Chapter 63: Precise Positioning

Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng ran at a rapid pace, following Ye Liuyun.

Yu Wenlong suddenly said, "Is our direction wrong? Those three ferocious beasts seem to be moving the opposite way."

Ye Liuyun replied, "I'm worried they'll spot us if we catch up, so it's safer to loop around ahead and ambush them."

Ye Liuyun seemed especially familiar with the area, sprinting swiftly while guiding them around hazardous zones.

After a short while, Ye Liuyun had them hide and wait for the three beasts to arrive.

Sure enough, just as they finished the ambush, they heard the three beasts' sounds.

This made Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng even more astonished.

"How does Ye Liuyun know they'll take this path?" they thought, but couldn't voice the question.

"Attack!" After transmitting a voice with Divine Sense, Ye Liuyun suddenly leapt forward, pointing at the foremost Black Demon Wolf, while Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng each charged at the Black Demon Wolves on their respective sides.

Both of them wielded swords, so their strikes were extremely fierce.

Ye Liuyun's single blow succeeded, piercing a small hole in the opponent's qi sea. Their True Essence leaked out, rendering them instantly void.

Yu Wenlong also pierced the opponent's qi sea with a sword. Lin Feng was a bit slower, but with only three thrusts he felled the foe and then voided its cultivation.

Ye Liuyun immediately stunned the two Black Demon Wolves on the left and right, then fixed his gaze on the middle wolf's eyes.

He was employing Illusion Pupil's Soul Searching Technique to probe its memories.

He was still unpracticed with this method, using it for the first time, so the initial attempt failed.

He tried again; although he could glimpse its memories, the duration was extremely brief.

After a short rest, he made a third attempt and this time obtained sufficient information.

Then he killed that Black Demon Wolf, extracted its beast core, and collected the corpse.

A while later, he sequentially awakened the other two wolves, using the same method to reconfirm the information he had just retrieved.

Afterwards, he assigned Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng to handle the beasts individually.

The two only took the beast cores, leaving the corpses. The wolf meat was unsuitable for humans, but Ye Liuyun rudely collected them as well.

"What were you doing just now?" Lin Feng couldn't help asking.

When Ye Liuyun used Illusion Pupil, to Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng it seemed he merely stared into the wolf's eyes for a few breaths. In reality, Ye Liuyun had lingered in its Sea of Consciousness for over an hour.

He not only found a map to the beasts' lair, learned the pack's strength, but also gleaned some of the beasts' movements.

Nothing much; I was just looking at them.

"Uh… you kept them alive just to have a look?" the two were completely baffled.

But Ye Liuyun couldn't explain, so he fell silent.

"Then why take all the corpses away? Afraid of leaving traces?" this time even Yu Wenlong couldn't help asking.

Ye Liuyun thought for a moment and realized that during the upcoming fight they would need Black Python to appear. So rather than later, he decided to tell them now.

He released the Black Python, then shrank it to coil around his arm.

"The corpses are food for the Black Python and Bald Vulture!"

"Whoa! Another True Yuan Fifth Tier helper!" Lin Feng and Yu Wenlong were both shocked.

At this rate, our team should be the strongest here.

Seeing another True Yuan Fifth Tier beast relaxed Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng considerably.

Lin Feng licked his lips and asked, "For these True Yuan Fifth Tier beasts, how many do you still have? Show us so we have a clear idea!"

Ye Liuyun wore a scowl. "Do you think they're like cabbages by the road, you can have as many as you want? There are none left; I only have these two beast companions. Even if there were more, I couldn't feed them!"

At that moment, Lei Ming on Ye Liuyun's shoulder whined, meaning "There's also her; don't forget her."

It made Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng burst into laughter.

They couldn't discern Lei Ming's cultivation level, as it was concealed by a treasure, so they assumed the pet was merely a bit clever, with no real function.

"Let's go!" Ye Liuyun led them, sprinting toward the Beast Raid Lair. He deftly avoided Grave Monument Cluster, Hidden Ditch, and the like.

"You seem very familiar with this place," Yu Wenlong asked curiously during the journey.

"Divine Sense Pathfinding!" Ye Liuyun explained briefly, saying little more to avoid raising their suspicions.

When they arrived at the beast pack's lair, Bald Vulture had already perched on a tree, waiting. However, it did not join them, instead concealing its aura and hiding nearby to prepare an ambush.

Ye Liuyun's task for it was to ambush a True Origin Triple or Quadruple beast and kill it with a single strike.

Ye Liuyun told Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng, "Ahead is a pack's old lair! Prepare for battle! Here are the beasts: one True Yuan Fifth Tier, one True Origin Quadruple, two True Origin Triple, over ten True Yuan First Tier, and over ten Body Refinement Eighth or Ninth Tier. We'll take them down."

Yu Wenlong asked in amazement, "How did you find this place? That's incredible!"

Ye Liuyun could only point at Bald Vulture, attributing all credit to it.

In fact, this den was just a temporary cave built beneath a stretch of Mi Lin; Bald Vulture couldn't see it from above at all.

Lin Feng swallowed and immediately warned, "So many beasts! Don't act rashly!"

Yu Wenlong also asked cautiously, "How do you plan to allocate combat power?"

"I'll handle the True Yuan Fifth Tier; Black Python and Bald Vulture will take the True Origin Quadruple and Triple. You two deal with the rest, and after we win we'll come back to support you!" Ye Liuyun said.

"That's a bit risky!" Yu Wenlong said hesitantly.

Ye Liuyun smiled. "Fortune is sought amid danger!"

"Alright, let's do it!" Yu Wenlong agreed. He thought Ye Liuyun made sense; no risk, only opportunity.

"Huh? You two are each crazier than the last!" Lin Feng was a bit reluctant, but finally agreed. "All in, at worst it's just death!"

"Haha, if you had this spirit earlier, your cultivation could have advanced faster," Ye Liuyun laughed.

Then Ye Liuyun released the shrunken Black Python again, letting it conceal its aura and hide in nearby grass, assigning it the same task as Bald Vulture.

Both must quickly eliminate the True Origin Triple and Quadruple beasts, then rush to reinforce Yu Wenlong and Lin Feng.

Otherwise, each of them would have to face a swarm of over ten beasts, which is too much pressure!

With Black Python and Bald Vulture arranged, Ye Liuyun and the others moved closer to the beast pack's lair.

This is a Small Mountain Hollow; at its entrance stands a Barbarian Bear of True Origin Triple, with two Barbarian Bears of True Origin Double stationed as guards.

Ye Liuyun thought for a moment and decided to take down the Barbarian Bear of True Origin Triple first. That way, when the fight begins later, they will have it easier.

He drew his bow and, using Divine Sense, sent a Transmission Voice to the two of them: "When I fire an arrow, you both launch a surprise attack on the two Barbarian Bears of True Origin Double."

The two nodded, tightening their grip on their swords.
