Chapter 77: Marvel: Awakening the Little Universe at the Start, Chapter 36

~5 min read 813 words

"Ah!"

After Mary Jane saw clearly, she let out a scream, quickly ran in front of Harry, and then gave the still-dismayed Harry a hug: "Harry, Harry, when did you get back?"

Harry was happy.

He looked at Mary Jane as she let go of him, smiling and just about to continue their small talk, when Mary Jane hugged him again: "I'm busy right now, can't talk to you, see you later."

Clearly, at this moment, a good friend returning from England was not as important as Mary's desire to get a glimpse of the gossip between her best friend and the school's number one cold-faced man.

Therefore, after saying that, Mary Jane turned around again, watched Gwen, who was already about to walk into the lounge corridor in the distance, and hurriedly trotted to catch up.

It was obviously impossible for Mary to chase after Hawk to ask for gossip.

So...

For the whole morning, Mary chased after Gwen, looking pleading.

The central idea was just one thing.

"Please, tell me more, just a little more, be more detailed, I beg you, Gwen."

"..."

Because today was the first day of the new semester, things were slightly more relaxed, and there were not even any classes scheduled for today.

Everyone was busy with their own affairs, picking up their class schedules, or going to find their counselors to seek advice for their final semester.

Therefore, Gwen was thoroughly annoyed by Mary for the entire morning.

Finally.

When the two were heading to the cafeteria, Gwen looked at Mary, who was still beside her looking pitiful and longing to hear more gossip about how she and Hawk got together, and couldn't take it anymore.

Gwen sighed.

"No, is it that strange that I'm with Hawk?"

"Mm-hmm."

"What's strange about it? Since the ninth grade, I've been his desk mate in physics class, and we have the same counselor."

"Please, Gwen, that's Hawk."

"So what?"

"Do you really not know what everyone says about Hawk?"

"What?"

This time it was Gwen's turn to be curious.

Mary looked around and lowered her voice: "Everyone is saying that either Hawk is a pure, straight-as-a-nail guy, or Hawk is gay."

Gwen rolled her eyes: "How is that possible."

She suddenly thought of Hawk standing in the water wearing only a pair of shorts at that waterfall in Maryland.

Gay?

Hawk was straight.

Straight as a police baton.

No.

What am I thinking.

Gwen shook her head, subconsciously shaking the image of the police baton out of her mind, and then said to Mary with a straight face: "Hawk is not gay."

Mary was stunned, then seemed to think of something and blinked at Gwen.

Her smile became somewhat suggestive.

"Have you tasted it?"

"..."

Gwen was stunned for a moment, then looked at the suggestive smile on Mary's face and took a deep breath.

The next second.

She turned around and walked away without a word.

As expected of a dance student.

Dirty.

Too dirty.

Mary watched Gwen, who had shaken her off without a word, and hurriedly chased after her.

"I'm sorry, Gwen, forgive me."

"..."

When Hawk arrived at the cafeteria, Mary was still trying to dig information out of Gwen's mouth.

But Gwen turned a deaf ear.

Seeing that Gwen had become immune to her pleas, Mary sighed, then saw Harry arrive at the cafeteria led by Peter, her eyes lit up instantly, and she said to Gwen beside her: "If you won't tell me, I'll go ask Peter."

As she spoke, Mary Jane had already stood up, and before Gwen could react, she took her tray and ran off to find Peter and Harry.

When Hawk sat down opposite Gwen with his tray, Mary Jane had already left.

"Is Mary done eating?"

"Obviously, she couldn't get any gossip from me, so she ran off to find Peter."

Gwen glanced at Mary, who had already pulled Peter down to sit, and shook her head with some helplessness.

Hearing this, Hawk asked in confusion: "What does this have to do with Peter?"

Gwen shrugged.

"Maybe because you and Peter spent time in the old gym last semester, so this semester everyone thinks Peter is your friend."

"...Alright."

After hearing this, Hawk let out a laugh, but couldn't be bothered to refute anything, so he grabbed the burger on his plate and started eating.

Because they had arrived at the cafeteria early, Gwen had already finished eating.

Gwen rested her arms on the dining table, watching Hawk eat his burger.

"By the way, did you call Dr. Connors to thank him?"

"Yeah, I did."

Hawk nodded, swallowed his burger, and then thought of something and said to Gwen: "When I called, Dr. Connors said it seemed like there had been a breakthrough in the experiment; he sounded very happy."

Gwen blinked.

"A breakthrough?"

"That's impossible."

"..."
