Chapter 237: Elain Is So Heavy

~6 min read 1,070 words

This black-and-white maid outfit, compared to her usual white shirt, added a touch of mystery and coldness, yet still retained the elegance and poise of a maid.

Elain leaned sideways, bent over, and sat on Ye Qingfeng’s lap, resting against him as she yawned, “I’ll nap for a bit—they’ll probably take another half hour or more.”

As she spoke, she lightly pressed her hands against her chest and curled further into his arms.

Ye Qingfeng wrapped his arms around Elain’s slender waist, his hand resting atop her black silk-clad thighs; as his fingers gently gripped, he felt the taut muscles—and soft fat?

Lowering his gaze, Elain’s pink lips were slightly parted, her brows relaxed, her lips curled faintly upward; in the play of light and shadow, her profile resembled the moon reflected on a lake—gentle and serene.

Ye Qingfeng asked softly, “Did Leikain send you back?”

“No, Lina allowed it after seeing how well I performed.”

Elain slightly furrowed her brow.

“Don’t talk anymore. Let me sleep for a bit—wake me in about twenty-five minutes. If Leikain sees me like this, he’ll nag again...”

No wonder Elain can fall asleep mid-sentence—how many insomniacs would envy this!

Ye Qingfeng moved with utmost care, one arm holding Elain’s waist, the other cradling her thigh, ensuring she wouldn’t slip.

Elain’s figure was similar to Zhu Yuan’s—tall, balanced, with graceful curves; her black slime resembled pudding, soft and gently rising and falling with each breath.

Holding her felt like embracing a solid mass of wool, still warm—but not light at all!

Even Ye Qingfeng’s body, strengthened by countless potions, felt the weight.

Elain! You need to lose weight!

Never mind... better not. Her proportions are nearly perfect—can’t even imagine what she’d look like after losing weight.

Ye Qingfeng stared at her peaceful face, his gaze blank, his thoughts drifting far away.

Peaceful moments... judging by the time, Ye Qingfeng gazed at Elain’s tranquil sleep and found himself reluctant to wake her.

Reluctant as he was, he still had to—this position, if seen by Leikain, would be disastrous!

Ye Qingfeng smoothed Elain’s hair and whispered gently, “Elain~ dear Elain~ it’s time to wake up.”

“Mmm~ no...”

Elain kept her eyes shut, clutching Ye Qingfeng’s collar with her fingertips, nuzzling her cheek against his chest as she mumbled sleepily.

Those three simple words brimmed with resistance to waking up.

“Nope~ Leikain and the others will be back soon.”

Ye Qingfeng was patient with Elain, poking her soft cheek with his finger, clearly feeling its bounce.

“Mmm...”

Elain opened her hazy eyes, propping herself up on Ye Qingfeng’s chest, slowly sitting upright, blinking around in confusion, her voice hoarse as she asked:

“How long has it been?”

“About twenty-five minutes—if you were right about that, they should be returning soon,” Ye Qingfeng replied.

“So annoying... I want to sleep!”

Elain reluctantly stood, but as soon as she took a step, her legs suddenly went weak; she quickly grabbed Ye Qingfeng’s shoulders.

“What’s wrong? Are you unwell?” Ye Qingfeng immediately steadied her, concerned.

“I’m hungry...” Elain murmured softly.

“What?”

“I’m hungry—Qingfeng, do you have anything to eat?!”

Elain sat on the armrest beside her, and as soon as she asked, she turned her head away, hopeless, staring straight at the ceiling, clutching her stomach and sighing.

“Of course... we’re still inside the Hollow—how could there be food? So hungry, so hungry!”

While Elain wasn’t looking, Ye Qingfeng pulled out a loaf of bread and a few of her favorite candies from his spatial backpack.

“Here!” He held them out to her.

“Bread? Candies?” Elain heard his voice, looked down, glanced at the food in his hand, then returned her gaze to the ceiling, “Guess I’m hallucinating from hunger—am I dying?”

Ye Qingfeng’s mouth twitched, his gaze toward Elain now tinged with exasperation.

This wasn’t hunger-induced hallucination—this was being starved into stupidity!

Ye Qingfeng tore open the bread and shoved it into Elain’s mouth, “What are you thinking? This is real food!”

“Mmm! Real bread!”

Elain pressed both hands to her mouth, swallowing the bread in one gulp.

“Here—candies too.”

Ye Qingfeng raised his palm.

Elain, tearfully grateful, snatched the candy, swiftly unwrapped it, popped it into her mouth, and quietly slipped the rest into her backpack.

Elain clutched the lollipop, tears welling, and hugged Ye Qingfeng’s neck tightly, “Qingfeng~ Wuwu ! I feel alive again!”

“Good girl.”

Ye Qingfeng smoothed Elain’s hair again.

In this perfect moment, the door opening sounded jarringly out of place.

Ye Qingfeng and Elain turned their heads in unison—the door stood wide open, Leikain and the others standing at the threshold, their gazes locking with the two.

“Oh? Looks like we came at a bad time~” Lina teased with a smile.

“Kel... Kel didn’t see anything...” Kelin covered her eyes, fingers slightly parted, her eyes blinking through the gaps.

“Elain, I told you before—maintain decorum during work. Get off Young Master Ye immediately.” Leikain stood firm, voice calm yet leaving no room for refusal.

“Yes—”

Elain flipped down to the floor, stood at attention with hands flat against her abdomen, her tongue nudging the candy inside her mouth, its bulge clearly visible on her cheek.

Leikain took a deep breath, his gaze sweeping over Elain, noting her indifferent attitude, growing momentarily pained, then settling on Ye Qingfeng.

“Young Master Ye, we’ve completed our inspection—the cause of the power outage is now clear.”

“There’s no signal inside the Hollow—I couldn’t reach Ling.”

Ye Qingfeng answered honestly.

“Understood. I’ll find a way to contact the Rope Master.”

With that, Leikain turned, glancing at Lina with a meaningful look, then left without delay.

(In the plot, Leikain just called someone—yet logically, there should be no signal inside the Hollow...)

After watching Leikain depart, Lina walked into the room with a smile, elegantly settling onto the large sofa, gesturing to Kelin, who stood helplessly by the door.

Kelin scurried over on her short legs, sat beside Lina, hiding behind her, timidly stealing glances at Ye Qingfeng.

“Young Master Qingfeng, please sit beside me,” Lina patted the empty space beside her, “Would you mind letting Elain have the sofa to rest?”

Without waiting for Ye Qingfeng’s reply, she looked at Elain and said, “Elain, you worked hard today—rest properly!”

“But—”

“You’re not a child anymore—don’t trouble Young Master Qingfeng, alright?”
