the clone to refine the Foreign Tribe's three eyes. Although he has experience refining such eyes, even at best it still requires five days.
"I'll go myself!" Ye Liuyun decided without any fear, and simultaneously notified everyone inside the Space World to prepare for battle.
Lǐ Chéngfēng was worried in his heart, but he also knew he couldn't stop him, so he chose to trust Ye Liuyun's judgment.
Li Qianjiao didn't realize the person had changed, but Ye Liuyun's Soul was linked with the Clone Puppet's, so he knew all the previous matters, wouldn't cause a misunderstanding, and certainly wouldn't let Li Qianjiao notice any difference.
Yet as soon as he entered the arena, Li Yuan saw through it.
"Huh? Why are you here in person today? Have you been at the Li Family all along?" Li Yuan curiously asked via Transmission Voice.
Ye Liuyun smiled and replied casually, "I just arrived the day before yesterday; watching the clone fight was exciting, I couldn't stay idle, so I came out to move around."
"Aren't you worried something will happen?" Li Yuan pressed.
"What could go wrong? They could never tell the difference!" Ye Liuyun still wore a smile.
Then after a pause, he added, "Only you saw the difference. If you don't tell anyone, no one will know."
He seemed to be joking, but Li Yuan was startled inside. Though he laughed outwardly, his mind was no longer on the conversation.
Ye Liuyun took in his expression completely, yet kept his smile on his face.
Li Yuan was a bit absent‑minded; even while watching the match, when Ye Liuyun chatted casually with him, he was somewhat spaced out.
"What are you doing? You won't spread the news that I'm here in person, will you?" Ye Liuyun suddenly asked Li Yuan.
Li Yuan's complexion changed at those words.
"Brother Ye, are you doubting me?"
Ye Liuyun grinned, "Just kidding, wanted to see you get nervous. If you have trouble, say it straight; I can help you, don't keep it bottled up."
Upon hearing that, Li Yuan's complexion eased, and he let out a sigh of relief inside.
However, he had no mood to joke with Ye Liuyun now. Ye Liuyun's guess was correct: Li Yuan was reporting to God King Wang Tianqi that Ye Liuyun himself had arrived at the arena.
He indeed, after emerging from the Monster World, was summoned into the Royal Palace, then subdued by the God King with a temporal aura, forcing him to sign a Divine Soul Contract.
The God King was now contemplating whether to seize the chance to strike Ye Liuyun. After learning that Ye Liuyun was not actually present, he had already drafted a plan; now, in a hurry to change it, he feared that if the preparation was insufficient and he failed to catch Ye Liuyun, it would only alert the enemy.
Moreover, after Li Yuan relayed his current conversation with Ye Liuyun to the God King, the God King worried that Li Yuan might be exposed. So he pondered for a while but still intended to follow his original plan.
After receiving the God King's reply, Li Yuan also let out a slight sigh of relief. He feared that if he were exposed, Ye Liuyun might retaliate. The God King not acting against Ye Liuyun now suited his wishes.
Yet he wasn't sure whether the God King had other plans or might act covertly. So although he felt a bit more relaxed, his mind was still not fully at ease.
Ye Liuyun, on the other hand, was very relaxed, having examined the strength of all the competing Martial Cultivators clearly.
Because his Token's serial number was still the last, he was the final entrant.
Yet today's opponent, as soon as the fight began, unleashed over forty Martial Cultivators, including as many as thirty who were in the Cave Heaven Realm.
But this time Ye Liuyun only deployed four strong ones: Gu Changhong, Black Tiger, Demon King, and Bà Tiān. Gu Changhong and Black Tiger first set up a Defense Array, then coordinated with Demon King and Bà Tiān to strike and kill Martial Cultivators who approached the array, and after killing them, they devoured their Yin Souls.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun never intended to fight; he simply used Spatial Power to shift Spirit Stone talismans next to the opponent's Martial Cultivators, helping them control those cultivators so the Demon King could kill them.
The talismans he used were mostly ones that immobilized the opponent or limited their power.
Although only four people were employed, their strength was the strongest he possessed. Moreover, the talismans' power was indeed overwhelming; even though the opponents wielded many high‑grade weapons, Ye Liuyun's talismans were more numerous, and few could break free from their bindings.
Once the binding talismans and power‑limiting talismans were applied, those Martial Cultivators became lambs awaiting slaughter, standing still for death. Thus, with just five of them, they ultimately killed all forty Martial Cultivators cleanly.
Though Ye Liuyun's revealed strength was limited, the power of those three puppets and Black Tiger gave the watching forces a clear sense of his capabilities. They saw that the few people and puppets not only won through talismans but also possessed considerable inherent strength.
While rune formations and talismans are relatively hard to break, given their influence and insight, they believed it wasn't entirely impossible.
Thus many factions thought Ye Liuyun was no more than that, relying mainly on his subordinates' fights, and apparently he didn't have many strong allies nearby.
After Ye Liuyun returned victorious, Li Yuan immediately followed up, "Brother Ye, you've exposed their strength; what will you do if other factions devise ways to deal with you?"
Ye Liuyun, feigning mystery, told Li Yuan, "I'm doing it on purpose for them to see."
Today he deliberately used a joking tone to provoke Li Yuan, and that feigned‑mysterious line was all bluster meant to confuse the God King behind Li Yuan.
Yet the more he acted this way, the less the God King dared to act rashly. In the end, Ye Liuyun endured through that day's contest.
"Hehe, since you won't act, I've gotten a cheap win! From now on you'll have no chance!"
After Ye Liuyun smoothly returned to the Li Family, he let out a long sigh.
In truth, he wasn't prepared to oppose the God King. If the God King truly struck, he had no guarantee of victory. Fortunately, his gamble paid off, and the God King didn't dare act rashly.
Yet because of this, he became even more cautious of the God King, knowing the God King would either stay still or, once moved, go all out.
