Chapter 4: Five-Colored Thread
Five-Colored Thread is a technique of Doflamingo, one of the Seven Warlords in the One Piece World, which shoots threads from the fingertips to cut and even pierce the target.
Qimu Chao originally thought to combine Chakra Puppet Thread with his family's sword style, and add some routines he had seen before his crossing, to create his own Magnetic Field Technique—Vacuum Sword Blade.
This move originates from the Sea Tiger Worldview as one of the Yuanzu Four Strong, the Absolute Oga's Hand, which is invisible sword qi formed by Oga reading the Imperial Classic Book and adding swordsmanship; cutting iron and steel is effortless, and a powerful Magnetic Field Strongman can even slay enemies from dozens of kilometers away with it.
However, the "Vacuum Sword Blade" Qimu Chao created is not genuine invisible sword qi; for now he can only release threads with form and color, and these threads can still cause sword‑like wounds, the damage being no less, but they fall short of his ultimate goal, so after much thought he decided to rename it.
Originally, Five-Colored Thread was merely a Magnetic Field Technique, and Qimu Chao has always executed it using Electric Current Propulsion.
But the last time Qimu Chao tested his own strength, he found his father and, in a duel with Qimu Shuomao, used this move; its speed was so fast that Qimu Shuomao couldn't react and it pierced his shoulder outright.
The ultra‑fast release and astonishing power of the "Unmarked Ninja Art" shocked Qimu Shuomao, and after learning that the technique was developed by Qimu Chao, he was at a loss for words.
"I originally thought that, no matter how strong your talent, you shouldn't be far from Kakashi—who would have thought…"
Having voiced that sentiment, Qimu Shuomao sighed and then began to laugh.
When a child surpasses his own, a father wouldn't feel anything, but as his twin brother, Kakashi must be under great pressure.
He is happy for Qimu Chao, yet also somewhat worried that Kakashi's mindset might become unbalanced.
After hearing his father's words, Qimu Chao also thought of Kakashi; as an older brother, he felt it necessary to do something for his younger sibling.
So he spent several days converting this Magnetic Field Technique into a Chakra Technique, wrote it onto a Secret Technique Scroll, and handed it to Qimu Shuomao.
After all, they're family; learning his own technique is no problem.
When the Magnetic Field Rotating Power Great Achievement is reached in the future, they may even possess Magnetic Field Power; in the Ninja World, a perpetually war‑torn realm, having an extra strength brings extra stability.
After receiving the scroll, Qimu Shuomao said nothing; he knew it was the child's intention. Having fully mastered Five-Colored Thread, he returned the scroll to Qimu Chao and warned him not to let Kakashi use the technique until his strength reaches a certain level.
And Kakashi, knowing his brother had developed a technique that could harm their father, felt a itch but did not bring it up to Qimu Chao until now.
This matter reminded Qimu Chao that he is no longer alone; he has family and bonds, and being strong while helping those around him become strong as well is the best.
In the future, when developing Magnetic Field Techniques again, he should also produce the Chakra version of the technique.
A few days later.
Early in the morning, after a night of practice and intending to nap, Qimu Chao was pulled out of bed by his mother: "Stop sleeping, Little Chao, today is the day to register for Ninja Academy."
"Huh?"
Although his father had told him a few days ago that he needed to go to school, Qimu Chao never expected the day to arrive so quickly.
After Qimu Chao finished washing up and went downstairs, he found that Kakashi had already finished breakfast.
It should be noted that these days Kakashi had been studying the Five-Colored Thread technique, sleeping later than Qimu Chao each day, so waking up this early clearly shows he knows about the registration!
"That kid... didn't even give me a heads‑up."
Muttering, Qimu Chao wolfed down breakfast in a flash and left with his father.
On the way, Kakashi, without turning his head, said to Qimu Chao: "Father told us yesterday that today we would go register, you just forgot."
Obviously, Qimu Chao's words just now were heard by him.
Along the road, many ninja parents could also be seen taking their children to Ninja Academy; upon seeing Qimu Shuomao, they greeted him and then praised Qimu Chao and Kakashi as outstanding talents.
Qimu Shuomao smiled in response, and some of the children accompanying the parents came up to greet Qimu Chao and Kakashi, while the more introverted ones did nothing.
At this stage, the Ninja Academy entrance test still requires children to know certain ninja knowledge, so most registrants are from ninja families, with only a small fraction from civilian families.
After bidding farewell to those ninja parents, Qimu Shuomao said to his two brothers: "See? This is interaction between people."
"After entering Ninja Academy, you will interact with peers like this, especially you, Kakashi—don't always train alone; make more friends at school."
Kakashi remained silent; he has never liked socializing since childhood, and he could only meet his father's advice with silence.
After a few more words, Qimu Shuomao escorted the two brothers into the school.
He doesn't think the most basic test of Ninja Academy could stump his two kids, unless they simply don't want to take it.
Later, Qimu Shuomao chatted with other parents at the school entrance.
An hour later.
Hundreds of children emerged from the school, some joyful, some sorrowful; in these times, a civilian becoming a ninja can bring economic and status improvement to a family.
Kakashi kept his hands in his pockets, expressionless; Qimu Chao smiled and kept greeting people he knew.
"How did the exam go? You two didn't purposely fail just because you didn't want to enter the school, did you?"
Qimu Shuomao asked the two of them.
He was indeed a bit worried about the two kids' antics; if they really did that, he would pull his old face to pull strings and still get both of them in.
"Stop joking around, Dad."
Kakashi gave Qimu Shuomao a blank stare: "This simple exam, no matter who… *cough*…"
Mid‑sentence, Kakashi coughed once, recalling a child he had once seen in the same examination hall.
As he spoke, he saw a father‑son pair with thick eyebrows, dressed in green tights and sporting odd hairstyles, walking out of the campus.
