Chapter 294: Intrusion

~7 min read 1,247 words

Klein recovered at the fastest speed possible amidst the Mind Storm, but the fact that he had fallen into Trissy's hands was already unchangeable.

"Come with me!" Starlight appeared on Trissy's body, and a "Traveler's Door" appeared behind her.

She pulled Klein's body and let it fall backward into the "Traveler's Door," and the oil-painted world of the Spirit World once again flooded Klein's vision.

His mind had barely recovered, but at this moment, he was covered in a layer of frost, his body frozen and unable to move.

Even after the previous experience of grabbing Klein only for him to escape, Trissy had used thin, almost invisible spider silk threads to bind Klein, ensuring he could not escape.

Hum!

In just an instant, Klein had completely disappeared from the Royal Family's manor.

And now, those Beyonders whose minds had been shaken by the Mind Storm had only just come to their senses; they still needed to re-stabilize their defensive lines against the Filth and had no time to pay attention to Klein.

Thud!

Klein heard the sound of boots landing; this time, he truly did not know where Trissy had teleported him to.

"Did you really think you could escape so easily?" Another charming yet holy voice rang out in Klein's mind, and the image of a beautiful woman appeared in his head involuntarily.

"'Despair Nightingale'!" Trissy shrieked, and in the next instant, she began to struggle frantically. Klein's body fell heavily to the ground, rolled once, and finally broke free from that embrace, seeing what was happening before him.

He saw a holy lady dressed in a simple, pure white robe, while Trissy, who had brought him here, had her black hair dancing wildly, her eyes erupting with eerie black light.

This was a Witch Demigod! Klein remembered the one he had seen when he was in Tingen.

"Your existence is to become a vessel for my Lord; this is your Fate." The Despair Lady's words were filled with reverence and piety, though this was directed at the True God who was about to occupy Trissy's body.

"You had everything prepared long ago?!" Trissy stared fixedly at the Crystal Ball in the Despair Lady's hand, which had already turned pure black.

Her final teleportation destination was her own safe house, but an Error had occurred upon landing; she had been attracted by something and had involuntarily changed her landing point!

"Is it the Law of Convergence or my soul?!"

Trissy felt an extremely powerful attraction from that Crystal Ball; she couldn't even summon the thought of fleeing.

"This is your Fate." The Despair Lady held the Crystal Ball, and the darkness within it writhed as if it had a life of its own, causing a layer of Shadow to stain Trissy as well.

"Get lost!" Trissy let out a sharp scream, and a certain power spread out; the Sapphire Ring bloomed with radiance, amplifying her power to a level sufficient to contend with the Despair Lady!

The Despair Lady looked at the Sapphire Ring with apprehension; this was an item of the "Primordial Witch," and they, as believers, could not interfere with it.

And the fact that the prematurely matured Trissy could use some of the power of the sapphire was already somewhat beyond their control.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sounds of destruction from the battle between the two Witches with Demigod combat power rang incessantly in Klein's ears, and it was at this moment that Klein saw the Despair Lady suddenly transform into a Mirror!

The Mirror shattered upon hitting the ground, but Klein's eyes underwent a corresponding change, becoming clear and holy.

Hum... this is the moment!

Klein abruptly activated his "Person in the Painting" ability, projecting himself directly into that Mirror. His body gradually faded, and he finally broke free from the restraints of the ice and spider silk.

Klein regained his freedom and jumped into the Mirror.

"That was close!" Klein felt that this time was even more terrifying than the last; he had almost truly been caught by the Witch.

"Ah! You are mine!" Trissy's voice seemed to pierce through the barrier between the mirror world and the Real World.

Klein's Spirituality intuition sounded a loud alarm. He looked up abruptly and saw an Ice Spear stabbing straight toward him, intending to destroy all the mirrors!

Boom!

Klein had no time to block; the mirror shattered at this moment, no longer possessing the corresponding concept of a "painting."

He was forced to jump out of the mirror, but he dared not jump into the eyes of Trissy or the Witch Demigod—wouldn't that just be a suicide mission!?

Klein jumped out of the mirror surface, choosing a clever spot: the Dream Statue was right in front of him, within reach.

The Statue was not too large; he could certainly move it by himself, but why move it?

Klein flicked out a silk canvas that happened to cover the Dream Statue.

This silk canvas was hidden in Klein's pocket, prepared specifically for using the "Person in the Painting" ability.

The moment the canvas unfolded, one could vaguely see various realistic paintings on it: a revolver, bullets, matches, and even a wallet.

After becoming a "Person in the Painting," he had turned almost all the weapons and sundries he carried into Painted Objects, placing them within this canvas to create a quasi-spatial pocket.

In any case, taking these things out only took a thought, even faster than using his hands, and most importantly, it was very safe; his wallet would never fall out.

And now, all Klein had to do was take the Statue away; this was a subconscious action, and he hadn't even thought about whether this Statue would be of any use.

He was, after all, a true Dream believer, and he still had the obligation to save the Statue of his faith. Of course, the key was that this Statue did not contain a Beyonder Characteristic and belonged to the category of items that could be stored in a painting.

In the next instant, the Statue disappeared into thin air, and a lifelike Statue appeared on the canvas.

"Go!" Klein grabbed the canvas, snapped his fingers, and used Flame Jump!

This was underground; there was no shortage of lamps for illumination.

After several consecutive jumps, Klein finally moved far away from the battlefield of the two Witches.

"Too dangerous!" Klein panted heavily, his Spirituality consumption immense.

Roar!

But before he could even rest, a "Demon" pounced on him, aiming to bite through his throat.

This underground cavern was something the Blood Sect had prepared for who knows how long; naturally, it had the most Demon guards!

The crazed Blood Sect had even concentrated half of the active forces of those few major Demon Families here, with the other half in the Backlund East District.

Klein had escaped from a Demigod, but what he had to face next were Demon guards of unknown numbers.

"Demon Transformation!"

Klein realized where he was in the first instant and then made the best choice.

He copied the Demon's "Demon Transformation" through "Mirror Image," and then used the power of "Faceless" to truly turn himself into a Demon!

So, as long as he killed the Demon in front of him who had seen his true form at the fastest speed, he could blend into the ranks of the Demon guards!

Klein's eyes changed instantly, becoming fierce, brutal, and bloodthirsty!

One more chapter, in a bit.
