Chapter 360: Luoning, Who Was One Step Behind

In the deep night, two powerful Meteor Knights stood in confrontation atop a dilapidated attic.

Luoning was bathed in a scorching aura, and the Flame Armor on his body illuminated the surrounding space like a bright lamp.

Having exchanged only a few rounds, he was evenly matched in strength, yet the opponent had managed to exert a certain level of suppression through extreme speed.

Fortunately, Luoning's senses were sharp, which allowed him to cope.

"Ever since I left Wushan Castle to stand on my own, the assassinations have been continuous. From Bronze to Gold, and now to Meteor Knights, I am curious: who exactly is sparing no effort to make me die?"

While speaking, he summoned his interface and added all 1159 Attribute Points to his Knight rank.

On the other hand, Ramsey's shock had not yet subsided.

He was absolutely certain that the person before him was Luoning, but how could the opponent be at the Meteor level?

An eighteen-year-old Meteor level?

What a joke!

Suddenly, a thought struck him: it was precisely because Luoning possessed heaven-defying talent that Wushan Castle feared someone would harm him before he could grow up, so they made him pretend to be a waste.

"Lulansi, what a deep scheme; we have all been deceived by him!"

He looked at Luoning, his gaze filled with cold killing intent.

Such talent could not even be compared to Crown Prince Jialete; if he did not take this opportunity to eliminate the opponent today, in another year or two, he feared he would not even be able to suppress him.

"You must die today!"

He roared, his body lunging forward violently, and with a sweep of his sword, the sword marks formed by Battle Qi spread through the air.

Pfft, crash!

Every table, chair, and wall touched by the sword marks was sliced apart, as fragile as if made of paper.

Luoning remained expressionless, and the Yanliu Sword surged with intense flames as he swung it.

Once Instant Burn was unleashed, the temperature in the room rose sharply, and the floorboards closer to them were even scorched black.

The two's attacks intersected in the air, erupting with astonishing energy fluctuations.

The flame impact and the sword marks collided and dissolved, emitting a sizzling sound.

The residual power from the explosion further ravaged the wooden building, which was primarily constructed of timber.

However, this was only the beginning of the battle.

Luoning and Ramsey did not stop after this collision of attacks; their figures wove and clashed amidst the chaos.

When their longswords crossed again, Ramsey felt his arm sink, "What is going on? How does his strength feel like it has increased?"

"Surprised?"

Luoning chuckled, changing the situation where he had been slightly suppressed, and took the initiative to attack.

Sharp Sword Radiance formed by Battle Qi splashed everywhere with every collision.

Pfft!

Amidst the sharp sound of tearing, Ramsey's Battle Qi Armor was sliced open, along with his clothes and flesh, exposing Along gash as blood seeped out and stained the area red.

Sss!

During the exchange, the opponent thrust his sword straight out, piercing Luoning's Battle Qi Armor; although he dodged in time, he was still left with a wound by the sharp blade.

The opponent was indeed worthy of being a Meteor Knight; besides being strong, his combat experience was also very seasoned. The sword techniques Luoning had practiced for so long under Ruidar and Maiken did not gain much advantage.

Although he held the advantage in strength, the opponent could immediately rely on speed and deflection techniques to contend with him.

If they continued to fight relying on the strength of a Knight, it would likely drag on for some time.

Luoning was not in a hurry, but Ramsey, wearing the Dog Head Mask, was anxious.

He had initially intended to kill with one blow, and after discovering Luoning was a Meteor Knight, he wanted a quick resolution. But fighting until now, even the building had collapsed, yet he was temporarily unable to gain the upper hand, and the opponent had not left any fatal openings.

If he continued to drag it out until he was surrounded by the Fifth Knight Order of Anbian City, he would be in danger.

"One chance; if I can't win, then I retreat!"

Ramsey's eyes became exceptionally sharp, and the aura around his body suddenly turned extremely cold.

He pushed off the ground with his toes to create distance.

"Trying to escape?"

Luoning was somewhat surprised, but he keenly sensed that the fluctuations on the opponent's body were becoming violent, "No, he is about to use a powerful technique."

His mind tightened; he had not yet mastered Scorching Ray, his strongest move, so the best he could bring out was a level-seven Battle Technique, which was also the "Fire Snake Wild Dance" passed down to him by Lulansi.

No longer hesitating, he immediately unleashed the Battle Technique.

On the other side, Ramsey was surrounded by blue water-attribute Battle Qi, mixed with cyan wind-attribute Battle Qi, forming a cyan-blue dual-colored water tornado.

"Wind-Water Tornado!"

Ramsey roared, his body spinning crazily, and the dual-attribute Battle Qi around him instantly formed a powerful whirlwind, lifting him up into the air.

The Wind-Water Tornado became more powerful as it spun; wherever it passed, whether it was the roof, the floor, or the hard rock on the ground, everything was easily torn apart.

Ramsey, in the air, controlled the Wind-Water Tornado and swept toward Luoning.

Whoosh~

The Flame Battle Qi on the Yanliu Sword was like surging magma; as Luoning swung it, a massive fire snake, ten to twenty meters long, detached from the longsword and lunged out, coiling around the Wind-Water Tornado at high speed.

"Heavens, what kind of terrifying battle is this!"

The patrolling Guards had already arrived, but they were all stunned upon seeing this scene.

A couple of them who were bold enough to try and rush in were forced back by the surging gale before they could even approach the core area of the battle.

Everyone realized that this was not something they could intervene in.

Ruidar and Qiaofuli also arrived.

"This is..." Qiaofuli looked stunned.

Ruidar, however, was very clear, "This is a battle between Meteor Knights; the Lord is in danger!"

He dashed in; although he was a late-stage Golden Grade Knight and could not contend with a Meteor Knight who possessed the power of assault, he was the strongest among those present, and he was the only one with any qualification to go up and help.

Just at this moment, the enormous fire snake bound the Wind-Water Tornado like a rope, then tightened, as if the Wind-Water Tornado were prey it wanted to strangle to death.

Ramsey, inside the Wind-Water Tornado, clearly felt the power of being trapped.

He let out a deep, fierce shout, and the erupting power tore the flaming fire snake into fragments!

The exploding flames splashed everywhere like fire meteors in the air, causing a raging fire.

The Wind-Water Tornado was indeed a secret technique, its power exceeding that of the Fire Snake Wild Dance.

However, although it broke free from the restraints and shattered Luoning's attack, its own power was greatly reduced.

Ramsey descended from the air carrying the remaining momentum, his longsword aimed at Luoning, who was being forced back by the impact.

"Die!"

With the momentum of a meteor, this move was meant to kill his opponent.

At this moment, the two elemental powers of wind and fire gathered before Luoning.

Before him, a Small Fireball, Fireball Technique, Wind Blade, and Wind Shield—four types of magic—condensed instantly.

The first three lunged toward his opponent, while the latter protected Luoning's entire body.

This was a Great Archmage's instant-cast magic; with Luoning's current strength, he could only instantly cast level 1 or 2 spells, and there was a time interval for the same type of magic.

A look of doubt flashed in Ramsey's eyes; how did four spells suddenly appear before Luoning?

He hadn't seen the other party use a Spell Scroll or cast magic either?

"Level 1 or 2 spells, what can they even do?"

Ramsey slashed down with his sword, and his Whirlwind Cross Sword Battle Technique sharply crushed these spells.

Luoning, however, took advantage of this gap to barely stabilize his figure and unleashed the Instant Combustion Fighting Technique.

But as the one on the defensive, he was clearly at a disadvantage; the point of collision was relatively close to him, and the shockwave struck Luoning's body with force, causing his internal organs to churn as he flew backward and crashed heavily onto the ground.

Ramsey was also shaken back by the shockwave but landed steadily on the ground.

"Although you interfered with me using magic, you still cannot escape the fate of death."

Wind Instant Step was activated, and he turned into an afterimage, killing toward Luoning.

But just at this moment, Ruidar's figure blocked Luoning's front, raising his sword to meet the enemy.

"Get lost!"

Ramsey shouted loudly.

The two men's longswords collided, and Ruidar only felt his arm go numb, the webbing between his thumb and index finger split, and blood splashed out.

The enormous impact force also caused him to be sent flying.

The disadvantage of a late-stage Golden Grade against a Meteor Knight was very obvious.

Swish, swish, swish...

Arrows pierced the air, shooting toward Ramsey.

"Protect the Lord!"

"Protect the Regiment Commander!"

The members of the Knight Order who had arrived rushed to support, and several Knight Squad captains began long-range attacks in an attempt to interfere with the enemy's movements.

"A bunch of rats!"

Ramsey could ignore these arrows, but he still needed to deal with the dozens of Battle Techniques bombarding him.

This once again bought time for Luoning.

He stood up, feeling dizzy and disoriented, not expecting that a failure in a Battle Technique would bring him such great trouble.

"The Scorching Ray secret technique must be mastered as soon as possible!"

He took a deep breath, and watching the assassin who had avoided the attacks and was still killing toward him, he quickly cast the Level 3 Magic, Speed.

Luoning only felt his whole body become light; this effect was much stronger than the Light Body Technique.

"Kill!"

Tseng!

He turned into an afterimage and charged toward his opponent.

Ramsey's brows locked tight, "Luoning's speed has also become faster, Level 3 Speed magic?"

Clashing again, both were more exhausted than before, falling into a stalemate.

"No, I cannot stay here any longer."

Ramsey used this impact force to turn directly, stepped on the Wind Instant Step, jumped out of the battlefield in a few flashes, and ran rapidly toward the outside of Anbian Castle.

For him, although the assassination failed, he had figured out Luoning's bottom line, so tonight's operation could still be considered a success.

"Pursue!"

The knights of the Knight Order shouted loudly.

"No need to pursue!"

Luoning shouted loudly.

Although Ramsey was also slightly injured, Ruidar was not even a match for one of the opponent's moves; letting this group pursue him would be no different from seeking death.

He had already communicated with Kaierluosi, telling him to rush over at the fastest speed.

"Qiaofuli, you take people to clean up here, the others guard the castle to prevent anyone with ulterior motives from entering or leaving. Ruidar, you come with me!"

"Yes!"

Luoning took Ruidar and followed quickly in the direction Ramsey had left.

He did not want to let this person leave. (End of this chapter)
