Chapter 241: Ways to Easily Handle Kelin
Ye Qingfeng feigned casualness as he lifted his gaze, glancing at Leikain.
As expected, Leikain wore an expression of knowing amusement, clearly seeing through Ailian’s subtle intentions.
“Cough! Ailian.” Leikain cleared his throat as a warning.
“Pfft... Even if that’s the reason, considering the average combat power of both teams, it’s a reasonable arrangement.”
Lina smiled sweetly.
How could she not see through Ailian’s little scheme? But this allocation was indeed logical.
(Kelin and Lina’s combat power is roughly level 2; Ailian and Leikain are at level 3, hence the assessment of balance.)
It has to be said that the plot of Zer0 is truly excellent, but you don't feel it until the second viewing.
By the way, Ye Qingfeng's estimated combat power is around level five; considering stamina, he can pass through a Level 4 Wraith without taking damage, though he'll expend most of his stamina.
The peak combat power in Zer0 so far is likely Xingjian Ya at level six, even without unleashing her demonic blade.
The only drawback is that there are too many ambiguous elements and foreshadowing, which isn't very friendly to fan authors...
“Combat balance? So in Victoria’s household, who’s the strongest?”
Ling asked curiously.
“Young Master Ye, you team up with Ailian!”
Lina clasped her hands together beside her cheeks, elbows pressed against the black Slime, and blinked at Ye Qingfeng.
“And Master Rope-Crafter, you join me and Leikain—is that alright?”
Every gesture exuded elegance.
To Ye Qingfeng, Lina’s unintentional movements carried an added touch of cuteness.
“Ling, is that fine with you?”
Ye Qingfeng did not immediately agree; he lowered his head to ask Ling’s opinion.
“No problem!” Ies nodded, then let out a pitiful whine, “Don’t ignore my question! Who can answer what I just asked?”
Lina took Ies from Ye Qingfeng’s hands; upon noticing this, Leikain immediately called out, “Alright everyone, let’s move out!”
With that, Leikain turned and walked away with Lina, while Ies, squeezed between the black Slime, wore a conflicted little expression—pained yet delighted.
He lay nestled in Lina’s arms, eyes half-closed in bliss.
Life is just like this~
Ye Qingfeng watched the two depart, then led Kelin and Ailian toward the electrical room.
On the way, he pondered Ling’s earlier question.
Though lacking concrete data, he leaned toward Ailian being stronger.
Ailian is unquestionably near the upper tier of level 3—a pentagonal warrior: strength, speed, aether resistance, defense, and constitution.
Like Ye Qingfeng, her only weakness is stamina.
If he must compare himself to Ailian directly—
Ye Qingfeng could only say that outside the Hollow, Ailian stands a chance against him.
Within the Hollow, with access to aether, he could easily reach level 5—and still not his combat peak.
Stamina and aether affinity are the conditions for further advancement.
With his current aether affinity at 20%, he could fully reach level 5 at 40%, and level 6 at 60%.
Beyond that, every additional 20% raises his level by one, and so on.
At 100% aether affinity, his estimated combat power would be around level 8.
(There’s another setting—the author doesn’t recall if it was mentioned—that after level 4, the gap between each level is enormous.
Also, level 2 combat power can instantly kill or defeat level 1 Hae without taking damage, and this pattern continues—this is the key standard for rating.)
While Ye Qingfeng was lost in thought, the trio arrived at the door of the electrical room.
After briefly assigning tasks, they moved swiftly; during the work, Ailian unusually did not slack off.
Seeing Ailian working energetically, Ye Qingfeng turned to help Kelin.
As he looked back, he witnessed Kelin’s terrifying strength and retracted his arm in stunned silence.
How could such a frail frame contain such immense power? Ye Qingfeng admitted he couldn’t understand it—and silently accepted it.
Realizing Kelin needed no help, Ye Qingfeng turned back to assist Ailian.
After roughly fifteen minutes, they finally completed the task.
Ailian, seeing it was over, hurried to the wall, pulled a candy from her pocket, popped it into her mouth, and closed her eyes to recover stamina.
“Kelin, are you tired? Come sit for a bit.”
Ye Qingfeng, seeing Ailian find a resting spot, called out to Kelin.
“No need, Young Master Ye should rest.”
Kelin waved gently, declining.
“Sit with me a while—the space is plenty.”
Ye Qingfeng shifted sideways, revealing a metal box covered in newspaper behind him—perfect for two people.
He sat first, moved his body to clear space, and waved Kelin over. “Kelin, come sit!”
“Ah! O-okay...”
Kelin moved to sit beside Ye Qingfeng, knees pressed tightly together, hands resting on her lap, shoulders hunched, eyes fixed on her toes.
She curled herself as small as possible, leaving ample space for Ye Qingfeng.
Ye Qingfeng clearly noticed this; he turned to look at Kelin. She sensed his gaze and lowered her head even further.
Ugh... don’t look at Kelin...
Ye Qingfeng raised an eyebrow at Kelin’s reaction.
This wasn’t just social anxiety—she was terrifyingly shy!
When she sat beside Lina, she seemed perfectly normal; only when he sat down did she become timid.
It’s normal—this was only their third interaction.
In that case, Kelin coming over at all is already impressive!
“Kelin, you can sit a little closer,” Ye Qingfeng said as softly as he could.
“N-no, this is fine for Kelin.”
Kelin stammered in refusal.
“But won’t that be uncomfortable?”
“No, I’m used to it.”
Kelin didn’t lift her head, shaking it slightly.
Ye Qingfeng hadn’t expected Kelin to be so unyielding—he was momentarily frustrated.
This was just empty words.
He decisively changed tactics: if soft approaches failed, he’d try force.
But too direct might make her run off again, like last time.
He needed force—with a little trick.
“Kelin, I’m a guest, right?”
Ye Qingfeng’s tone returned to normal, even carrying a hint of firmness.
“Y-yes...” Kelin whispered.
“Didn’t Leikain say you must look a guest in the eye when speaking to them?”
Ye Qingfeng crossed his legs, rested his elbow on his knee, clenched his fist under his cheek, and turned to stare directly at Kelin.
“He did! I’m sorry, Kelin forgot!”
Kelin started to rise, bowing rapidly in double apology.
She kept bowing and apologizing frantically.
