Chapter 101: Lamp God
"Retreat." The Creator's power grew increasingly potent with the blooming of the sunlight, suppressing that crimson tide in one fell swoop.
And Chumen, taking advantage of this instant, jumped directly inside the Barrier.
The portal, defiled by flesh and blood, collapsed instantly under the sunlight; the Creator within the Barrier and the Mother Goddess upon the Moon gazed at each other from afar.
In the end, it was the Mother Goddess who took the initiative to retreat, merging back into the Moon.
Chumen, carrying his two shaken students, jumped and Roamed directly back to his own Dream Territory.
"If we're talking about danger, Earth is still more dangerous..." Chumen felt a lingering fear; these "Oldest Ones" undoubtedly all possessed Source Quality, a substance Chumen had long ago classified as unapproachable.
"Let me check you both," Chumen said, a surging Dream Sea flashing in his eyes as he checked whether Amon and Bethel had been corrupted by the Mother Goddess.
"It's fine, but to be safe, you should both pray to the Creator once later and let Him take action to perform a Purification."
"Yes!" Bethel nodded solemnly.
Even Amon dared not be negligent.
"Alright, you two go first, let me rest for a while." Chumen slumped onto the Dream Angel Throne, spread out the Dream Book, and covered his face with it.
Being forced to abruptly activate his Mythical Form just a moment ago, and even merging the Dream Book into his body, had caused him very negative effects.
And that wasn't even the main thing; the most important thing was that the aura of Source Quality on the Mother Goddess had truly and genuinely affected his state of existence.
The trouble that had been absent for nearly several hundred years seemed to have returned to him.
Hum!
The Divinity Badge on Chumen's chest trembled lightly, with two different powers blooming—the "Sleeplessness" of the Evernight Goddess and the "Eternal Day" of the Sun.
After the Evernight Goddess became a god and the Sun became a Quasi-Great Old One, the power of this badge had also been greatly enhanced.
The sense of chaos in Chumen's mind, wrapped by these two powers, dissipated quite a bit.
"Your state is a bit strange." Chumen's mind suddenly cleared, and a familiar voice sounded beside him.
It was none other than the Creator, whose body radiated a faint solar brilliance, helping Chumen to sober up.
"..." Chumen took the Dream Book off his face and looked at the Creator earnestly.
"I am still me." The Creator nodded in confirmation.
"That's good." Chumen felt slightly relieved, then asked, "What did you see in me?"
The words of a Creator held immense reference value for him.
"You are a 'Pure One', unaffected by the madness inherent to this world's essence, but perhaps..."
Even the Creator, who claimed to be Omniscient and Omnipotent, used an uncertain word like "perhaps"; this was enough to indicate the severity of the problem.
"... you have also not transcended the essence of this world."
Chumen had no reaction, simply listening.
"What is the essence of my madness?" the Creator suddenly asked such a question.
"It is awakening..." Chumen answered expressionlessly.
The Creator nodded slightly, his body turning into sunlight and disappearing completely.
Chumen sat up and checked the corruption on his body; after the dual Purification of the Dream and the Creator, even the Mother Goddess could not leave behind any traces.
"Dream..." Chumen recalled the instant he locked eyes with that crimson giant figure.
"She seems to know me, or rather, she knows the Dream Book..."
Chumen had a bit of a headache; he had circled back to this situation again.
He needed to face the Oldest Ones or even the Pillars to confirm his own existence, but facing these beings would very likely also cause him to fall completely into a state of Eternal Silence.
"Huh? Didn't I already prepare for this?"
A complete Oldest One cannot be provoked, but an incomplete one should be fine, right?
Chumen didn't even bother to greet Sasriel; he Roamed directly out of the Creator Kingdom, a palm-sized Pyramid appearing in his hand.
This was the giant Pyramid he had obtained in that "Fate" civilization.
"'Child of Chaos', Wishing Lamp!" Chumen used the Pyramid in his hand as the cause to shape the effect of finding the Wishing Lamp!
Because the Pyramid and the "Child of Chaos" had a certain occult connection, this operation went very smoothly.
Otherwise, relying solely on Spirituality or divination, one could not find the Wishing Lamp; in terms of status, it was almost equivalent to the Dream Book.
"In the treasury of a certain extraordinary race." Chumen's inspiration stirred, and he sensed the location of the "Wishing Lamp".
Extraordinary races were not just Giants, Elves, and Dragons; there were many more smaller-scale extraordinary races, such as Treants, Mermen, and so on.
Most of these races gathered together by instinct, and most did not even have true intelligence.
"Spirit World Predator? It seems to be one of the sources of the 'Bizarro Sorcerer' Characteristic."
Chumen descended upon a bizarre mountain range; the barrier here with the Spirit World seemed somewhat abnormal, with Spirit World projections falling here from time to time.
"Spirit World Predator, unable to develop intelligence, and a group of monsters that shuttle between the Spirit World and the Real World."
These monsters naturally could not draw Chumen's attention; he teleported directly into the "treasury" of these monsters.
Calling it a treasury, it was actually a garbage dump.
It was all sorts of materials and Characteristics plundered by the Spirit World Predators from the Real World and the Spirit World.
Chumen picked and chose through the garbage dump and actually discovered quite a few good things.
Ding!
Chumen frowned slightly and turned around slowly; he saw the item he was looking for.
The item was golden overall, like a miniature kettle, its surface covered in mysterious symbols, with a piece of wick protruding from the spout.
Under Chumen's gaze, the wick at the spout ignited spontaneously, emitting a viscous golden light that surged upward, converging into a pale golden figure.
"Who are you?" The pale golden figure's gaze fell upon the Pyramid in Chumen's hand.
"Who am I?" Chumen suddenly had a rather brilliant idea and decided to put it into practice.
He shifted his state, switched to "Error", and a Monocle made of crystal appeared over his right eye.
The pale golden figure's eyes narrowed, and the gold shimmered for an instant.
And the next moment, the Fool mask appeared in Chumen's hand, and he casually pressed it onto his face.
"!" The pale golden figure trembled violently, but ultimately remained able to maintain composure; however, when he saw those Starry Eyes floating around Chumen and gradually approaching the position of his eyes, he finally could not hold back.
"Stop!" The pale golden figure's voice echoed in Chumen's ears with an unusually grand tone.
But this voice carried no power, giving Chumen a feeling of being cautious.
When all the Uniques of the Mysterious Three Paths gather together, they are still quite intimidating.
Chumen followed the suggestion readily and put away both the Fool mask and the Starry Eyes.
"Who exactly are you?" the pale golden figure asked again, his expression hidden beneath the golden light likely not being very good.
"Who do you think I am?" Chumen did not answer, but instead put away the Pyramid and took out the Dream Book.
