Chapter 130: Marvel: Awakening the Cosmo at the Start, Chapter 60

~3 min read 566 words

The lakebed of Fuhu began to squirm at this moment, as if a massive earthworm were churning beneath it; in the blink of an eye, it had shifted ten meters away.

"Want to run?"

"Do you think you can?"

Hawk sneered, watching the rapidly squirming lakebed, and gave chase once more, his right fist slamming out again.

The Hulk burst from the soil at this moment, eyes wide and roaring, taking the blow head-on with his chest; he was sent flying backward again, but at the moment he was sent flying, he hurled the object he had dragged out from beneath the lakebed toward Hawk.

It was a surfboard, which had been sleeping at the bottom of the Culver Culver Lake for who knows how long, already covered in moss.

Hawk watched the surfboard flying toward him, neither dodging nor avoiding it, and met it head-on.

Boom!

Hawk’s figure paused.

The surfboard shattered into two halves, grazing past his body and continuing backward with its momentum undiminished.

But that very pause gave the Hulk an opportunity.

"Bang!"

The surface of Fuhu churned with boiling spray as a green head suddenly broke through the water, followed by deep, gasping breaths of fresh air.

Having just dragged Hearing Hearing Natasha to a safe area, Gwen, panting heavily, felt her heart tighten and was startled when she cast her gaze toward the Culver Culver Lake and saw the green head emerging.

Just then.

The Hulk, with more than half of his body already out of the water, paused in mid-air, seemingly remembering something, and looked down to roar at the water's surface.

Hawk, who had grabbed the Hulk’s right leg again at the last moment, gave a cold smile; accompanied by the eruption of his Cosmo, he exerted force while in the water, dragging the Hulk—who was attempting to flee Fuhu—back into the depths and hurling him toward the Culver Culver Lake bottom once more.

The Hulk, thrown back into the water, looked at the surface within arm's reach, his limbs splayed as he tried to leave the water again.

Unfortunately, there was no chance left.

Boom!

As the Hulk’s entire back slammed heavily against the lakebed again, just as he intended to repeat his previous escape maneuver, Hawk had already caught up and, with a bang of his fist, flipped the Hulk over once more as he tried to burrow beneath the lakebed.

"Don't you know that the same move cannot be used twice against a Saint?"

"Go to hell!"

"Hulk!!"

"Roar!"

"Sonic Fist!!"

"Bang, bang, bang, bang!"

Beneath the water's surface, the spray churned.

Above the water's surface, water columns shot up.

One water column after another rose into the air, accompanied by the thunderous sounds from within the water; Gwen, who had run back to the lakeside, was stunned as she watched the water columns erupting continuously across the Culver Culver Lake.

But soon.

As the final sound vanished and the last water column fell, the once-boiling Culver Culver Lake surface returned to tranquility at a speed visible to the naked eye.

By the time Gwen reacted, the entire Fuhu had returned to its usual calm.

This is...

Is the battle over?

Who won?

Gwen’s eyes were wide open, staring unblinkingly at the Culver Culver Lake, filled with anticipation, terrified that the result she saw in the next second would not be the one she wanted!
