Chapter 148: Show of Force! (4000 First-Day Subscriptions Bonus!!!)

~9 min read 1,651 words

After Hawk left the Calvin Cemetery last night, he unleashed his full Cosmo and charged wildly all the way.

His destination was clear.

New Mexico, the home of General Ross, the Ross estate, and the Ross family cemetery behind the estate.

A grudge must be repaid!

Since Thaddeus Ross dared to dance on his sister’s grave, he would let Thaddeus Ross have his wish and have his entire family’s graves blown up.

Success depends on preparation; without it, failure is certain.

Hawk, who always liked to think things through comprehensively before doing anything, had long since collected information on Thaddeus Ross online.

Things like family estates and cemeteries were all public information.

So...

With his Cosmo fully unleashed, Hawk charged all the way to New Mexico on foot, leveled the Ross family cemetery, and then changed course, charging wildly in the direction of Quantico.

It had taken him less than three hours to charge from the East to New Mexico in the West, and now it had taken him another three hours to charge back from the West to Quantico in the East.

Merely leveling the Ross family cemetery was not enough to dissipate Hawk’s rage.

Instead, it only made his fury rise even higher.

On one hand, Thaddeus Ross had sent people to try and dance before his sister’s grave, which had already earned him a death sentence in Hawk’s heart.

Ross was a dead man; not even Jesus could save him.

On the other hand, Hawk wanted to settle this once and for all, to kill the chicken to scare the monkey, and to eliminate any future trouble.

He was kind, but he didn’t want others to mistake his kindness for weakness and come to provoke him by climbing over his head.

Hawk didn’t have the time to play these boring games with them.

He was busy.

Vibranium.

Searching for the entrance to Hell.

And...

The Reality Stone.

Just while he was accompanying his sister Anna for Christmas, Hawk had already been wondering whether he should even go to school after the New Year.

After all, he had already received an invitation from the New York University Law School, and he had already earned all the credits needed to graduate from Midtown High School.

Theoretically speaking, he didn’t actually need to go to school anymore; he would just need to attend graduation day when the time came.

So he had already been thinking about whether to head straight to Africa when school started next year; how could he have time to play games with these irrelevant people?

Therefore.

Strike one blow to avoid a hundred!

If he was going to fight, he would make them hurt all at once, so they wouldn’t dare look East again.

The most important point.

During Christmas, Anna had given him a Christmas gift and told him the location of the Abomination.

And it was at the Quantico military base, to be precise, in the underground prison of the Quantico military base.

Hawk had just been thinking about whether to deal with the Abomination or the vibranium first after the New Year.

Well, that was settled.

No need to think; Quantico had already thought it out for him, and even provided the reason for him.

So!

From New York City to New Mexico, and from New Mexico to Quantico, Hawk, who had been charging wildly the whole way, slowed his pace slightly upon arriving in Maryland, took some time to adjust his state, and then once again pushed his Cosmo to the limit.

Five seconds ago!

Carrying his rage, Hawk leaped up from the hillside behind the Quantico military base, looking down from above at the base below, and with a roar that echoed throughout the entire Quantico military base, he threw the punch he had been fueling with rage for six hours—the most powerful one yet.

"Thaddeus Ross!"

"Come out and die!"

"Boom!"

Hawk threw his right fist out.

In an instant, time vanished, space froze, and a fist shadow emerged from his right fist; as it headed toward a five-story building in the Quantico military base below, time shattered, and even space cracked like glass under the fist shadow.

The next second.

The moment the fist shadow landed on the surface of that five-story building, the latter also cracked like fragile glass.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Only when the building burst apart did the sound follow, the violent explosion completely rocking the entire Quantico military base.

After several months, the air-raid siren for an enemy attack was sounded once again at this military base, located on the edge of the District and adjacent to the FBI Academy and the CIA’s Langley Center.

Buildings were shattering.

The ground was trembling.

That five-story building was collapsing and shattering at a speed visible to the naked eye, and even the ground around it seemed to have been violently struck by something invisible falling from the sky, causing the earth to sink.

If one were to look down from the sky, they would find that a massive fist-shaped crater had formed on the ground, centered on the collapsing five-story building.

Hum!

Quantico’s fighter jets took off instantly, and seeing Hawk, who was carving an arc through the air and falling toward the base, they hurriedly moved to intercept him.

"Target acquired, requesting permission to fire!"

"Fire!"

"Copy that!"

The fighter pilot banked the jet, and the missiles carried under the fuselage ignited and were released, instantly screaming toward Hawk, who was in a state of freefall.

Hawk, who was falling, looked at the incoming missiles and extended his right hand.

"Clang!"

"What?"

The pilot’s eyes widened in disbelief as he watched Hawk wrap his right hand around the missile.

Their eyes met.

Hawk looked at the pilot in the fighter jet, the corners of his mouth curling up, and the moment he landed, his right hand, which was clutching the missile, squeezed violently.

Boom!

The missile detonated, and a brilliant flash of fire instantly engulfed Hawk before shooting into the sky.

The fighter pilot’s face lit up with joy.

"Did it work?"

"Bang!"

A streak of light shot out from the fire rising from the ground and reached the front of the fighter jet in the blink of an eye. With a thud against the nose of the plane, the pilot, still wearing a look of surprise, watched with pupils trembling like an earthquake at what he saw before him.

Hawk, who had leaped directly onto the nose of the fighter jet, gave the pilot he was staring at a wicked smile.

The pilot subconsciously reached his right hand toward the emergency ejection device nearby.

But...

Hawk’s fist was faster.

Boom!

The pilot’s head exploded along with the shattered windshield, and the out-of-control fighter jet spun left and right like a falling leaf, crashing toward the base’s fuel depot.

Rumble!

A more violent explosion rang out, flames shot into the sky, sparks flew, and with another tremor of the ground, the fire erupting from the fuel depot, like a dragon of flame, instantly swallowed a dozen federal soldiers who were running toward a safe zone with expressions as if their mothers had died.

Meanwhile.

Accompanied by the intense flames rising from the base’s fuel depot, Hawk, who had already left the moment the fighter jet lost balance, landed steadily once again, standing on the ground of the base.

Rumble!

Hawk’s heart stirred as he saw a tank with a dull yellow exterior driving toward him not far away.

The tank’s chassis jolted violently, its thick barrel retracted, and then a shell fired, booming right in front of Hawk; flames and smoke instantly engulfed him.

As everyone knows.

If there’s smoke, there’s no damage.

Just as the soldiers inside the tank were preparing to reload, Hawk, shirtless, burst out of the smoke again, reaching the front of the tank in the blink of an eye.

While Hawk’s left hand crushed the tank’s protruding barrel, his right fist slammed into the tank’s chassis under the gaze of the observation window.

The tank wasn’t blown away.

Hawk’s fist sank into it as if it were tofu; in the space of a breath, his entire arm was submerged inside, and then his right hand opened and grabbed the bewildered driver inside.

The next second.

Hawk pulled the driver out, and after a series of squelching sounds like pork being squeezed, a head that looked like it had been sliced a thousand times was dragged out.

It turned out that the tank’s chassis might have been tofu to him.

But it wasn’t for anyone else.

The other soldiers inside the tank stared with wide eyes, watching this inhuman scene unfolding right before them, especially as the image of a person being squeezed out through a fist-sized hole replayed in their minds, and they went completely insane.

They were truly insane.

Just then.

"Whoosh!"

An air-to-ground missile struck, emitting a rattlesnake-like hiss before hitting the tank directly in front of Hawk.

The exploding tank leaped into the air, engulfed in flames.

Hawk raised his eyes to look.

Another fighter jet, though this one was clever; after firing its missile, it did not linger at all, maneuvering away from the spot with a roar.

Rumble!

Inside the base's tank depot, following the roar of tracks, one dull-yellow tank after another drove over from not far away, then dispersed.

But the muzzles of these tanks, without exception, were all aimed at Hawk.

As the sound of air being torn apart rang out in the sky, three more fighter jets that had just taken off arrived at the scene and opened fire first.

Three air-to-ground missiles were launched first.

Bang, bang, bang, bang!

The tanks on the ground shook, and following the deafening sound of cannon fire, several shells followed closely, hurtling toward Hawk.

Hawk sneered.

"Whoosh!"

"Boom, boom, boom!"

Explosion.

Flames.

A deep crater.

And...
