Chapter 59: Tide

~7 min read 1,251 words

The newly promoted Dream Apprentice Bethel followed Chumen back to the Dream Territory.

"Has Sasriel ever spoken to you about me?" Chumen asked Bethel.

Bethel was still somewhat dazed to this day, to the point that his poker-faced expression was struggling to hold.

Being granted a surname by the Creator was already an unimaginable honor, and now, being taken as a student by an Angel, life felt like a dream.

"Your Highness... Teacher, you are the strongest Angel under the Creator, the embodiment of the world's Dream, the light of tranquility in a mad world..."

"Stop!" Chumen's mouth twitched. Hearing such words during a prayer was fine, but being praised like this face-to-face was truly awkward and made him feel completely uncomfortable.

"I am asking you why Sasriel recommended you to me."

"Oh..." Bethel instantly realized he had missed the point and wanted to explain, but he got stuck, "... I don't know either."

"Uh..." Sasriel just wanted to shove this apprentice onto him.

"Hmm, have you read *The First Radiance of Fire* and *The Twins*?"

"Those are two history books, compiled by certain scholars in the God's Kingdom, but to be honest, they are poorly organized and filled with all sorts of unreliable legends; they are long-winded and stinky."

But it cannot be denied that they record much of the superficial information regarding the various Ancient God factions.

"Er..." Those clear, azure-blue eyes flickered slightly, and his expression appeared somewhat embarrassed.

"Teacher, those two books were compiled by my father and me."

Oh? Chumen was actually surprised.

"No wonder Sasriel recommended you to me." Chumen nodded calmly, completely forgetting his previous critique of those two books.

"Then organize the figures and relationships of the Ancient God races at the Demigod level and above for me." Chumen ordered directly; this was how all apprentices were used.

Writing a story required all the data on everyone at the Demigod level and above; one could imagine this would be a monumental work that would draw a perfect period for the Second Epoch.

If Chumen could consume a Potion, the "Visionary" one would probably melt in his mouth.

"Yes!" Bethel nodded solemnly; someone who could sort out the history of the Ancient God races naturally possessed such ability.

"Besides that, if you have any questions regarding mysticism, you can ask me. I am also a teacher for the first time and don't know much either."

Chumen thought for a moment, finally hand-crafted a Dream Badge, and tossed it to Bethel.

"This is proof of being my student. Remember, from now on you are the proxy of Dream, and you must abide by the teachings of Dream!"

Bethel accepted the Dream Badge with a serious and excited expression.

Afterwards, Chumen was even somewhat amazed at Bethel's sensitivity to history and his grasp of story progression.

If he had chosen the "Fool" Pathway, Bethel probably could have become the most excellent historian.

Under the influence of some force, history surged forward in a boiling state, and the entire world fell into turmoil.

The Elf, Dragon, and Creator's Divine Kingdom factions attacked one another, igniting a war that swept across the entire world; the Giant and Phoenix were also unwilling to be left out, both coveting the Characteristics on each other.

Time seemed to have regressed to the era when the Ancient God conflicts were most intense; the various races attacked one another, and the intensity of the war rose year by year.

This was a war that truly erupted from the bottom up, one that even the Ancient Gods could not stop.

Using a Demigod as a trigger, an entire transcendent race's Demigods were dragged into a carefully constructed web of relationships.

And Demigods were the backbone of every race, even the ties connecting the Ancient Gods to the lower-level clansmen.

Taking the Giant race as an example, the Giant King's gaze had never focused on Giants below the Demigod level, and his subordinate gods would not have any intersection with a Sequence 5 Giant.

Only Demigods could enter the sight of the gods without being too detached from the lower levels.

When the race's Demigods fell into conflict, the turmoil would reach the lower levels of that race.

When the lower levels were sufficiently chaotic, it was only natural for Demigods to move and Angels to take notice.

The intensity of the war rapidly spread to the subordinate god and Angel tiers.

"It is time." Chumen in the Dream Territory suddenly felt a premonition; the prophecy of the Sage's Robe had been triggered.

His mind sank into the darkness, and suddenly, a heart-stopping thunder exploded in his ears. Chumen struggled to open his eyes and finally captured a clearer image.

The thunder pierced through him.

"I was struck by lightning?" Chumen was surprised, but not panicked.

The Elf King's lightning pierced through him, yet it could not kill him.

"The great Creator will reclaim all His Authority when the epoch ends; it all begins with the Elf."

Chumen picked up the Alusuhode Pen and wrote this line. The tide of history rolled in, and everything else needed to be created by them themselves.

"Bethel." Chumen put down the pen and called out.

Bethel had been Chumen's disciple for decades; with the protection of Dream, his Sequence path had been exceptionally smooth.

But he was never impatient; with the premise of the Acting Method, it still took him nearly a hundred years to become the current "Mifaoshi".

That's right, he was already a Demigod.

"Teacher!" Bethel still looked like a young man; his teacher had always been dressed as a young man, so he, the disciple, could not be too old either.

"You don't need to organize those things anymore." Bethel was already mature enough, but those azure-blue eyes still trembled slightly.

Whenever Chumen gave him time off, he would always slip away to Travel to various parts of the world, witnessing the differences between the city-states of the world.

At the same time, he could observe the signs of the impending change of eras in books and in Reality.

After so many years, he had long understood what kind of work he was doing.

"Those are all things that are about to be swept into the heap of history." Chumen stood up and put away the Alusuhode Pen.

"Teacher, where are you going?" Bethel couldn't help but ask. He had guessed something; that sense of epic scale made his heart race.

"To cause trouble for the Elf." Chumen laughed, "If you are interested, you can also go fight, for the Creator, and for us, the human race."

"My student cannot hide in the rear waiting for the results." Chumen encouraged.

The "Mifaoshi" Bethel was already powerful enough to stand on his own.

It was just that his teacher was a bit too powerful, suppressing the brilliance of a prime-aged Demigod.

"Yes!" There was a look of excitement on Bethel's somewhat rigid face, feeling honored to be able to participate in this historical moment.

"Then I will be going now." Chumen left directly by Roaming, arriving at a territory not far from the Elf Divine Kingdom.

This was a battlefield for human Beyonders and Elves, where Beyonders from the Creator Kingdom were conducting a "Holy War."

Angels such as Medici, Leodero, and Ouroboros were all here; it was conceivable that the intensity of the war here had reached the most terrifying level below the gods.

"Gaoxinamu." Chumen looked at the Elf Queen standing among the Elf army.
