Chapter 85: Afterword for the End of Volume Two

Afterword for the End of Volume Two

In reality, the chapter about the New Year's banquet was the ending I had planned for Volume Two; by concluding the Battle of the Five Armies, I gave the protagonist a broader platform for development.

However, this is my first time writing a book, and I lack experience, so I messed up the volume divisions. Later, I will check with my editor to see if it can be changed; if it cannot, I can only say it will stay as it is.

Some friends were previously worried that I would skip several decades after the Battle of the Five Armies to reach the War of the Ring. This will not happen, because I will describe the protagonist's development during these 60 years in relative detail; this will be the main content for the next several hundred thousand to even a million words.

For this part, I will combine information from the original work with many of my own secondary settings to develop several plot lines. This will inevitably lead to things that did not happen on the original trajectory, and ultimately, it cannot escape two directions: war and expansion, which includes both the expansion of influence and the expansion of actual territory.

I have an outline to support this, but there are many details to consider, which will be quite difficult to write. The key is that it must be reasonable and exciting, which is a bit brain-draining. If updates are slow, I hope everyone can be understanding. I will try my best to ensure 4k to 5k words per day; I still need to get that perfect attendance bonus, as a middle-aged man cannot afford to lose it.

Additionally, I might occasionally take a day off to rest my brain. As a part-time writer, I work a nine-to-five job, and after getting off work, I have to grind until one o'clock to write 5k words; recently, I have been feeling unable to keep up.

For example, yesterday, I went back at six o'clock, lay on the bed, and fell asleep. I was dazed until eight o'clock, and then I grinded until one o'clock, only managing a little over three thousand words. Three thousand words—this is terrifying. It is not that I don't have plot points in my head, but it is just very difficult to write them out. I think this might be due to exhaustion, and I hope to be able to ease it.

Next, let's talk about the performance. I launched the book a month ago; the initial subscription was less than 900, and the average subscription is around 800. I would like to thank my friends for their support here.

Now the highest subscription is over 2500, and the average subscription is nearly 1800. Just for this achievement, I should at least kowtow to all you benefactors and add three or five extra chapters, but unfortunately, I really am a little trash and cannot keep up with the updates. I can only say I will try my best. (? _?)(? _?)

You wouldn't want me to die suddenly in front of the computer and not be able to see the grand finale, right, right, right?

Finally, please vote for monthly tickets and please subscribe (? ˙ー˙?)
