Chapter 383: Traps Everywhere
Ye Liuyun didn't know how to detoxify them.
His Ten Thousand Gods Command could only save himself, not others. Letting these people keep going mad would make them hard to control.
So he could only temporarily restrain their Souls to prevent the situation from worsening.
He must quickly find a way to cure this poison.
Ye Liuyun picked up the flowers they had dropped, sniffed them carefully, and indeed found nothing unusual. At that moment Hell Mingshe spoke up: "It could be a bewildering flower. I've heard of it before but never seen it. I only guessed because I heard the Yin Soul's cries. The flower alone doesn't stimulate the Soul; only when the Yin Soul's cries are heard does it get triggered, releasing the toxin and causing the Soul to become lost."
"Oh? If it's a bewildering flower, how do you cure this poison?" Ye Liuyun hadn't expected Hell Mingshe could help.
"It seems you need a pure soul water. Pure soul water is usually underground, and the Yin Soul sounds also come from below, so they might be together. I don't sense any Yin Soul inside the castle," Hell Mingshe told him confidently.
Ye Liuyun also sensed carefully; indeed the cries came from underground.
So he stopped hesitating and rushed toward the direction of the cries. In a short while he pinpointed the source of five or six sounds, but when he searched each, they all emanated through the castle's stone walls.
"How can we locate these Yin Souls? Even my Golden Pupil's spatial‑piercing power can't breach the Divine Sense defenses here. Must we tear the castle down?" Ye Liuyun asked Hell Mingshe, puzzled.
Hell Mingshe thought for a moment, then said, "Even if we demolish it, we might not find them. They exist as Soul forms, not bound by material things, and can shift positions at any time."
Ye Liuyun sensed the people inside the Storage Ring; although they were unconscious and slowed by the toxin, the situation was still deteriorating.
His urgency grew. He drew the Demon Slaying Sword and slashed at a stone wall.
With a "Boom" explosion, everything at the stone wall was pulverized into ash, leaving a huge pit below.
But the castle's foundation was clearly deep; he didn't know how many stones remained below.
While Ye Liuyun was frowning, a wave of mocking Yin Soul laughter echoed through the castle. Those Yin Souls tried to amplify the bewildering flower's toxin this way. However, Ye Liuyun's Ten Thousand Gods Command had already expelled the toxin, rendering their provocation ineffective.
Ye Liuyun knew this wouldn't work. He forced himself to stay calm and look for a solution.
Sounds swirled around, distracting him. Suddenly he noticed intermittent laughter or screams everywhere except one corner of the castle—a nondescript little firewood shed that had never emitted any sound. So Ye Liuyun slashed the surrounding stone walls a few more times, provoking the Yin Souls' cries.
In the end he confirmed that only that shed had never sounded. He discussed it with Hell Mingshe, who also suggested Ye Liuyun check it, since there was no other option.
But as Ye Liuyun walked straight toward the little shed, the Yin Souls responded: first a sudden silence, then a fierce roar.
Ye Liuyun's mouth twitched upward. "Looks like these Yin Souls aren't very clever!"
"Boss, don't let your guard down! I know these Yin Souls; this might be a trap deliberately luring you in!" Hell Mingshe warned Ye Liuyun immediately.
Ye Liuyun was stunned. If it were a trap, the Yin Souls' intelligence would be unusually high, their scheme almost flawless. If he kept slashing, angered by their mockery, he'd tire himself out and lose the chance to counter; if he entered the shed, he'd walk straight into their snare. Either way, there was no good outcome.
He thought and said, "Thanks for the warning; we can't rule that out. We have no other choice, so we'll follow their instructions and see if there's any clue."
Ye Liuyun himself wasn't really worried. With True Essence he could wield Buddha Light, and his Soul was already strong; plus the Ten Thousand Gods Command, so he wasn't concerned about the Yin Souls. What he needed to watch out for were Formations or traps.
The shed before him was also stone, with only a wooden door wrapped in iron sheeting.
Ye Liuyun pushed the door open.
With a "Creak," the door swung open, unlocked. As Ye Liuyun opened it, the surrounding sounds fell silent!
Through his Golden Pupil he saw it was a storage room, filled with assorted clutter yet spotless, not looking abandoned at all. Beside the clutter lay a two‑yard‑wide staircase descending.
His Divine Sense couldn't probe far, and the Golden Pupil could only pierce one wall, but he resolutely stepped in and descended the stairs.
After a few bends in the steps, Ye Liuyun discovered that behind the front wall lay a field of traps. Both sides of the wall were lined with poisoned arrows, and even the steps were filled with spears. Anyone without True Essence entering would have no return.
Ye Liuyun didn't rely on his Physical Body; with a simple True Essence Body Shield he easily blocked the trap arrows.
The deeper he went, the stronger the traps became. After moving further, he suddenly stopped; the wall ahead could merge together, and he wasn't sure he could withstand it.
Then a voice from below sounded: "What's wrong? Too scared to go on? I have pure soul water that can cure your friends' poison. You can retreat; the traps won't stop you. But your friends won't be saved!"
Ye Liuyun smiled faintly, released Hell Mingshe directly. Having found the target, the rest would be easier. The Divine Sense fluctuation he felt earlier was within Hell Mingshe's capacity. Yet he didn't let his guard down; he also slipped into the void, rushing toward the speaking voice.
As for the wall ahead, it didn't sense Ye Liuyun at all; he had already passed through.
Hell Mingshe also locked onto the target; the opponent's realm was roughly Tian Gang Third Level.
"Hell Mingshe!" The Yin Soul opposite gasped in surprise, but quickly composed itself.
"So what? In my domain, even Hell Mingshe must become my Kuailei."
With that, he summoned a horde of Yin Souls to pounce on Hell Mingshe. Those Yin Souls, like their leader, had indistinct faces, appearing as dark shadows. The only difference was size; larger ones were stronger.
Ye Liuyun surged forward then unleashed his Thunder Fire Domain, enveloping Hell Mingshe and all Yin Souls. With Blood Thunder and holy fire assisting, Hell Mingshe instantly broke free of the other Yin Souls. One of Ye Liuyun's golden‑armored Souls also leapt out, joining Hell Mingshe to charge the leader Yin Soul.
