Chapter 207: Little Miss Miss Kelin~
Just as Lina was pondering what was amiss, Ellen widened her eyes in disbelief, shot up from her seat, and fixed her gaze tightly on the phone screen.
Her fingers slid rapidly across the screen; seeing this, a strange glint flashed in Lina's eyes.
Since she had known Ellen, the two expressions she displayed most often were laziness and impatience; the expression she wore now was simply unheard of!
Three parts confusion, three parts incomprehension, and four parts displeasure.
This instantly sparked Lina's interest; she drifted silently behind Ellen and cast a puzzled glance at the phone screen.
At first glance, there was nothing strange, just some group photos of men and women, but because Ellen flipped through them so quickly, Lina only felt that the man in them looked somewhat familiar.
At second glance, wait! Why did it feel like the man in every group photo was the same person?
At third glance, no way? Lord Ye Qingfeng?
"Lord Ye Qingfeng?!"
Lina covered her mouth with one hand and blurted out unconsciously.
"Ye Qingfeng? My lord?"
Hearing this, Ellen's hand trembled, dropping the phone onto her fleshy thighs; after bouncing twice, it came to rest in the gap between her legs.
"Lina? Did you just shout 'Lord Ye Qingfeng'?!"
Ellen's crimson pupils contracted sharply as she whipped her head around, only to see Lina wearing a smile.
She was all too familiar with this smile; ninety percent of the time while on duty, Lina's face bore this very expression.
It could not be helped; given Lina's professionalism, no matter what happened, shifting from any other expression to a faint smile might not even take a second.
"Yes, indeed~"
Lina clasped her hands together and held them sideways beside her cheek.
At this moment, two figures, one tall and one short, appeared outside the half-open door; the newcomers were none other than Lai Lai Kaen and Miss Miss Kelin.
Miss Miss Kelin had diligently completed her morning work and was now preparing to return to the break room for a brief rest, having coincidentally encountered Lai Lai Kaen along the way.
"This humble one shall accompany you."
Upon learning Miss Miss Kelin's intention, he showed a troubled expression and gave a light cough to mask his embarrassment.
Before Lina had finished making the cake and gone to Ellen's room, she had specifically asked him whether he wished to partake.
What else could Lai Lai Kaen say? He could only tactfully indicate that he was not hungry and modestly yield the entire cake to Ellen.
He had originally intended to wait until Ellen finished the cake before heading to the break room to rest, but upon encountering little Miss Miss Kelin who was about to go, he found it difficult to explain directly.
Although doing so might save Miss Miss Kelin's life, such an action would, to some extent, chill Lina's heart.
He admitted his culinary skills were not professional; the first time he saw a meal prepared by Lina, it instantly cured his nose, which had been blocked due to a cold.
Calling it a meal was generous; in Lai Lai Kaen's eyes, it was simply an unidentified mass, black and viscous in appearance, emitting a black gas that slowly enveloped the entire room.
Upon smelling that fishy odor mixed with other seasonings for the first time, he could not help but have a physiological reaction, yet to avoid offending Lina's good intentions, he could only force a smile and politely state that he was not hungry.
Fortunately, Lina was not the type to force others, so she could only express her regret that she would make it for Lai Lai Kaen next time.
Hearing this, Lai Lai Kaen could only twitch the corner of his mouth while backing out of the room facing Lina.
"I sincerely thank Miss Lina for her kindness; should I require it, I will speak up proactively. Until we meet again..."
"Ugh—!"
The moment the words left his lips, Lai Lai Kaen flashed out of the room, sprinted all the way to the restroom, propped his hands against the sink, and continuously emitted dry heaving sounds.
If possible, he wished his cold would continue; for the first time, he conceived the idea of voluntarily requesting leave.
For the first time, he bitterly resented why his sense of smell had to be so acute! He even entertained the thought of quitting and resigning, thinking he could simply bow his head to Hugo and let him send him back...
However, this thought existed for merely an instant; the next second, he fixed a fierce stare on the mirror and viciously tore this idea apart in his mind.
In the days that followed, Lai Lai Kaen was tortured by Lina to the point of being unrecognizable; learning from his pain, he decided to teach Lina cooking, solely to avoid dying young.
After so many years of effort, Lai Lai Kaen declared Lina his most successful student, after all, he had never taught anyone else.
However, since Lina had already evolved from producing unidentified masses to creating things that merely resembled food, he gave up after that.
It was hard to imagine... when he said to add salt, Lina, while asking how much to add, picked up white sugar and poured it into the pot.
No way? Are you serious?
Initially, Lai Lai Kaen once believed Lina possessed a belly-black personality, deliberately making unidentified masses for him to eat, but later he realized she was not belly-black! She was simply an idiot!

At this moment, outside the break room, Lai Lai Kaen and Miss Miss Kelin stared fixedly at the scene inside; seeing Ellen holding her phone with an incredulous reaction, followed by Lina also displaying a shocked expression upon seeing the phone.
Lai Lai Kaen and Miss Miss Kelin exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with questioning.
As everyone knows! In the ranking of Victoria Housekeeping members who maintain one or two unchanging expressions.
Lina, with her perpetual smile, undoubtedly claimed first place; ranking second was Ellen, who mostly displayed impatience during work, followed by a lazy expression when exhausted.
As for third place, that was Lai Lai Kaen himself.
Although his expression was solemn most of the time, among the many guests they encountered, there were inevitably a few heaven-defying existences.
This caused him to frequently lose control of his facial management; as for fourth place...
The number of expression changes Miss Miss Kelin underwent in a single day might exceed the total for the other three members of Victoria Housekeeping combined over an entire week.
"Mr. Lai Lai Kaen, what should we do?"
Miss Miss Kelin lowered her head timidly and softly, panic clearly visible on her face.
After all, the behavior of Lina and Ellen in the break room was too shocking for her, no less than asking her to make a socially bold speech on the street.
"Hmm... if we delay any longer, fearing it will be even harder to discover the cause of this matter." Speaking thus, Lai Lai Kaen took a step backward, "This humble one suggests we strike now with the momentum of splitting bamboo!"
"Eh? But isn't that rather inappropriate..."
After all, one ought to respect Ellen and Lina's privacy; besides, she was not that curious about it, well... actually, she was just a tiny bit curious...
The main reason was still that she felt she and Mr. Lai Lai Kaen were too few in number; rounding it off, it was three against one.
She counted as zero, Lai Lai Kaen counted as one, Lina counted as two, and Ellen counted as one.
No matter how one looked at it, defeat was already certain.
And the price of that defeat was...
"It matters not; leave it to me to resolve."
Lai Lai Kaen stood tall with his chest puffed out, wearing an expression of 'if I do not enter hell, who will?'
"Then I'll leave it to Mr. Lai Lai Kaen; I'll cheer for you."
Miss Miss Kelin widened her eyes in delight and spoke in a soft, gentle voice.
Boo-hoo!! Mr. Lai Lai Kaen~ Miss Miss Kelin will remember you!?????
