Chapter 903: Mist-Shrouded Labyrinth City

Ye Liuyun led Ling Shuang and Yuan Datou, and at this moment they were observing the situation inside a patch of mist.

This mist can block Divine Sense, but it cannot stop Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil.

Ye Liuyun has already discovered that within this mist there are some anomalies; the mist can automatically condense into the shapes of monkeys.

Moreover, these mist monkeys can drift apart and combine at will; wherever there is mist, such mist monkeys can form.

At the deepest part of the mist seems to be a city. The mist is too thick; even after Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil pierces the mist, he can no longer see through the situation inside the city.

He also couldn't gauge the strength of these mist monkeys, so he decided to let Xiao Tianqing and his group go first to probe their strength, giving him a chance to find a way to repel them.

"You two, don't resist; activate Protective True Origin, and I'll take you two to a place."

Ye Liuyun told Yuan Datou and Ling Shuang while, in front of the mist, deliberately leaving traces.

Afterwards, he grabbed one with each hand, took them both into the Seventh Layer Void, far away from the mist entrance, and then used his cross-space Golden Pupil to observe Xiao Tianqing and the others.

As his spatial power grows stronger, as long as it's not the eighth layer of the void, even with people he can freely travel through.

However, the people he brings must activate Protective True Origin.

Xiao Tianqing was directly behind Ye Liuyun in a straight line and was the first to arrive.

But he did not act rashly; he merely sent two guards in to probe.

After those two guards entered and hadn't gone far, several mist monkeys suddenly condensed bodies beside them, directly tearing the two guards apart, giving them no chance to react.

However, the mist monkeys did not absorb their flesh and blood, but directly dug out their primordial cores.

And their primordial cores were gradually enveloped by the mist, then gradually assimilated.

"So this mist is energy!" Ye Liuyun thought to himself: "Later I'll try to see if I can absorb it!"

The miserable cries of those two guards echoed far away.

Xiao Tianqing immediately led his people to retreat a little, waiting for the other two teams to arrive.

Soon, the miserable cries attracted the other two teams as well, and these people gathered together again.

Ye Liuyun's cross-space Golden Pupil discovered that after they discussed for a while, fifty soldiers formed a three-layered circle inside and out, with two Elders in the very center, walking into the mist.

Meanwhile, Xiao Tianqing led the remaining people, waiting outside the mist.

Ye Liuyun paid no attention to Xiao Tianqing and the others, focusing instead on observing those who entered the mist to see how they dealt with the mist monkeys.

Those soldiers hadn't gone far before they were attacked again by the mist monkeys.

Moreover, the mist monkeys' attacks were random, not distinguishing inside from outside; the defensive circle they formed was basically useless.

In a single encounter, guards from all three layers inside and out were slain by the mist monkeys.

Ye Liuyun, however, noticed that the guards who released Fire Flame Power and Ice Power were relatively safe.

The mist monkeys in the mist offered no defense; at most they were scattered by attacks, but could soon recondense.

"Burn them with fire!"

One Elder also realized this. Those who possessed Fire Flame Power began to release fire, attacking those mist monkeys.

The fire had some effect; the mist monkeys would dissipate upon encountering fire, but then recondense in places without fire.

Moreover, the mist monkeys could still attack them through the fire.

After a short while, more than fifty disciples who had entered had already lost half their number to the mist monkeys' attacks.

The mist monkeys continually condensed and dissipated around them, leaving them unable to find a target.

"Ice Seal!" an Elder shouted, using an ice-attributed treasure to freeze a mist monkey that was in the process of condensing into form.

The mist monkey in the ice seal had not yet taken concrete form, but it was truly frozen.

Others who possessed ice attributes also immediately acted, freezing all the mist monkeys around them.

However, the mist was too abundant, and mist monkeys kept forming.

That Elder immediately organized those with Ice Power to protect the others in the middle, beginning to freeze mist monkeys on a large scale.

This tactic actually had some effect; Ice Power froze the mist monkeys that approached.

They then shattered the ice sculptures, began to advance quickly forward, and soon entered the city.

"This method is not bad!" Ye Liuyun nodded.

"Let's go, let's also go in; waiting any longer would be pointless!"

Ye Liuyun said, and once again brought the two of them directly into the mist.

First he released flames to disperse the surrounding mist, then he unleashed the Ice Demon Tiger, which released Ice Power, leading them as they rushed toward the city.

Ye Liuyun himself also tried using the Primordial Spirit Secret Technique to absorb a bit of this mist, but it did not, as he had imagined, provide something he could absorb.

"This mist is strange! Clearly it is transformed from energy, yet it cannot be absorbed!"

Ye Liuyun merely felt it was strange, didn't linger, and under the protection of the Ice Demon Tiger they also entered the city.

"Migung!"

When they entered the city, they could no longer see those guards; a vast Migung appeared before their eyes.

Inside the Migung, Divine Sense cannot detect beyond ten meters.

Just as Ye Liuyun and company were feeling curious, the Migung interior transmitted the miserable cries of the guards who had previously entered.

Judging by the sound, it wasn't very far away.

Ye Liuyun wanted to soar up to survey the Migung, but found that his flying height was still not higher than the corridor walls; here there is also a prohibition on flying.

He also tried using his cross-space Golden Pupil, but likewise could not release it.

"This Migung is strange!" Ye Liuyun's various methods were actually all restricted.

So he also dared not recklessly venture inside, fearing that if he encountered danger he would never be able to get out.

Ye Liuyun secretly communicated with the Ghost Butterfly, asking if it had a way.

Usually, feral beasts have a more accurate sense of direction than humans.

The Ghost Butterfly also replied to him, saying it had encountered a Migung before and thus had some experience; however, perhaps this Migung is different, so it cannot be certain.

Ye Liuyun looked at the divination board, then said to the ghost butterfly: "The treasure is right in the middle of this labyrinth. Give it a try, anyway I don't have any better options."

Afterwards, Ye Liuyun also said to Yuan Datou and Ling Shuang: "I'm not confident I can get through this labyrinth; do you two still want to go in together? If you don't want to go in, I can send you out."

"I'll go with you!" Yuan Datou said without hesitation.

Ling Shuang also said firmly: "Let's go, we'll be together, we can still look out for each other!"

"All right then! Let's charge in together. Everyone, gear up with the treasures." Ye Liuyun said, and also put on his divine artifact, the shape-shifting armor, onto himself.

Yuan Datou and Ling Shuang also put on their protective divine artifacts.
