Chapter 87: Driving Away
"So, do you agree to this transaction?" Chumen suppressed his surging thoughts and asked Antigonus.
Antigonus had completely lost his focus, only subconsciously shaking his wolf head, and the Spirit Worms darting around his body had inexplicably calmed down.
"This Unique..." Chumen decided to take it as an agreement, and ignoring the two dazed Destruction Demon Wolves, he picked up the "Fool" Unique directly.
This was an illusory mask, with only hollows where the eyes should be.
If one were to stare into those hollows for a few moments, they would feel their own intelligence plummeting rapidly.
This was the effect of the "Fooling" Authority; when no one was using it, it presented this simplest application.
"In a thousand years, you can come find me to trade back this Unique." Chumen said this final sentence, left behind the Potion Formula, and then Roaming away directly.
Antigonus and his sister were still in a daze, unable to even comprehend everything that had just happened before them.
"So we are safe?" Antigonus was the first to come to his senses, his muddled wolf head gently rubbing against his sister.
"I suppose so..." Antigonus's sister walked cautiously through this mountain forest, finally arriving before the stone tablet engraved with the word "Hornacis".
"We are truly safe." The sister sensed the protection that was real and true for this mountain range, and finally nodded.
Antigonus lay on the ground, his eyes flickering, "Dream...?"
"Sister, let us create a Hidden kingdom." After reading the Potion Formula and thinking deeply, Antigonus proposed the idea of establishing a Hidden kingdom.
"Both you and I need believers; they can help us stabilize our state."
Chumen had thoughtfully attached a great deal of occult knowledge to the back of the Potion Formula, regarding "Anchors" and regarding humanity.
"Then let us go plunder those human city-states!"
"No! We cannot harm our believers; we must even let them willingly believe in us and become our 'Anchors' of their own volition."
Aside from the Evernight and the Wish, the last two Destruction Demon Wolves were cautiously planning their own little lives.
Chumen did not actually want "Mysteries" to resurrect, so naturally, he did not take the "Attendant of Mysteries" Characteristic.
"Still missing 'Error'," Chumen scratched his head, "I can't just kill Amon, can I?"
He was, after all, his own student.
"Perhaps this is just right..." Chumen suddenly thought of the problem of "Mysteries" resurrecting.
He hadn't even taken the "Attendant of Mysteries" Characteristic, clearly showing he only wanted to Utilization these Uniques and did not want "Mysteries" to truly wake up.
To him, both "Mysteries" and "God" were extremely dangerous.
"Using 'Myriad Phenomena' to replicate 'Error' instead of taking the actual Unique is better at preventing 'Mysteries' from truly rising from the dead."
He was holding three Uniques to counter the highly likely resurrection of "God"; if he created another "Mysteries", he might be sliced up by these two, one half each.
Besides, even if "Mysteries" didn't resurrect, he would probably be very happy to nail down the coffin lid of his old rival...
Chumen returned directly to the Fairy Tale Castle and put on the gray-white, illusory Fool Mask.
"Fooling"!
Little Amon's expression became dull, his intelligence forcibly lowered; at such a young age, he was already pondering the profound question of "Who am I?".
And Chumen's movements were swift enough; he flipped open the "Myriad Phenomena" page of the Dream Book and directly performed a replication on Amon!
In just an instant, the replication was complete.
For things below the level of a deity, the restrictions on "Myriad Phenomena" were almost non-existent.
Afterward, Chumen nodded in satisfaction, erased himself with Hidden abilities, and returned to Amanises's Hidden World.
Amon was still holding the "Brass Book" and only reacted after a few breaths, yet he was unable to truly realize what had happened.
"What's going on?! Why did I become stupid?" This was likely the greatest unsolved mystery of Amon's childhood.
After returning to the Hidden World, Chumen immediately switched his state to "Error"; the power of "Imagination" faded, even causing Chumen to sense a feeling of weakness.
"'Error' is still too weak," Chumen shook his head gently, reached into the void to take out a Monocle ground from crystal, and gently clipped it onto his right eye socket.
Hum!
The two Uniques on Chumen's body—the illusory Fool Mask and the pair of eyeballs condensed from starlight—both hummed and trembled, as if they had sensed something, with a faint force of aggregation pulling at them.
"Ha!" Chumen laughed out loud; just as he expected, the Monocle he replicated had greatly weakened the aggregation force, and he could even use this thing to interfere with the resurrection of that "Lord of the Mysteries".
"Sefirah Castle..." Chumen also had a strange intuition; if he didn't consider his wariness of "Sefirah Castle", he might be able to try jumping onto "Sefirah Castle" after leaving this Hidden World and take control of that place.
Of course, if he did that, the resurrection of "Mysteries" might become unstoppable.
"Let's try it."
Before Chumen prepared to begin some dangerous attempts, the Hidden Angel appeared behind Chumen, staring fixedly at Chumen's back.
She was on guard against a certain will that might resurrect.
"There shouldn't be a problem," Chumen explained, then grabbed the illusory mask and pressed it onto his face.
The "Error" Unique he replicated for his right eye and that mask seemed to construct a wondrous connection, gradually merging, and certain things contained within the Fool Mask began to resurrect!
"Error!" Chumen whispered, and the will resurrecting within the Fool Mask seemed to stall, an error occurred, and it could no longer wake up.
At the same time, intense Dream Phosphor flickered on Chumen's body, falling into the mask to neutralize that strand of mad will.
Two Uniques, one was fake, possessing Authority but no substance; only one had the possibility of madness and resurrection, and even that one lacked the support of Sequence 1 to Sequence 9 Characteristics.
Gradually, that mad and resurrecting will subsided.
Chumen had temporarily pressed down the coffin lid of "Mysteries".
But the next moment, his hands were already clutching those two eyeballs made of starlight.
"It is very dangerous," the Hidden Angel suddenly spoke; she controlled a portion of the Authority of Fate and had a bad premonition about the attempt Chumen was about to make.
"Maintain the minimum level of stability..." Chumen stopped; "Error" also possessed a portion of the Authority of Fate, and he too felt a certain crisis.
"The combination of two Uniques would inevitably lead to that person's resurrection; one real and one fake is already the limit."
One could only say that that person's power, or rather, tenacity, exceeded Chumen's imagination.
That the Destruction Demon Wolf could swallow a portion of the "Attendant of Mysteries" and "Fool" Unique without letting that person resurrect was likely due to the interference of the "Evernight" Characteristic.
"Keep it! This will be an important means for me to deal with 'God'!"
