Chapter 3836: The Power of Laws

Ye Liuyun and his companions found it rather difficult when devising countermeasures, because the Dream family could not investigate what rules the three Hédào Jìngjiè strongmen had mastered.

"Strongmen of the Hédào Jìngjiè have mastered the power of laws; some have mastered more than one law, so their combat power is especially terrifying, far beyond what ordinary Martial Cultivators can handle," Zhan Kong explained to Ye Liuyun.

The law Zhan Kong has mastered is the space traversal law, which belongs to the Dao of Space; it is not the entirety of the Dao of Space, merely a part of it.

If he could master a law like the space lock, he wouldn't need to approach Ye Liuyun; he could directly use the space law to lock Ye Liuyun and those around him, then shoot them with a bow.

Knowing this technique and mastering the power of a law are two different matters, and the resulting attack power differs greatly.

"So, if he has mastered a law of mass destruction, our casualties in this battle could be huge?" Ye Liuyun asked Zhan Kong.

Zhan Kong confirmed: "Exactly! At least you cannot break a power of this law level. Whether the painter and I can break it depends on the situation.

Even if a Skeleton Puppet could break it by force, not all laws apply. If it's a law of illusion, it would be even harder to deal with."

Upon hearing this, Ye Liuyun immediately ordered Qin Peng to halt the army.

"I'll send the Skeleton Puppet to meet them first. Let the main force stay put; charging directly is too risky!" Ye Liuyun also left Qin Peng with a thousand Skeleton Soldiers for protection, just in case.

Qin Peng replied: "Alright, be extra careful!"

After deploying a Warship, Ye Liuyun released three more large Warships, assigning Zhan Kong with a hundred Skeleton Soldiers to pilot one, the painter with a hundred Skeleton Soldiers to pilot another, and he himself together with a Clone Puppet and a hundred Skeleton Soldiers to pilot the third, masquerading as the main force heading toward the Moon White Xing Xi.

All formations on the Warship were activated; outsiders without Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil, which can see through, could not discern the interior.

However, he overlooked that the Inspection Department of the Moon White Xing Xi also has capable individuals, whose movements had already been monitored. Ye Liuyun did not notice a Martial Cultivator appearing tens of thousands of miles away.

At this moment the Martial Cultivator was reporting with a Transmission Talisman: "My far‑seeing eye will not err; that Ye Liuyun himself, with some puppets, boarded three Warships heading toward our star system."

Ye Liuyun on the flagship… on two Warships there is a Metal Puppet and a hundred Skeleton Puppets, looking identical to the Skeleton Puppets of the Hédào Jìngjiè they previously used; the realm is so distant they cannot sense it…

Their main force remained stationary, five large Warships…

Three days later, Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil also spotted an incoming Flying Boat. Inside the Flying Boat was a Martial Cultivator of Hédào Èrchóng, the rest were ordinary Inspection Department guards piloting the Flying Boat. He immediately ordered the Warship to stop and alerted everyone to prepare for battle.

"Just one? Do they intend to scare us off?" Ye Liuyun wondered about the opponent's intent.

He led everyone to disembark the Warship. Since the opponent was alone, once he recognized their realm they could not escape, and Ye Liuyun no longer needed to conceal.

Facing the Hédào Èrchóng strongman, he could not be careless; he needed the Clone Puppet, Zhan Kong, the painter, and the Skeleton Soldiers all to assist nearby.

Ye Liuyun's war god armor had already become visible on his body, the Clone Puppet wielded the Godslaying Bow, and Zhan Kong had laced his long sword with deadly poison.

At this moment the painter had prepared a sealing talisman array; once the opponent acted, he could use this formation to block. The Skeleton Soldiers were spread on both sides, ready to surround.

The opposing Flying Boat also halted at a distance. At this range, attacks from a typical Dòngtiān Jìngjiè could not reach the opponent.

Ye Liuyun thought the Martial Cultivator would show off, but instead he glanced this way, sneered lightly, then clasped his fists and slowly threw a punch toward Ye Liuyun and his group.

His punching motion was slow, while a True Essence fist in the air rapidly condensed and formed. At first it was condensed from the Martial Cultivator's True Essence, but then the fist began frantically absorbing the surrounding Heaven and Earth Power, quickly expanding.

"The law of fist intention's power. He's gathering strength!" Zhan Kong immediately saw the clue.

Facing that massive fist in the air, Ye Liuyun felt himself suppressed to the point his heart wouldn't even beat.

At that moment the Martial Cultivator's fist was about to reach its limit; with a roar he shouted, "Take my punch!" then his arm fully extended, and the massive fist in the air immediately slammed toward Ye Liuyun.

"Go!" Ye Liuyun instantly sent a Transmission Voice to the others.

The Clone Puppet instantly aimed the Godslaying Bow at the opposing Martial Cultivator, while Zhan Kong vanished into the void, though the punch's force slowed his speed slightly.

The painter quickly moved toward the punch, slashing a sealing talisman array, then continuously painted with both hands, repeatedly casting the sealing formation to weaken the punch's power.

The law power of this punch already far exceeded the Hédào Èrchóng's fist strength; even all of them together could not block it, only weaken it before acting.

The puppets on both sides immediately scattered, surrounding the opposing Martial Cultivator.

The opposing Martial Cultivator also felt the Godslaying Bow's lock. He hadn't expected the opponent to possess such a treasure. Greed flashed in his eyes, thinking this trip wasn't in vain and he could acquire another treasure.

At the same time he launched another punch toward the Clone Puppet's arrow. Though his law power was strong, his speed was insufficient; clearly he had not fully mastered the Dao of fist intention, otherwise he would be invincible.

He also knew Zhan Kong intended to ambush him from the void, but that arrow was even more dangerous to him, so he could only use this punch to block the arrow.

After he threw this punch, its force already cancelled much of the Godslaying Bow's lock, then he instantly flashed to dodge the arrow, also evading Zhan Kong's attack.

"Boom" rang out; the Godslaying Bow was briefly blocked, its force dropped sharply and its speed noticeably slowed. The evading Martial Cultivator then threw another punch, blasting the arrow away.

Zhan Kong's ambush only drew a bloody line across the Martial Cultivator's shoulder. After that strike they immediately retreated, not daring to meet the Martial Cultivator's punch.

Meanwhile, the strongest punch that Ye Liuyun's group was facing had not yet landed. The painter's formation had already severely weakened that punch, but the massive fist, infused with Heaven and Earth Power, had not dissipated.

"Go!"

Ye Liuyun gritted his teeth and used Space Translocation to shift the Clone Puppet and the painter out of the punch's impact; his war god armor manifested, hardening to absorb the punch.

"Thud" sounded as Ye Liuyun was smashed backward, yet he did not even spit blood.

The war god armor completely blocked that punch, leaving him unharmed.
