Chapter 89: Setting Off
Taking Amon to the Starry Sky...
Chumen's gaze lingered on Amon, watching as the young Amon's smile gradually stiffened.
"What's wrong? Teacher!" Amon's smile was already on the verge of breaking.
He emphasized the word "Teacher" once more, but both Chumen and Bethel knew that this brat didn't have a shred of sincerity.
He was merely too curious about the Starry Sky, and thus had to lower his posture to come here.
This was also one of the few times in these past few years that Amon had called him "Teacher."
He likely never felt that an Angel of Angels who stood on equal footing with him could be his teacher.
However, a few years were enough for Amon to realize the miraculous nature of Chumen in various aspects.
He possessed many powers that Amon greatly coveted but could not steal!
"Fine." In the end, Chumen nodded lightly; after all, it wasn't me providing the protection, so the pressure of bringing one more person would be on the Creator anyway.
"Pray to the Creator and seek protection for traveling to the Starry Sky." Chumen looked at Bethel.
As for Amon...
"Go ask your father for a drop of Creator Divine Blood; consider it your round-trip fare."
"Alright!" Amon agreed without hesitation; he knew what kind of place the Starry Sky was and understood that this might be his only chance to step into the Starry Sky for a very long time.
Chumen took advantage of this time to briefly arrange matters for the Dream believers; with Hermes managing things, there wouldn't be any problems in the Dream Territory.
Incidentally, he also notified a few of his friends.
The Starry Sky was vast, and he could not guarantee that he would be able to return in a short time.
Of course, the connection between the Dream Kingdom and them should not be completely severed.
Theoretically speaking, a True God has already become a concept within the universe, and an Oldest One is even more capable of becoming an important part that constitutes the universe.
For a specific reference, look at the "Pillar" of three manifestations and one concealment.
And the status of the Dream Book is equivalent to a Source Quality, so it would not be much lower than an Oldest One.
The protection of the Ancient Sun God arrived quickly; a ray of sunlight descended from the sky, wrapping around Bethel's body and gradually merging into it.
This was power at the level of a Quasi-Old One.
"Here you go!" Amon's speed was also ridiculously fast, bringing over a piece of pure crystal.
Inside was a drop of chaos-colored Creator Divine Blood, containing unimaginable power.
To Chumen, it felt extremely like a concentration of the seawater from the Chaos Sea.
"Prepare to set off!"
After Chumen had arranged everything, he did not delay, stepping directly into the Astral World under Sasriel's complex gaze.
"A bit envious, how come..."
This was probably the feeling of seeing a colleague who always worked with you go on annual leave, and this "year" was a unit of time.
Likewise, the few friends most deeply involved with Chumen also sensed the departure of the Dream Book.
"To think they actually ran off to the Starry Sky..."
Chumen took Bethel and Amon and stepped into the Astral World in one stride.
The Astral World is not the Starry Sky; after all, there are some differences. This is a world composed of Symbols and Authority. What it has in common with the Starry Sky is that it is also vast beyond description, dark and profound.
The difference is that the Astral World is a collection of concepts.
Those stars hang in the depths of the Astral World, emitting real light and heat, but if one approaches, one can only see a "Sun" painted in oil colors; that is the concept and Symbol that constitutes the sun, possessing real power.
Chumen stepped onto the Barrier, looking at those illusory and brilliant stars.
"It's very dangerous outside!" Even Amon, this fearless brat, was full of wariness toward the world outside the Barrier.
"I am full of all kinds of Fantasy about the outside world, but I have never tried to take a single step out." Bethel looked at the world beyond the Barrier, his eyes filled with heavy longing.
Becoming a "Traveler" and possessing the ability to enter the Starry Sky and go to different planets, yet only being able to be trapped within the Barrier—for a qualified "Traveler," this was truly a form of torture.
It was also because of this that Bethel's Potion digestion was stuck at the final step.
"Then let's go out." Chumen also revealed a smile; regarding the Starry Sky, what human would not have curiosity and awe?
He did not use the Dream Book, because that would be too conspicuous and would certainly not escape the gaze of the Outer Gods.
He used the "Traveler" ability on the Ancient One's Glove.
Amon glanced at the glove on Chumen's hand, gently pushed up his Monocle, and suppressed his desire to steal.
Chumen's Ancient One's Glove had always been one of the things Amon most wanted to steal.
Because the three Pathways represented by this glove were fused too perfectly.
Hum!
The pair of Starry Eyes on Chumen's body shone slightly; the "Door" Authority they represented caused the power of the "Traveler" to undergo a certain qualitative change.
"Go!" Chumen suddenly grabbed his two students and jumped toward the outside of the Barrier.
The Barrier does not block people from this planet from going out, so this action was simple.
But it was this jump that made Amon, this God of Pranks, feel an unprecedented thrill.
The intense sense of life-and-death crisis and the sense of security from being protected made every one of his Worms of Time cheer and leap for joy.
It was a pleasure he had never felt even when he tried to Steal his teacher's "Dream Book"!
A step away, yet two different worlds.
Endless and terrifying Corruption from the Outer Gods roamed in the vacuum, like tides, like light, wanting to completely envelop those who fell into it.
"What are you doing?!" Amon suddenly screamed, because he discovered that Chumen had not yet performed conceptualization, nor had he used his father's power!
"It's nothing, just saw something familiar, feeling a bit emotional." Chumen was dazed for a moment because he had seen the real Moon.
The Moon is not perfect, nor is it pure; it is just a very ordinary celestial body, emitting a faint glimmer.
But this was the real Moon, the same as the one deep within Chumen's memories.
Of course, there were also some differences; as Chumen looked at the Moon, the three of them all sensed a powerful Fallen force surging, which made the Corruption the three of them were suffering from a bit heavier.
Clang!
An ancient wall clock carved from stone appeared behind the three of them.
It was ancient and mottled, its surface divided into twelve grids by grayish-white and bluish-black colors, with different symbols flickering within each.
The bell toll rang out in this Starry Sky without the need for a medium, causing the surrounding time to come to a halt.
This bought Amon and the others a split second of time to save themselves.
"Bethel!" Seeing that Chumen still had no intention of taking action to deal with that Corruption, Amon knew they could only rely on themselves.
"Right!" Bethel responded immediately.
Protection from the Creator appeared on both him and Amon simultaneously, and pure, brilliant Sun light burst forth, Purifying all the Corruption away.
This was the meaning of the Creator's protection, enabling them to have the ability to resist the Corruption of an Outer God in the Starry Sky.
Amon's expression sank slightly as he looked at Chumen, and he suddenly discovered that the expression on Chumen's face was actually somewhat dim.
