Chapter 18: Longing
Just as the Ancient Gods began to enter the fray one after another, the Goddess of Harvest Oumibeila returned to the Giant King's Court with the God of Dawn Badehaier.
"That Angel's power is strange; losing to Him does not diminish your glory."
Oumibeila simply dropped this sentence and left; counting it up, She had already fought Chumen twice.
Not to mention Chumen's various bizarre abilities, whenever one fought him, there was a sense of alarm, as if something bad were about to happen.
She already had some understanding of Chumen's strangeness and was unwilling to provoke him at a juncture when a God War was about to break out.
But that was all; for a Mythical Creature, a word of comfort was already a mother's concern for a son.
Badehaier said nothing; the signs of madness on his body had been suppressed by Oumibeila, but his body still exuded a sense of decay.
"Glory..." Badehaier rumbled, his single eye widening, "Only more powerful strength can maintain one's own glory!"
"The Authorities held by the Demon Wolf and the Phoenix!"
But these were not things he could covet; they all had their own masters, and they were all Ancient Gods!
He walked toward the Twilight Palace, intending to see his Father God and seek further possibilities.
But just as he walked out of the palace, two auras of Ancient Gods left the Giant King's Court.
"The Elf King is about to arrive, and the Ancestor of Blood has invited your Father God to go out and welcome him; the God War may be coming."
Badehaier met Oumibeila in the Twilight Palace and received this news.
Naturally, they could not intervene in the God War; even watching from afar might cost them their lives.
This realization caused the desire to become stronger that had just risen in Badehaier's heart to suffer a great setback, sliding toward another abyss.
The psychological suggestion Chumen planted in Badehaier was simple; he even only performed insignificant reinforcement work, letting this thought of "becoming stronger" churn endlessly under the brutal beating of several Angel historical projections and the comprehensive suppression of the Goddess of Misfortune.
And the "Giant" or later "Warrior" pathway Sequence 2 is named "Glorifier," which is exactly the position Badehaier currently occupies.
Strength is the source of all glory.
You see? Chumen even performed the Acting Method for Badehaier once.
"..." Badehaier left in silence; with his thoughts churning endlessly, he had no mood to return to the Dawn Palace, but instead walked through this Giant King's Court.
Unknowingly, Badehaier had already seen a dim forest.
"Decaying Forest?" Badehaier was startled, even feeling that something was wrong; why had he walked here?
Just at a certain moment, the Dream Phosphor deeply buried in the bottom of his heart exploded, leaving no trace, erasing this thought at the last moment.
He forgot that moment of wrongness.
"Giant Ancestor..." Badehaier turned his thoughts to the Decaying Forest before him.
"Father God never allows anyone to approach here."
"Perhaps the reason for Father God's such great strength lies here?!"
And at this moment, the Giant King Ormir was confronting the other Ancient Gods and had no time to attend to other things; this was the best, or even the only, opportunity...
The thoughts churning in his heart ultimately overcame everything; Badehaier walked into the Decaying Forest, transforming into Dawn Armor, perfectly blending into the twilight.
Become stronger, kill all enemies.
This thought was generated by Badehaier himself, and then he naturally went to practice it.
With the Giant King away and the Giant Queen focused on the God War, naturally, no one could discover Badehaier.
He smoothly evaded the guards, and even slipped through in the power of twilight, arriving before two ancient tombstones, on which "Father" and "Mother" were written in Giant Language.
This was the origin of the Giants.
These two words contained the mystery that could mobilize the power of nature, intuitively giving Badehaier a feeling of attachment, sadness, and guilt.
It was just that Badehaier was the most outstanding Giant, Warrior, and "Demon Hunter" besides his father, and his perception even directly captured some information left in the corresponding Spirit World.
A scene from a very ancient era seemed to flash before Badehaier's eyes; the protagonists of that scene were his Father God and two corpses in coffins.
But why were those two corpses so thin and small? They couldn't even compare to a newborn of the Giant Race!
Badehaier's body gradually stiffened, his whole body chilled, because he saw the shape of those two corpses.
"Human..." Badehaier was silent; those two corpses were vastly different from Giants, having completely different physical structures from Giants.
These two corpses actually had two eyes!
And Giants had always been one-eyed.
"Father? Mother?" The Dawn at Badehaier's single eye was completely chaotic; he did not know what attitude to face the facts before him with.
"How could it be?" Badehaier transformed into dawn light, subconsciously walking forward, when suddenly that intense sense of guilt from the Giant King overwhelmed him.
He gradually tasted something deeper within it.
But now Badehaier's thoughts were stagnant, unable to even think, and he turned into dawn light, disappearing completely in this Decaying Forest.
"Father God never lets any Giant other than Himself approach the Decaying Forest..."
"And that intense feeling of guilt, even..."
Badehaier returned to the Dawn Palace at the fastest speed, closing his doors to any Giant, and did not even participate in this war again.
He might have guessed something.
"Soniathrym!" Ormir looked at the Elf King, who was stepping on wind and waves and holding a trident, and nodded.
"I am going to where the Chaos Sea is." Soniathrym looked at the distant Silver Kingdom; he had already locked onto it. The Chaos Sea had once appeared there, and he must go there.
"That is my territory!" Ormir's voice sank.
"That is the Chaos Sea, it has nothing to do with you!" Soniathrym stared closely at Ormir, the lightning around his body jumping wildly.
In this scene, it seemed that in the next moment, they would fight completely.
This was the Humanoid Alliance; under such circumstances, there were still various contradictions and struggles.
"Let Him go." Lilith descended, stepping on moonlight; the three Ancient Gods of the Humanoid Alliance were all meeting here.
"..." Tyranny flashed in Ormir's single eye, and that mass of Twilight Light trembled slightly; he fell silent.
The Elf King laughed and strode forward, arriving at the Silver Kingdom in just a few steps; feeling the lingering aura of the Chaos Sea, he nodded in satisfaction, and the agitation in his body and spirit subsided somewhat.
But at the same time, the Elf King's desire for the Source Quality had reached its peak.
In the same situation as him was that Dragon of Imagination.
Its virtual personality was already roaming the Collective Subconscious Ocean of the Silver Kingdom's citizens, thirsting to absorb the power of that Chaos Sea.
"I must obtain that stone tablet..."
