Chapter 3844: Grilling the Blue Dragon
But now that girl was somehow unaffected, and Ye Liuyun didn't feel any sign that the time stop had become ineffective. He still, as before, leapt out of the void fissure.
"Ah!"
Ye Liuyun was startled by the suddenly appearing girl and let out a shout.
The girl, frightened by Ye Liuyun's sudden scream, clapped her chest to steady her emotions.
"What are you shouting for? You scared me to death!" the girl retorted dissatisfiedly.
Ye Liuyun finally came to his senses, checking his Time Power while scrutinizing the girl with his Golden Pupil. To his further surprise, the girl vanished outright under his Golden Pupil's gaze.
He lowered his Golden Pupil and saw the girl again. This shows that the girl is invisible to his Golden Pupil.
And his Time Power was still active!
"Are you... a human? Or what are you?"
Ye Liuyun couldn't help but ask.
He thought the girl was too bizarre, not seeming like a person at all, perhaps an extremely powerful being.
"How are you speaking?" the girl gave Ye Liuyun a cold glance.
Ye Liuyun also felt he was being rude and hurried to explain, "No, I didn't mean that. I wanted to ask what exactly is going on with you? How did you end up in this layer of void, why did you appear suddenly..."
He became momentarily incoherent, wanting to ask why his Golden Pupil couldn't see her and why his Time Power was ineffective, yet he feared exposing his special ability.
Moreover, at this moment the pressure of this void had reached his limit, and he needed to return.
"Fine, just don't go back, otherwise you'll have to hack through this void barrier again!"
The girl spoke while waving her hand, and Ye Liuyun felt his vision flash as a small courtyard materialized before him, with bamboo tea tables and chairs, and a pond.
"Come in, this place can help you resist the void pressure," the girl said, stepping inside first.
Ye Liuyun, curious, leapt in. The moment he entered the courtyard, the pressure on his body vanished instantly, as if this place were isolated from the previous void.
He looked back; the void fissure he had cleaved was still there. Yet his Time Power had already withdrawn during his earlier shock.
He was about to ask the girl again when she cut in, "I heard your barbecue skills are decent; why don't you grill for me, and I'll answer your questions in return?"
Ye Liuyun replied, "Barbecuing is fine, but... are you sure you can tell the truth?"
"Pfft," the girl giggled, teasing, "I only said I'll answer your questions, not whether it's the truth. How you judge that is up to you!"
"If you don't grill for me, I won't answer your questions. Are you trying to ask who I am, why I'm here, why I'm unaffected by your time stop, why your Golden Pupil can't see me? Want to know the answers?"
The girl continued to tempt Ye Liuyun.
"Fine, I'll grill for you!" Ye Liuyun immediately agreed.
He had a premonition that the girl was certainly not ordinary, perhaps he could obtain a great opportunity from her.
The girl nodded satisfied, looked toward the pond, and murmured, "I've been sleeping so long, I should be able to eat a lot. But what shall I eat?"
She crouched at the pond's edge, as if searching for fish for Ye Liuyun to grill. Ye Liuyun followed her gaze and realized the pond contained a series of glowing specks, not water or fish.
"What is this? How do you grill this?"
"Huh, you're still alive? Then it's you, the thing that should've died long ago!" the girl said.
She gestured, and a blue light shot out from one of the specks, growing larger while writhing.
"Whoa, it's
a blue dragon!" Ye Liuyun, upon seeing clearly, was utterly shocked.
In an instant the blue dragon's body stretched over five hundred zhang, a living true dragon, thrashing claws in the air, yet unable to escape the girl's control.
Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil immediately focused on it, and his shock deepened.
"Hédào Wǔchóng!"
His mouth opened wide, and for a moment he forgot to close it.
He himself didn't experience any hallucination; the Ten Thousand Gods Command was fine, with no prompts.
The blue dragon let out several long howls, nearly shattering Ye Liuyun's Soul.
"This... is all real!" Ye Liuyun finally confirmed.
"Croak!"
The girl said something, reached out, and snatched the blue dragon's two souls straight out of its Sea of Consciousness. The two dragon souls, once out, immediately shrank and were drawn into her palm.
Then, as if kneading dough, she rolled the souls into a ball and casually tossed it to Ye Liuyun.
"This blue dragon has committed many evils, it should have died long ago; you can grill it. Consider its true dragon soul as your labor fee!" the girl added for Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun instinctively reached out and caught it. At that moment the blue dragon's body crashed down beside him with a thud.
He startled, looked up, and found the courtyard had expanded entirely. Though the blue dragon's body was massive, it still fit within the courtyard.
Looking at the soul ball in his hand, it was denser than the soul source he had forged with a Soul‑Refining Cauldron, resembling a pill.
"Sss!" Ye Liuyun inhaled a gasp of cold air.
"That girl is a bit volatile, killing a true dragon so easily. She's certainly not ordinary in strength!"
Ye Liuyun was now certain he was no match for the girl. Fortunately she showed no overt malice; otherwise he might have died today.
He glanced at the five‑hundred‑zhang blue dragon, took a deep breath, drew the Demon Slaying Sword, and began to dispatch the dragon corpse, fulfilling his promise.
He set aside the inedible parts—scale armor, Dragon Bone, dragon horns, dragon claws, Primordial Pill, etc. —and dared not keep them.
"Take all that junk away, so you don't dirty my courtyard!" the girl said, sitting at the tea table watching Ye Liuyun busy, reminding him.
"Thanks then!"
Ye Liuyun didn't bother with formalities, swiftly gathering everything. From the girl's tone, calling the Hédào Jìngjiè dragon scales, Dragon Bone, and Primordial Pill trash, she truly seemed indifferent to those resources.
"Who exactly are you? Why are you here?" Ye Liuyun asked while stripping the dragon meat.
"You haven't even started grilling yet!" the girl replied, using his not having begun as a reason not to answer immediately.
Ye Liuyun was speechless, only able to speed up his actions.
After he finished preparing the meat, he finally began grilling. The courtyard returned to its original size. The recent severe re‑encoding has given us more motivation to update faster; please click a little to exit reading mode. Thank you.
