Chapter 401

~5 min read 873 words

He, Hawk, is one of a kind in his lifetime!

Just as Hawk obtained the specific coordinates of the island nation's S. H. I. E. L. D. base and had already driven from New York City to Washington D. C., Sharon, who was less than ten kilometers away from the Triskelion headquarters, also hung up the phone.

Seeing Sharon hang up, Natasha, who was on the side, immediately asked upon seeing this.

"What did Hawk say?"

"He said to let us go first."

Sharon relayed Hawk's answer and then looked at Natasha: "Hawk's attitude is a bit strange."

At first, when Hawk had just rushed back, Sharon, feeling the killing intent radiating from him, had already concluded that the Hydra members attempting to offend Hawk this time would end up the same way as those in Wakanda.

And in fact, that was indeed the case.

Hawk had been aiming to wipe out Hydra from the very beginning.

As a result...

After Hawk returned from the New York S. H. I. E. L. D. base, he told her that the subsequent matters were up to them.

Sharon didn't think much of it, assuming Hawk was just amused by the absurdity, and that he truly didn't want to get involved in their struggle with Hydra.

But now.

You go first.

This answer was very flexible; to Sharon, it sounded like Hawk had chosen 'or' in a multiple-choice question of whether to go or not.

Sharon frowned.

"I feel that Hawk's change in attitude must be due to something we don't know."

"..."

Natasha, listening to Sharon's words, seemed to think of something and looked at her: "I think I might have guessed why."

Sharon looked at Natasha.

"What?"

"This was originally Level 7 top-secret information."

Natasha shrugged and looked at Sharon: "Your security clearance is only Level 6, so by rights, I shouldn't tell you, but at this point, it doesn't matter anymore. Long story short, Hawk has a friend named Anna, who is suspected to be a member of Hydra."

Sharon widened her eyes and looked at Natasha.

"Really?"

"Previously suspected, now it's highly likely confirmed."

Natasha shrugged: "Commander Hand said Hawk received a phone call before leaving the New York S. H. I. E. L. D. base, and the name mentioned was Anna. You just said Hawk's attitude changed after returning to the hospital; if nothing else, it's because of this call."

Sharon frowned.

"Then he went to the island nation now..."

"I don't know, but it must be that after Captain and I left, Hawk discovered something else."

Natasha, who could only infer to this extent based on existing information, said this, then looked at Sharon: "But this is a good thing."

Sharon raised an eyebrow at Natasha.

"How so!"

"In the best-case scenario, Hawk will help us."

"The worst-case scenario should have been Hawk helping Hydra, but Hawk has already told you he will only stand by and watch."

Natasha said with a smile: "So this is actually good news for us; after all, you wouldn't want to see Hawk helping Hydra, would you?"

Sharon listened to Natasha's explanation, her expression dawning.

Natasha then said: "Actually, from this incident, we can see that Hawk still leans towards the neutral-lawful camp."

Sharon nodded subconsciously.

Indeed.

Because if he were of the chaotic-neutral camp, Hawk would only choose either S. H. I. E. L. D. or Hydra.

But right now, Hawk's choice is neutral while leaning towards their S. H. I. E. L. D.

This... is great.

It wasn't in vain that I didn't even have a Christmas holiday last year, following behind him and cleaning up his messes.

Sharon thought of the scene from last Christmas, thinking to herself.

The next second.

She looked at Natasha, her expression serious: "I hope Hawk discovers that the Hydra Anna lied to him."

Natasha nodded in agreement upon hearing this.

She hoped so too, because if that were the case, Hydra would be completely finished.

Once Hawk gets involved.

Hydra is 100% doomed; they might not even need to rush to the district to fight.

It's a pity Hawk hasn't decided whether to get involved yet.

So...

Just as the two women were talking, the voice of Commander Victoria Hand, who hadn't come this time but was responsible for providing information support for their operation from the New York S. H. I. E. L. D. command center, came through their earpieces.

"Attention, the Security Council motorcade is passing by soon. Natasha, it's your turn. Sharon, pay attention to support."

"Understood!"

"Received."

Sharon and Natasha stopped talking, sorted out their weapons, looked at the bridge leading to the Triskelion headquarters that had already appeared in their line of sight, took a deep breath, and looked serious.

"Achoo!"

"..."

Far away in the island nation, Hawk, who was currently standing in the island nation's S. H. I. E. L. D. commander's office, sneezed, subconsciously pinched his nose, then looked at a photo placed on the desk in front of him and reached out to take it.

Coming into view.

The photo showed two women.

One of them was Anna.

The other was a woman with long, vibrant green hair, much like a bamboo snake.

Who is this?

Hawk wondered curiously, then, feeling footsteps coming from outside, turned his head to look at the office door.

The next second.

The door opened.

Madame Viper, Ophelia, pushed the door open and walked in.

Eyes met!
