Chapter 50: Marvel: Awakening the Little Universe at the Start, Chapter 24
Gwen frowned as she looked at the girl in the photo, whose skin looked somewhat pale, but who was also smiling happily and clutching Hawk’s arm tightly with both hands.
A younger sister?
But she had never heard Hawk mention one.
Gwen caught the resemblance between the brows of Hawk and the girl in the photo, and her heart stirred as she thought this.
But...
She thought about it carefully and realized that Hawk had never mentioned this matter.
Had she passed away?
Gwen thought of the most likely possibility for why Hawk had never mentioned it, pondered for a moment, then set down the photo frame, placed it back on the nightstand, and stood up to walk outside.
Just as she reached the living room again, she suddenly realized something, slapped her own forehead, and turned back around.
She had forgotten to retrieve the envelope.
"Huh?"
"Where's the envelope?"
Gwen, having walked back into the bedroom, was slightly stunned to see that the envelope on the floor was gone again, then, seemingly thinking of something, she crouched down once more.
Sure enough.
The envelope had slid under the bed, likely blown in by the breeze she created when she stood up just a moment ago.
Gwen looked at the envelope that had slid under the bed, stretched out her arm, and reached inside to hook it.
Very quickly.
Her fingertips hooked the envelope.
At the same time...
Her fingertips also touched the tightly tucked-in bed sheet.
The moment her fingertips made contact with the bed sheet, a sensation of touching metal arose from Gwen's fingertips and traveled into her mind.
