Chapter 47: Source of Lightning

"This stinky kid, just to get rid of me, doesn't even care about his life!" Lu Wei was being tossed farther and farther away, cursing inwardly, but there was nothing he could do. If he appeared now, it would only make Ye Liuyun more suspicious.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck Ye Liuyun directly, leaving Lu Wei dumbfounded.

"Damn, I actually forced this kid to death!"

But the next scene shocked him even more.

Ye Liuyun was only momentarily stunned, muttered a curse, and kept moving forward.

"This…" Lu Wei finally halted, no longer following him!

Going further ahead would even endanger him! "This kid!" he shook his head helplessly and withdrew from the lightning zone.

The lightning just now indeed struck Ye Liuyun, but the Ten Thousand Gods Command in his Sea of Consciousness instantly absorbed those bolts.

The residual force of the lightning attack was also hard‑resisted by Ye Liuyun. His True Essence within his body also bears lightning attributes, so his body is tolerant.

Moreover, he even felt his own lightning power had become a bit stronger because of it.

"Thanks to this Ten Thousand Gods Command, otherwise I'd either die or shed my skin in an instant!" Ye Liuyun thought, becoming even more curious about the Ten Thousand Gods Command.

"I wonder what other functions this Ten Thousand Gods Command has," Ye Liuyun thought, continuing onward.

If he gets struck by lightning again, he no longer worries. On the contrary, he hopes more lightning hits him to increase his lightning power.

When he reached the central area of Lei Ming Gorge, it was already saturated with lightning, impossible to dodge.

The Ten Thousand Gods Command continuously absorbed lightning power, and his own lightning power gradually grew. Moreover, the stronger his lightning power, the faster he absorbs lightning.

At that moment, Ye Liuyun noticed a small orb hovering in midair at the center of the lightning field.

The orb also absorbed lightning power. Lightning within a radius of one zhang was drawn into it, leaving the area beneath the orb free of lightning.

"With such absorption, how much lightning power must this orb store!" Ye Liuyun exclaimed, trying to grasp the orb.

Before his fingers could touch the orb, a crimson‑bright thunder source force slammed toward him.

The crimson thunder source, whose gathered lightning power was unknown, would turn anyone it struck into ash instantly.

"Done!" Ye Liuyun felt a chill in his heart!

"I was so careless, actually daring to grab it with my hand! I'm doomed now!"

At that hair‑raising moment, the Ten Thousand Gods Command flashed out from his Sea of Consciousness and shielded Ye Liuyun.

The crimson thunder source was instantly absorbed by the Ten Thousand Gods Command.

The Ten Thousand Gods Command burst into Golden Light, immediately enveloping the orb.

The orb quivered as if conscious, trembling.

Moments later, the Ten Thousand Gods Command flashed back into Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness.

And his Sea of Consciousness now contained additional information about the orb.

"So it's a Thunder Source Pearl! It can absorb lightning power and convert it into purer thunder source energy," Ye Liuyun realized.

Moreover, the pearl seemed terrified of the Ten Thousand Gods Command, shaking all over, and immediately agreed to recognize Ye Liuyun as its master.

This amazed Ye Liuyun. "The pearl actually has consciousness! And it accepted me so easily!"

Ye Liuyun felt great delight, silently thanking the Ten Thousand Gods Command. Without it, he would have died.

The Thunder Source Pearl was practically a gift prepared for him, easily claimed.

However, he didn't rush to store the pearl, letting it absorb more lightning first.

He roamed around, checking for other treasures. After a circuit, he found several Thunder Spirit Herbs.

These Thunder Spirit Herbs also contain abundant lightning power, usable to forge Thunder Explosion Pills. Consuming them boosts lightning power and can be used against foes.

Ye Liuyun stored the herbs and began cultivating beside the Thunder Source Pearl.

His Mysterious Origin Chain Qi Technique can absorb almost any energy; he wondered if it could also transmute this lightning power into True Essence.

The trial made him exceedingly pleased.

The Mysterious Origin Chain Qi Technique converts lightning power, but only into Mysterious Qi.

That doesn't matter; it's all part of his True Qi, and as long as it strengthens his True Qi, it's fine.

So he sat down calmly and began cultivation.

The technique gathered all his internal lightning power, gradually merging it into Mysterious Qi.

After a little over an hour, his Mysterious Qi condensed the lightning power into a smaller Thunder Source. Though smaller in size, its potency was greater, truly becoming part of his Mysterious Qi and usable like True Qi.

From then on, his True Qi would automatically carry this lightning power. As long as the Thunder Source exists, the power is inexhaustible.

The Thunder Source not only absorbs lightning but also continuously generates it. His source is smaller, so it spawns lightning more slowly.

As his True Qi merged with lightning, its quality rose, and his realm broke through to Body Refining Ninth Layer.

Feeling the stronger internal force, Ye Liuyun attempted a punch.

With a whoosh, a blast of True Qi surged out, crackling with lightning, blasting a distant patch of ground into a huge crater, from which plumes of Qing Yan rose.

This power was more than double the strength of Body Refining Eighth Level.

Ye Liuyun was not only satisfied with his True Qi's quality but also delighted at his ability to project it outward.

Next, he continued to consolidate his realm for a while.

The Thunder Source Pearl had nearly finished absorbing. As he was about to store it, his Divine Sense detected a girl a year or two younger than him entering the dense lightning zone.

She wore a green dress, brandished a floral parasol, held a folding fan, strolling casually. Her large eyes were bright and spirited.

First Realm! Her floral parasol must be a defensive treasure, capable of blocking lightning!

Ye Liuyun instantly gauged the girl's strength.

Only exceptional people can wield such a treasure.

Ye Liuyun didn't dare be careless, promptly stored the Thunder Source Pearl to avoid trouble, and pretended to be cultivating, sitting cross‑legged on the spot.

Once the Thunder Source Pearl was placed into the Storage Ring, the lightning power showed a diminishing trend, though not markedly, and didn't vanish instantly.

The little girl, upon reaching the central area, saw Ye Liuyun cultivating amid the lightning and let out a startled "Ya!"

Ye Liuyun opened his eyes and stood up.

"Who are you?" both asked at the same time.

The girl also seemed to feel the lightning power weakening, thinking it was because Ye Liuyun had stopped cultivating. As if suddenly enlightened, she asked, "Is this lightning drawn by your cultivation?"

Ye Liuyun pretended to nod. He asked, "Why are you disturbing my cultivation?"

The girl was also taken aback, then said, "I didn't mean to! Everyone said there was some treasure here, causing the lightning to rage. I just came to have a look; I didn't know you were cultivating!"

Ye Liuyun curled his lip, disdainfully saying, "What treasure could there be here? So close to the city, if there were any treasure, people would have taken it long ago!"

Upon hearing that, the girl also thought it made sense.

"Sorry for disturbing your cultivation. Continue, I'll leave right away!" the girl said.
