Prologue

Everything began with a meteor streaking across the sky of the Central Plains; Eru Iluvatar, the One God dwelling in the Eternal Hall and the Father of All, perceived in an instant this meteor that had suddenly appeared in this realm, for it was not a creation of His own or of the Ainur.

"An interlude?"

The Great God pondered, and after a moment, without any visible movement, the meteor that had been faintly streaking toward Rohan and Gondor suddenly changed course and plunged into Rhovanion, located east of the Misty Mountains, also known as the Wilderland.

"Heh."

The Eternal Hall fell back into silence.
