Chapter 1816: What's meant to come will always come
What's meant to come will always come
These past two months, Zhangyu's health hasn't been great; the weather and his mood are off, yet nothing wrong shows up. Now I realize writing a book can have its own midlife slump—I've been writing for over ten years, and whenever I start a new book or nearing the end of one, this anxious feeling always shows up as expected. It's not really a bad thing; it proves Zhangyu hasn't grown old and still values writing as much as ever.
Looking at the word count, it will exceed five million tomorrow. This book started writing in August of year 14, and now it's almost two years—two years, five million words. This update volume is already quite a lot; Zhangyu has a clear conscience, so friends who criticize his updates should be more tolerant. As Zhangyu's readers, we are still happy.
Regarding seeking monthly tickets, it's not that Zhangyu values this ranking highly; it's mostly to motivate himself. I should clarify: this book is a buyout, so the ranking has no bearing on my income. However, a buyout can easily breed complacency, so Zhangyu must use this stimulus to keep himself energized, set a goal to move forward better. Thus, Zhangyu's plea for tickets is actually a sign of dedication.
August is Medical Union's final ticket‑ranking battle; according to Zhangyu's writing plan, Medical Union is also nearing its end—perhaps this month's end or next month's beginning the book will be finished. Even though these two months some think Zhangyu has been slacking, he has been reviewing the book, silently checking plot holes, considering the ending. I've also seen some venting reviews; in fact, Zhangyu isn't satisfied with his own state either. But in the concluding stage, before things are fully considered, I can't rush ahead—speeding makes it easy to go off course, and the faster you run, the farther you drift from the finish.
This book has taken two years to write; no matter how much passion and feeling I've poured in, what's meant to come will always come. I hope to do my best to give this book a satisfying conclusion.
The writing process is like sailing a boat; I am the boatman. As the writing progresses, the passengers on board grow more numerous, and the pressure and burden Zhangyu bears increase as well—fortunately, you all share the load with me.
There have been highs and lows, but thankfully you've never abandoned me. We can already see the finish line. In this final month of the Medical Union Monthly Ticket Contest, my brothers and sisters, will you join me in pulling the oars together, so everyone can witness our unity and strength, and let the name of Medical Union be etched on the monthly ticket ranking! (To be continued~^~)
