Chapter 22: Five Elements Technique

Time flew by, and three days passed.

Looking down at Funancheng from high above, it was a scene of deathly, grey decay.

On the streets within the city, many Sangshi wandered aimlessly.

Several drones circled at an altitude of five hundred meters, transmitting everything on the ground back in real time.

"Director Liu, we have searched most of the area over these three days, but we haven't found any place where Sangshi are gathered in large numbers."

"Impossible. If Huolang said there is a Zombie King, then there must be a Zombie King. With a Zombie King present, a large number of zombies will definitely gather nearby. Lower the altitude of the drones and search at a low altitude!"

"That won't work, Director Liu. At low altitudes, we will be attacked by Flying Type Sangshi. We have already lost fifteen drones."

"Then is it possible that the reason our drones are being attacked is because the Zombie King is controlling the Flying Type Sangshi to do it?"

"This... I'm not sure, but we really haven't seen any large-scale Zombie Group."

Just then, a middle-aged man walked over quickly, holding a laptop in his hands.

"Something's wrong, something is very wrong!" he said loudly as he walked.

"What's wrong?" the others immediately asked.

"I just watched all the videos taken by the drones and discovered a major problem."

"What major problem?"

The middle-aged man quickly arrived in front of the group and said to everyone: "Before the apocalypse, Funancheng had a population of nearly three hundred thousand, but the Sangshi captured by the drones now don't even total one hundred thousand."

"Furthermore, in that large area near the city center, not a single Sangshi can be seen on the streets. This is too abnormal!"

"What do you mean?"

"I suspect that a large number of ordinary Sangshi are hiding in the buildings in this area."

The middle-aged man paused and continued his analysis: "The Zombie King is very smart; it actually knows how to hide all the Zombie Group under its command. But it didn't expect that by hiding them like this, it would create a huge contrast with other areas."

"Everywhere else, the streets are full of wandering Sangshi, yet in this city center area, there isn't a single one. Isn't this just trying to cover one's ears while stealing a bell?"

"So I am certain that a large number of Sangshi must be hiding in the buildings in this area. Just let a drone fly over and see," the middle-aged man said with great certainty.

"Use an FPV drone. Ordinary drones are too slow and easily shot down by Flying Type Sangshi. FPV drones are fast and not easily hit," an old man said indifferently.

"Fine, then send an FPV drone over."

"First, check Huimin Shopping Mall. That's where Huolang and their Armored Vehicle and cars met with trouble."

Underground parking garage.

Chen Yusheng was still buried in cultivation.

In three days, he successfully cultivated his True Qi to one hundred strands and initially opened the Meridian from his Tanzhong to his entire right arm.

The Tanzhong is located on the chest and is an acupoint naturally opened in the human body; most of the True Qi Chen Yusheng cultivated is stored here.

After opening the Meridian from the Tanzhong to his right arm, Chen Yusheng's casting speed and Talisman-drawing efficiency increased significantly.

Previously, it took him about four or five seconds to draw a Soul-Suppressing Talisman in the air, and he could only infuse it with one strand of True Qi.

Now, when drawing it again, he could complete it in just three or four seconds, almost compressing the speed to the limit.

Moreover, after the Meridian was widened, the True Qi output became more stable and faster, and the amount of True Qi that could be integrated was also greater.

In the basement, Chen Yusheng raised his hand into the void, and in less than four seconds, a Soul-Suppressing Talisman containing two strands of True Qi took shape.

With a Soul-Suppressing Talisman like this, even a Mutant Zombie probably couldn't withstand it.

Chen Yusheng flicked his finger, and the Talisman flew toward a group of ordinary Sangshi in the distance.

The next moment, the Talisman exploded, and a faint ripple of energy flashed and vanished.

A large group of ordinary Sangshi instantly collapsed to the ground, completely motionless.

After testing the power of the Soul-Suppressing Talisman after opening the Meridian, Chen Yusheng did not stop but continued to cultivate.

Next, he prepared to open the Meridians and Acupoints leading from the Tanzhong to his internal organs.

The Acupoints of the internal organs are very important; once opened, he would be able to cultivate the Five Elements Technique of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

Metal corresponds to the lungs, wood to the liver, water to the kidneys, fire to the heart, and earth to the spleen.

By opening the lung Acupoints and Meridians, he could use the lung pulse to convert True Qi into metal-attribute True Qi and cultivate metal-attribute Technique.

The metal attribute focuses on killing and cutting; it can change the shape of metal at will, turning it into a handy weapon; it can also be attached to weapons to make them incredibly hard; and it can condense into a Qi Blade, making weapons invincible.

If Chen Yusheng learned the metal-attribute Technique and condensed a metal Qi Blade directly on his weapon, even a Mutant Zombie with a body comparable to steel could be beheaded by him in one strike.

Like the lung pulse, opening the Meridians and Acupoints of the other internal organs also allows for the cultivation of corresponding attribute Technique.

For example, opening the heart pulse Acupoints allows for the cultivation of fire-attribute Technique. The fire attribute is the main force for long-range attacks and is also a mandatory Technique for ancient Qi Refining practitioners.

Opening the liver pulse Acupoints allows for the cultivation of wood-attribute Technique. The wood attribute can heal wounds and also perform auxiliary means, such as accelerating plant growth, using special seeds to entangle enemies, and so on.

The water attribute corresponding to the kidney pulse and the earth attribute corresponding to the spleen pulse also have their own respective abilities and Technique.

Besides this, once each attribute Technique is mastered, one can also cultivate stronger spells synthesized from multiple attributes.

For example, combining water, fire, and wood True Qi allows for the cultivation of the Thunder Method.

Combining water, fire, and earth allows for the cultivation of wind-attribute Technique.

Even just the water and fire attributes alone can condense ice-attribute spells... and so on, countless in number.

Just as Chen Yusheng was concentrating on his cultivation in the underground parking garage.

Outside the underground parking garage of the shopping mall where he was located, an FPV drone swept over rapidly.

Whoosh—whoosh—

The FPV drone first scanned the interior of the shopping mall building.

"No living Sangshi found in Huimin Shangcheng, but I saw some Sangshi corpses, firearms, and remains gnawed down to the bone on the fourth floor."

"The remains should be the people Huolang brought; it seems they had a fierce battle with the Zombie Group here."

"Continue searching."

Very quickly, the FPV drone circled the shopping mall building.

"Director Liu, these vehicles here must have been left behind by Fire Wolf and his group; the strange thing is, they are all parked at the entrance of an underground garage."

The drone operator hovered the FPV drone at the entrance of the underground garage.

There were no Flying Type Sangshi nearby, so he simply parked the machine directly above the entrance.

"There is definitely something wrong with this underground garage; have the drone fly inside and take a look," a middle-aged man said to the operator.

"That won't work, Director; the signal will cut out if it flies inside, and the repeater's signal cannot extend that far in."

In order for the FPV drone to fly to this shopping mall, a large drone carrying signal relay equipment was still hovering at a high altitude, which was the only way to ensure a signal over such a long distance.

"Have the relay drone rapidly decrease its altitude, then hover it right at the entrance of the underground garage; that way, there should be some signal inside."

"According to past experience, when a large drone is attacked by a Flying Type, we have about thirty seconds of time left; that much time is enough."

"But, if we do that, we will lose two aircraft."

"A loss is a loss; it's just two aircraft."

"Since that's the case, then fly it; this is where Fire Wolf and his group went missing, several vehicles are blocking the entrance, and the locations where the two Armored Vehicles were destroyed are also nearby, which means there must be a situation inside the underground garage, and we must investigate the situation inside."
