Chapter 34: The Past Was the Past, the Present Is the Present
Hawk looked surprised.
Gwen, however, fell silent as she watched Hawk's expression.
Fake.
Too fake.
Gwen couldn't help but offer a sincere assessment.
"Your acting is really fake."
"Sorry."
Hawk shrugged: "I'm not a professional actor."
Yes.
Gwen had been outside for a while.
To be precise, she had arrived just as Peter was preparing to have a showdown with him, but she stopped in her tracks when she heard the commotion inside the gymnasium.
Gwen thought Hawk and Peter wouldn't notice.
But...
After awakening his Little Universe and gaining control over his first five senses, let alone Gwen's footsteps, Hawk could hear even the sound of leaves falling behind the gymnasium if he wanted to.
Peter, with his Spider-Sense, was the same, not to mention that this version of Peter was a genuine, mutated Spider-Man.
It was just that this Peter had likely only recently mutated and hadn't fully adapted yet, and Hawk's punch just now had also left Peter in a state of shock.
But under the reminder of Hawk's gaze, Peter quickly reacted and caught the sound of Gwen's breathing outside the gymnasium.
So, the two of them tacitly chose to shut their mouths.
Look.
This was yet another reason why Hawk liked the original Spider-Man the most.
He wouldn't offer any comment on the Amazing Spider-Man.
But the Tech Spider-Man?
Heh.
Hawk had no doubt that if it were the Holland-version Tech Spider-Man, that guy probably wouldn't even understand what he meant, and might even continue to chatter on and on incessantly.
No.
It's not "might," it's "definitely."
Hawk thought to himself.
Just then.
Peter also walked out from behind, and looking at Gwen outside, a look of surprise appeared on his face as well: "Gwen, you haven't left yet?"
