Let's go!"

Spider-Man nodded, then asked suspiciously, "But how are you going to get there? Are you swinging like me?"

"No, no. Swinging over? That's too slow."

Blaine shook his head, leaped into the air, and a gust of wind rose beneath him. Two green, translucent wings formed behind his back.

With a single flap, his speed instantly broke the sound barrier.

A sharp "boom" echoed in the air—the sonic boom shaking the surroundings as Blaine rocketed toward Manhattan like a cannonball.

He wasn't planning to wait for Spider-Man.

The sooner this was dealt with, the better. Naturally, he intended to move as fast as possible.

If you're asking about the fastest route—of course it's by flying at Mach speeds.

Running would mean weaving through countless buildings.

A straight line is the shortest path. Running along rooftops was too uneven and far too slow.

Fortunately, he had learned magic from Gali that he could now use himself.

If Galactus had arrived earlier, he wouldn't have had the chance to learn anything. His copy-eye ability would've been wasted. Kamar-Taj was the only place on Earth where magic could truly be mastered.

Blaine didn't believe they would have welcomed him at Kamar-Taj if he'd just barged in uninvited.

After all, he'd made quite a mess on Earth lately. The Ancient One, as Sorcerer Supreme, had certainly taken notice.

She wouldn't have killed him—but accepting him as a student? Very unlikely.

So the moment he awakened his copy-eye, he'd gone straight to Gali to study magic. If he'd had less money, he wouldn't have gotten in; if he'd waited any longer, Galactus would've taken her.

"Unbelievable…"

Spider-Man stared at the spot where Blaine had vanished.

What just happened?

Wings?
