Chapter 58: One King and Three Bronzes
Li Hao waved his hands in a hurry; this didn't suit him, he couldn't pull off such tactics. If A Youyou asked, he would definitely answer, rather than playing any games of initiative or passivity. Liking someone must mean moving toward each other; regardless of what others were like, he had to find his own way. As for Ma Laoshi's words, they had to be understood dialectically.
Ma Long looked helplessly at the three "vegetables" in his dorm. His own rank in love was Glory, yet he was paired with three Bronzes. He couldn't even carry them, and the key was that the three Bronzes wouldn't even listen to him.
Ding-dong.
Li Hao glanced at his Skycom... it was an email from A Youyou, and a brilliant smile immediately appeared on his face.
Ma Long sighed; a man whose eyes were blinded by his first love had the IQ of a kindergartner. Receiving a greeting card or something similar might make him happy for months. He felt that if these three in the dorm didn't have him looking after them, they would nine times out of ten be played in circles by the heartless women of today.
This is absolutely not okay!
"I bet it's some little card, a greeting, scenery, or something like that, right!" Ma Long confidently crossed his legs. He had started off with a decent impression of A Youyou—simple, not too flashy—but girls were good at disguising themselves and all had deep tactics. It seemed this A Youyou was no exception.
"Hao Ge, what kind of thing are you looking at for so long? At most it's movie tickets, right? Can it really take off?"
"Zuo Xiaopang, is this that concert ticket for Arths?" Li Hao showed it to Zuo Xiaopang.
What???
Ma Long and Zuo Xiaopang popped their heads out almost instantly. "Holy crap, holy crap, it really is, holy crap..."
"God, God, this is a floor seat ticket. Damn, I'll be damned!"
Ma Long and Zuo Xiaotang were going crazy. How could there be floor seat tickets, and why would someone give them away???
Without asking, Li Hao knew this was very valuable.
"A Youyou, this is too valuable. You should go yourself," Li Hao typed in a reply on his Skycom.
Ma Long, who was standing to the side, finally came to his senses and tried desperately to stop him. "Big brother, my dear brother, don't give it away! Do you know how hard these are to get?"
"Senior, this was a gift from my aunt. I have training that day and can't go. I really hope you can go, as if I were going myself."
A Youyou replied.
"Wow, an angel, this is an angel! Hao Ge, you should just give in. Ye Tong is great, but A Youyou is even better!"
"Who are you talking about!" Ye Tong had arrived, along with Zhou Naiyi, but the young lady Ye's gaze stabbed at Ma Long like a knife.
"What are you making such a fuss about!" Ye Tong took a look...
She wanted to go too. She had originally wanted to get one for herself and one for Zhou Naiyi, but she hadn't managed to get a single one.
"It's even a floor seat ticket. What kind of person is this A Youyou? Li Hao, you've been deceived!" Ye Tong said.
Ever since A Youyou started calling Li Hao "Senior," Ye Tong stopped calling him that entirely.
Zhou Naiyi smiled slightly. "Li Hao, this A Youyou is very impressive to be able to get these. They are extremely hard to come by right now."
"Her aunt gave it to her. After all, she is a Moon Person; perhaps it's definitely easier for them to buy them than us. Ma Long, what should I do? What should I reply?"
"Tsk tsk, Hao Ge, your luck has turned and your romantic fortune is blooming. It's hardest to repay a beauty's kindness; whatever you reply, she will like it," Ma Long laughed.
Bang...
Ye Tong's tray slammed onto the table. "Li Hao, do you intend to just quit and drift through life like this? Even if the principal isn't helpful, you can still fight for it! What are you afraid of!"
"I'm not afraid," Li Hao rubbed his nose. Where was this even coming from?
"You're just a coward!" Ye Tong didn't buy it. Where had the Li Hao of the past gone? Cold, powerful, ready to fight at the slightest disagreement. Look at him now—dazed and confused, way too easy to bully.
Li Hao couldn't be bothered to argue with the little girl. Why so much fighting and killing? Isn't world peace good?
Although he didn't have much affection for some people from the Moon, he liked A Youyou. What kind of gift should he prepare?
Ma Long suppressed his laughter and shoveled food into his mouth. Tsk tsk, Hao Ge had unintentionally mastered the art of "winning without moves." Ye Tong probably hadn't been that interested at first, but with A Youyou appearing like this, it suddenly stimulated the girl's competitive spirit.
My things—I can leave them aside, I can choose not to use them, but others cannot touch them!
"Li Hao, how about I go talk to the principal again? Everyone feels that with your close-combat level, you are definitely qualified," Zhou Naiyi couldn't help but say.
"Class Monitor, my main major is sniping. Zuo Xiaopang can handle that position. As long as you spur him on or stimulate him, he'll be absolutely awesome. Your midfield coordination, combined with Wuzang and Ye Tong as the dual Vanguards, is actually super fierce."
Zhou Naiyi nodded. Once Instructor Meng Ye arrived, the team would be on the right track. She just felt a bit embarrassed, and Li Hao's mind was clearly not on this right now.
"Li Hao, you don't understand women. Some people look obedient on the surface, but it's all an act," Ye Tong said. "Girls understand girls best!"
She thought to herself: She must be a green tea, the tea of all teas!
Li Hao was a bit confused. Having been influenced by Ma Laoshi for over a year, he knew the first rule of getting along with girls: don't try to reason with them. He wouldn't bicker with a child.
The morning was an elective course: Advanced Physics.
This was a professional course for the Physics Department. Those from the Mecha Department who took it were either there to pad their credits or had something wrong with their brains.
Li Hao was both. From the moment Bleem appeared, Li Hao had also been trying to understand and speculate. When he was a child, Li Hao would have all sorts of guesses, like gods, demons, ghosts, or aliens. Now, he would look for clues more rationally; this was also what Bleem had taught him.
Actually, the word "Bleem" itself implied a lot. Its original meaning was an integer between 3 and 4; if one could prove it, one could enter the fourth dimension.
However, even with current technology, no one had been able to prove it yet.
"From the early Macro Mechanics to Quantum Mechanics, to Superstring Theory, and to the currently accepted Eleven-Dimensional Space Theory, humans have actually pointed out two directions for civilization development. One is planar expansion, which is our current Starry Sky great voyage. The other is vertical development. Of course, we won't go toward lower dimensions, but upward. The Fourth-Dimensional Spacetime concept is also what everyone currently yearns for. For biological entities like us humans, it exists and we possess a shared region," Dr. Xilairui said, pointing to his head.
"As early as several hundred years ago, those great physicists already pointed out that if you exceed the speed of light, time will flow backward. And we now more firmly believe that when time flows backward, we will enter the microscopic world, which is the Membrane World. In this world, dimensions will present in another form. Of course, this is not observed with the naked eye, but through dimensional perception. The biggest problem we face is that matter faces a material barrier when it reaches the speed of light."
Professor Xilairui wrote a classic formula on the blackboard: m=m0/sqrt(1-v*v/(c*c)), where m is dynamic mass, m0 is static mass, v is electron velocity, and c is the speed of light.
"When the speed reaches the speed of light, the dynamic mass becomes infinite, which is impossible. Theoretically, all macroscopic objects can never reach or exceed the speed of light. To reach the speed of light, there is only one way: to make your static mass zero. It's as if a person's weight suddenly disappeared; they could fly as fast as they wanted. Besides light, there is another type of microscopic particle that moves at the speed of light, called a Gluon. It is responsible for transmitting the strong force between Quarks, binding Quarks firmly together."
Xilairui tapped the blackboard. "Can we humans achieve this?"
"Professor, do you mean the Spirit? Is there theoretical feasibility for the separation of body and spirit?" Li Hao asked.
The students in the audience burst into laughter.
Professor Xilairui glanced at Li Hao and smiled slightly. "The end of science is theology, and isn't theology just a kind of unknown science? It's just a name. The Spirit, or what we might call the Soul, perfectly meets the requirements for superluminal speed. I believe that humans are innately equipped with the possibility of entering the fourth spacetime dimension, detaching from the body, and traveling through spacetime."
"Wouldn't that just be death? What's the point?"
"Professor, this is too mysterious. After so many years, our development in the macroscopic field has far exceeded the microscopic. Whether in theory, technology, or even materials, isn't Space Jump proof of this?" a student asked.
Xilairui nodded. "But that is still horizontal; it's a different concept from dimensions. I'm not saying horizontal development isn't development—it is, which is why we can conquer the starry sky—but only by discovering and understanding dimensions can we jump."
"That student there, tell us your thoughts." Xilairui pointed to Li Hao. Very few students from other departments took this elective; some were there to pad credits, and some wouldn't even choose this if they were just padding credits—nothing was more boring than physics and math. But this student was different; he had been very serious since the first year. At first, Xilairui thought he was one of his own students, but later discovered he was actually from the Mecha Department.
"Professor, I think it's feasible. Since ancient times, 'Soul Out-of-Body,' 'changing in an instant,' and 'one thought spanning ten thousand years'—although these are just descriptions, the human spirit does indeed meet the various requirements for super-high speed. At the same time, the spirit does not have a light-speed barrier. As for death, it might happen, or it might not. Is there a possibility that the spirit or soul can change carriers, and in that form, attach itself to some existing matter?" Li Hao asked.
Xilairui nodded with interest, "Doesn't it sound like possession or arrival to everyone? I think this possibility exists. Both theology and science originate from Humans and inherently possess a close connection. Everyone might as well let their imaginations run wild..."
Xilairui gestured for Li Hao to sit down. Of course, this kind of theology was just a small interlude; science remains our foundation. Human accumulation regarding the microscopic world is far lower than that of the macroscopic world. Not to mention theory, even in terms of materials alone, it cannot be satisfied.
Li Hao, however, fell into his own thoughts. Perhaps the direction was wrong; entering the microscopic world does not require any materials, but rather the Human self.
His own dream entry, especially the things he experienced in the dreamscape and the changes to his body, explained some issues. But such dreamscapes clearly did not reach the level of entering the space-time dimensional world, yet in some sense, did they possess certain conditions?
Is the dream the channel for Humans to connect to the dimensional world, and could controlling the dreamscape to carry out some kind of acceleration allow one to enter the dimensional world?
