Chapter 567: Clash with the Emperor

"So this paper kite was tracking me!"

Ye Liuyun, after spotting the paper kite, directly released Nether Ghost Fire, burning its Divine Sense to nothing.

But the Eternal Night Demon Emperor produced another paper kite, continuing to track him.

"Looks like I have to eliminate this annoying guy. He's got his eyes on me and won't let go."

After the paper kite caught up to Ye Liuyun again, he did not burn it outright but stood still, waiting for the Eternal Night Demon Emperor to come.

He had already realized that the Eternal Night Demon Emperor was the one chasing him. Two strong ones of the Heavenly Gang Ninth Rank followed behind the emperor, but they were relatively far away.

Meanwhile, San Yuan Sect, whose tracking lantern had been destroyed, could no longer keep up with Ye Liuyun. They could only follow behind the Eternal Night Demon Emperor, hoping to scavenge.

Thus, those from San Yuan Sect stayed at the very rear, even farther from the Eternal Night Demon Emperor.

After Ye Liuyun steadied himself, he immediately used Golden Pupil for a cross‑space attack. His first targets were the two Heavenly Gang Ninth Rank strong ones trailing the Eternal Night Demon Emperor.

Ye Liuyun's cross‑space Golden Pupil is now wielded more skillfully and with greater power.

Guardian God Seal surged straight into a Demon Cultivator's Sea of Consciousness to attack. Nether Ghost Fire and Buddha Light Power almost left his Soul without resistance, annihilating it outright.

The two were sprinting when, all of a sudden, one of them tumbled headfirst, crashing to the ground, startling the fellow sect member beside him.

"What happened?"

The confused person was immediately struck by Ye Liuyun's attack, realizing what his fellow sect member had just encountered.

"Kid, you're courting death—stop right now!"

The Eternal Night Demon Emperor's Divine Sense also detected Ye Liuyun attacking his two followers behind him. He only sent a Transmission Voice warning to Ye Liuyun, without halting his steps to rescue them.

He knew that even if he turned back to rescue, it would be too late.

Ye Liuyun's Soul was similar to his. He was also a Soul Cultivator, understanding the speed of Spiritual Soul Attack, far faster than any speed in the mortal world.

He now only wanted to catch up to Ye Liuyun quickly and subdue him.

He had expected Ye Liuyun to keep fleeing, but instead Ye Liuyun stood still, waiting for him.

"Can't run any more?"

After the Eternal Night Demon Emperor chased up, he asked smugly.

Ye Liuyun lifted the corner of his mouth. "I just wanted to spar with the Emperor to practice."

Speaking so, he immediately launched a Spiritual Soul Attack. It was also his first time confronting the Emperor head‑on.

The Spiritual Soul Attack unleashed by Ye Liuyun's Mixed Origin War God could be called his strongest attack, and it carried Buddha Light Power, which was thought to be the Eternal Night Demon Emperor's nemesis.

The Eternal Night Demon Emperor sneered contemptuously, also releasing his Guardian God Seal, manifesting as a pitch‑black demon head. Rolling Demon Qi enveloped his whole body, even obscuring his face, making the demon lord's true form impossible to see.

When that demon lord appeared, he dyed the entire Soul space pitch black, truly like falling into a black hole, making one feel that light would never be seen again.

Ye Liuyun's Mixed Origin War God, immersed in darkness, could only rely on his own Buddha Light to illuminate. He instantly spread Nether Ghost Fire around himself to prevent any unknown Yin Soul‑type entities in the dark from ambushing.

"No wonder he's the Emperor; this Divine Soul Power is far stronger than that of a Martial Cultivator at the Heavenly Gang Realm."

Although the Eternal Night Demon Emperor is a Demon Cultivator who specializes in Spiritual Soul, his Divine Soul Power being formidable is unsurprising, yet Ye Liuyun felt the Eternal Night Demon Emperor's Divine Soul Power surpassed that of Yao Xinghai, whom he had previously encountered.

Ye Liuyun, to be safe, kept the Mourning Bell in hand, ready to use it as a shield in emergencies.

Seeing Buddha Light Power radiating from Ye Liuyun, the Eternal Night Demon Emperor frowned.

His attacks mainly relied on Demon Qi corroding the opponent, demonicizing them, but at this moment Ye Liuyun, wrapped in Buddha Light, was impervious to Demon Qi infiltration.

Thus he instantly switched tactics, beginning to attack with illusion art.

Ye Liuyun, in the darkness, was puzzling over how the Eternal Night Demon Emperor would strike, when Liang Xue suddenly ran in. At the same time, in Ye Liuyun's Sea of Consciousness, the Ten Thousand Gods Command emitted a radiance, awakening it.

"The Eternal Night Demon Emperor's illusion art unintentionally led me onto the path—truly extraordinary!"

Ye Liuyun had also studied illusion art, so under the Ten Thousand Gods Command's cue, he quickly understood.

"Huh! Even illusion art doesn't work?"

The Eternal Night Demon Emperor saw Ye Liuyun only pause briefly, his eyes clearing, and couldn't help but be secretly surprised.

"What is this Buddha Light on the kid that even illusion art can't pierce!"

He didn't know Ye Liuyun was resisting his illusion art with the Ten Thousand Gods Command, and mistakenly thought the Buddha Light on Ye Liuyun was responsible.

"Since illusion art fails, let's see the strength!"

At that thought, the Eternal Night Demon Emperor's Guardian Demon Lord also stepped into the darkness, closing in on Ye Liuyun.

The Buddha Light Power emitted by Ye Liuyun's Mixed Origin War God was modest then, only enough to illuminate a three‑zhang radius, so the demon lord approached the darkness and drew near without Ye Liuyun noticing.

Suddenly, he sensed a powerful True Essence of the Yin-Yang Realm surging toward him.

Soul‑Hook Chain!

The demon lord launched a surprise attack on the Mixed Origin War God in the darkness.

Although Ye Liuyun was unprepared, his Buddha Light Power could react to the demon's attack. Even he himself had not known this before.

The Mixed Origin War God reached out, seized the chain, and his Buddha Light burst outward, instantly filling half of the dark space. That area was enough to enclose the demon lord.

One end of the Soul‑Hook Chain, held by the Mixed Origin War God, could not be pulled back by the demon lord. A strand of Buddha Light followed the iron chain, coiling toward the demon lord.

Enveloped by Buddha Light, the demon lord's Demon Qi was gradually eroded. He tried to retreat to avoid the Buddha Light but was reluctant to abandon the Soul‑Hook Chain in his hand. At that moment, the Buddha Light winding around the chain surged toward him.

"Disperse!"

The demon lord let out a thunderous roar, his Demon Qi intensifying again, pushing the surrounding Buddha Light back several zhang, and vanished into the darkness once more. Simultaneously, the Buddha Light coiled on the Soul‑Hook Chain was scattered by the Demon Qi emitted from the chain.

Seeing this, Ye Liuyun immediately hurled the Mourning Bell at the demon lord.

"Ha ha, I've been waiting for you!"

The Eternal Night Demon Emperor burst into laughter, produced a net‑like treasure, and flung it at the Mourning Bell.

Against the Mourning Bell, hard objects that aren't of Divine Rank can't gain an advantage. Using a soft, net‑type treasure can at least hold the Mourning Bell briefly. That fleeting moment was enough to launch an attack on Ye Liuyun.
