Chapter 542: Unexpected

Lie Hongxia examined Ye Liuyun closely and found that Ye Liuyun now seemed able to resist her defense again, startling her.

"His strength has improved again?"

Beside them, Meng Wentian and Ding Hao also thought Ye Liuyun was preparing a final gamble. Initially they were still thinking, "This new Heavenly Pride's strength isn't that great either?"

But in the blink of an eye, Ye Liuyun was again able to fend off Lie Hongxia's attack, so they were secretly surprised.

"So Ye Liuyun still has undisplayed strength?"

At this moment, the Divine Sense attack on Lie Hongxia grew considerably stronger, affecting her more, causing each Fire Phoenix she released to have only eighty percent of its former power.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun's True Essence and Fire Flame Power kept increasing. Supplementing Fire Flame Power is the best tonic for strengthening Golden Crow Holy Fire. Thus, with abundant fire energy, Golden Crow Holy Fire upgraded again.

Ye Liuyun only felt the Golden Crow Holy Fire inside his body turn completely golden, flashing with dazzling light.

"Hoo!"

The Mixed Origin War God illusion directly summoned a flaming Golden Crow.

This time, the Golden Crow let out a screech that drowned out the phoenix's cry, leading everyone to expect a clash of forces.

To everyone's surprise, no True Essence collision between Golden Crow and Fire Phoenix occurred; instead, the Golden Crow lunged at the Fire Phoenix to devour it.

In one or two breaths, Ye Liuyun's Golden Crow devoured a Fire Phoenix outright, then lunged at another.

Even Ye Liuyun was puzzled by the scene; this Golden Crow was not under his control.

"Could it be the Mixed Origin War God?"

Ye Liuyun turned back, puzzled, and saw the Mixed Origin War God illusion seem to smile at him.

He couldn't tell whether it was real or a hallucination.

Anyway, after the Golden Crow devoured all the Fire Phoenixes, the Mixed Origin War God snapped his hand and pulled it back into his body.

Ye Liuyun's inner sight on the Golden Crow Holy Fire revealed the flame's origin had taken the shape of a Golden Crow—a three‑legged, golden‑light‑shining crow seeming to screech toward the heavens. It then shook its head, looked left and right, and even examined Ye Liuyun's Divine Sense.

"The Golden Crow is alive!"

It was Ye Liuyun's first time hearing that a flame's origin could become alive.

But at this moment, he had no mind to dwell on details; as long as he grew stronger, it was fine.

Lie Hongxia no longer used Phoenix Wing Sky Soar to summon Fire Phoenixes. She clearly sensed the Golden Crow's flame level was higher than hers.

"Damn it, it even absorbed my flame power!" With that thought, Lie Hongxia also played her trump card, the Fire Phoenix Bloodline Secret Technique, just like Lie Hongyun.

"Phoenix Nirvana!"

This Phoenix Nirvana is the ultimate attack that gathers all her Bloodline Power, True Essence Power, and Fire Flame Power.

All these forces converged onto the Fire Phoenix circling her. Under Heaven and Earth Power, the massive Fire Phoenix spread its wings, making the blood‑colored Secret Realm glow even brighter red.

"I let you absorb!"

Lie Hongxia flicked her eyes, waved her hand, and the gigantic Fire Phoenix surged toward Ye Liuyun.

However, the Fire Phoenix was so huge that even Lei Ming and the others were engulfed by it.

"Damned it!"

Ye Liuyun cursed aloud. He fought Lie Hongxia and didn't expect her attack to also engulf the people behind him.

Liang Xue immediately released the Earth Demon Dragon.

"Roar!"

The Earth Demon Dragon let out a thunderous roar as soon as it appeared, then emitted Heavenly Gang Nine Layers Demon Qi to help Liang Xue block the flame attack.

Lei Ming also opened his mouth, spitting out a wave of Ice Power that not only shielded Liang Xue and the others but also shared part of the defense for Ye Liuyun.

"Still not acting?" Lie Hongxia shouted at Ding Hao and Meng Wentian.

Seeing the Earth Demon Dragon appear and Lei Ming strike, a conspiratorial smile curled at the corner of her mouth.

She wanted Ding Hao and Meng Wentian to act, to distract Ye Liuyun's attention. However, she hadn't expected an extra Earth Demon Dragon to appear.

Ding Hao and Meng Wentian hesitated. It was clear Lie Hongxia deliberately widened the attack range, provoking a battle they didn't want to be drawn into.

But now Lei Ming and the Earth Demon Dragon had acted; if they still held back, they'd seem unchivalrous.

So the two finally stepped forward.

However, they only blocked Lei Ming's and the Earth Demon Dragon's attacks, without targeting Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun had already prepared the Sealing Demon Tablet and Mourning Bell. Seeing that they hadn't attacked him, he briefly relaxed.

At this moment, the Golden Crow fire source inside Ye Liuyun seemed to sense the external flame power and couldn't help but try to burst out.

"Since you released flame for me to absorb, I will do as you wish!"

At this point, Ye Liuyun manifested the Mixed Origin War God again and released the Golden Crow.

Through the Golden Crow released by the Mixed Origin War God, Heaven and Earth Power intensified, making defense and flame absorption faster!

After appearing, the Golden Crow enlarged its body and lunged to bite the Fire Phoenix.

It only bit, not slammed; it intended to absorb the Phoenix Nirvana fire entirely.

Each time the Golden Crow lunged to bite, it tore a large chunk out of the Fire Phoenix, directly swallowing the flame power within.

The Earth Demon Dragon and Lei Ming, however, were now fighting Ding Hao and Meng Wentian. The Earth Demon Dragon's intellect was low; it only knew the opposite side were enemies and, unaware of Ding Hao's concerns, fought desperately. Moreover, Liang Xue's artifact protected its Soul, making it fearless.

Lei Ming was the same; she couldn't wait for the fight, especially against a Martial Cultivator like Meng Wentian who refined his body, making him a perfect opponent. So she immediately launched a full‑force attack, using Blood Thunder, Ice Power, and even her Physical Body to crash into Meng Wentian.

Facing these two Heavenly Gang Nine Layers demon beasts, Ding Hao and the others had no choice but to give their all, though they silently cursed Lie Hongxia for her deceit.

Four Heavenly Prides, a Black Horse, and a Heavenly Gang Nine Layers demon beast gathered together, a scene that surprised everyone.

"Lie Hongxia, in seeking revenge, resorted to any means; that's a bit excessive!" Some Elders immediately expressed dissatisfaction with her actions.

Indeed, losing any of those currently fighting would be a great regret for the Alliance.
