Chapter 223: Extorting Xin Ruyin?

After exchanging for the Thunder Spirit Crystal from the hands of the Fu Xing Laozhe of the Jiuyou Sect at the Tianji Pavilion, Yan Taibai left the Tianji Pavilion with a look of joy on his face.

As for the Tianji Mansion of the Tianji Pavilion, Yan Taibai was also clear about what the situation was, so he did not have much interest in it.

However, his lack of interest did not mean that others had no interest.

For example, Xin Ruyin, who had been thinking about the Tianji Mansion constantly.

But when Yan Taibai left the Tianji Pavilion, Xin Ruyin, who had come to the Jinxi Market, encountered trouble before she even entered the Tianji Pavilion, attracting onlookers.

"Young lady, how can you go back on your word! This old man has already sold the Cloud Blue Stone to you, and now you don't want it anymore; how can this be? Not a single Spirit Stone less than thirty thousand will do."

More than ten zhang away from Yan Taibai, a gaunt old man with a crafty look on his face and a few sparse, broken whiskers on his chin stood there; his cultivation was at the Nascent Soul Early Stage.

At this moment, this Nascent Soul Early Stage old man was blocking Xin Ruyin.

"Senior, the Cloud Blue Stone you gave me is clearly a defective product that failed during refinement. The junior was only momentarily unobservant, which is why I was fooled into agreeing to your conditions. Now that I have realized it, I naturally will not pay the Spirit Stones again. I hope Senior will not be too excessive."

Xin Ruyin's tone turned cold; she did not have any fear because of the old man's Nascent Soul Early Stage cultivation.

After all, she had already learned from Dayan Shenjun that Yan Taibai, Le Shennü, and the Tianlan Saintess had all arrived at this Jinxi Market.

Under these circumstances, let alone a mere Nascent Soul Early Stage cultivator, even a Great Cultivator of Nascent Soul Late Stage would not make Xin Ruyin do as they wished and take out thirty thousand Spirit Stones to buy a defective product.

"Defective product? Young lady, you only said you wanted a Cloud Blue Stone, you didn't say whether it was a defective product or not. In any case, since the Cloud Blue Stone has already been given to you, you must take out thirty thousand Spirit Stones, otherwise... hehe!"

The old man looked Xin Ruyin up and down and gave a malicious chuckle.

"Otherwise what!"

Suddenly, a cold voice rang out, making the old man who was threatening and extorting Xin Ruyin feel a chill down his spine, and he immediately looked in the direction of the sound.

Then, he saw the Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping and Le Shennü, two peerless beauties, walking over side by side.

The powerful aura of one Great Cultivator of Nascent Soul Late Stage and one Nascent Soul Mid-Stage Peak, although not actively released, still made the old man's face turn pale instantly.

"A Great Cultivator of Nascent Soul Late Stage and a Nascent Soul Mid-Stage Peak cultivator; this Golden Core Stage fairy actually knows such powerful high-level cultivators."

"Good heavens, which sect is this fairy who is a Great Cultivator of Nascent Soul Late Stage from? How come I have never heard of her?"

"This guy is unlucky. He has kicked an iron plate."

"What iron plate, this is an Iron Essence plate."

"I don't know. What is the relationship between this woman and these two Nascent Soul Stage seniors?" "Should be a disciple, right?"

Seemingly to answer the questions of the onlookers, and also to make the old man's legs go weak, was Xin Ruyin's next sentence.

"Two sisters, you really arrived first. Where is Brother Yan? Why is he not with you?"

"I am behind you."

Yan Taibai's faint voice made the joy on Xin Ruyin's face even greater, and she hurriedly turned to look at Yan Taibai.

And the old man also discovered at this time that there was another Nascent Soul Mid-Stage Peak cultivator like Yan Taibai.

At this moment, let alone the old man, even the cultivators who were just watching the fun and the show scattered one after another, fearing that they would be implicated in something.

Just like that, one in front and one behind, the old man was blocked by Yan Taibai, the Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping, and Le Shennü; escaping was impossible.

"Three fellow Daoists, this matter is this old man's fault. This old man is willing to compensate this fairy with thirty thousand Spirit Stones and another Cloud Blue Stone. I hope the three fellow Daoists will forgive me."

Things having reached this point, the old man could only choose to lose wealth to avoid disaster.

He directly took out a Storage Bag and a jade box with a Talisman stuck to it and handed them to the nearest person, Xin Ruyin.

"Ruyin, what do you say?"

Seeing this, Yan Taibai, the Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping, and Le Shennü exchanged glances and cast their gazes onto the person involved, Xin Ruyin.

"Forget it, let's just let it go this time!"

And Xin Ruyin took a look at the old man, who had a face full of desperate pleading and looked pitiful, and finally nodded, letting the other party go.

As she spoke, just as the old man was receiving the Storage Bag and jade box with a look of gratitude and surprise, as if he had been granted an amnesty.

The old man's eyes flashed with cold light, and the jade box exploded directly, with a black light rushing out from within toward the center of Xin Ruyin's brows.

However, although the black light was extremely fast, unfortunately, it still did not exceed Yan Taibai's White Emperor Golden Emperor Slash.

Yan Taibai turned directly into a golden light and appeared in front of Xin Ruyin, grabbing the black light in one hand.

But before he could crush it, the black light exploded with a boom in the next step, turning into a mass of demonic black mist that enveloped Yan Taibai and the surroundings, making it impossible for people to see anything, and even making it impossible for divine sense to leave the body to investigate.

By the time the demonic mist disappeared, the old man who had just been threatening and extorting Xin Ruyin had already vanished.

"The person ran away, how is that possible."

Seeing this scene, Le Shennü and the Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping frowned slightly, their pretty faces showing expressions of disbelief.

No matter what, they were unwilling to believe that a mere Nascent Soul Early Stage cultivator had actually disappeared right before their eyes. Furthermore, there was also Yan Taibai, the number one person in the Tiannan Cultivation World.

"Escape? Just by him. Hehe! Although he has some means, wanting to escape in front of me, isn't that a bit of wishful thinking?"

Compared to the shock of Le Shennü, the Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping, and Xin Ruyin, Yan Taibai just chuckled. Afterward, his entire person also flashed with golden light and disappeared.

A moment later, Yan Taibai appeared in a lush forest outside the Jinxi Market, and then, a gaunt figure emerged from the ground like a mole.

Just as he emerged, before he had time to catch his breath, he saw the smiling Yan Taibai right in front of him.

"Fe... fellow Daoist, you have come too!"

"Ancient Earth Travel Thousand Mile Talisman, I didn't expect your luck to be so good that you could even obtain this kind of long-extinct thousand-mile earth-escape talisman. However, it is a pity that I just obtained an Earth Armored Dragon. And it, quite coincidentally, is very sensitive to this kind of earth-attribute treasure, which is how I was able to discover you."

Yan Taibai said the reason with a smile under the gaunt old man's shocked and fearful gaze.

"Fellow Daoist's luck is much better than this lowly one's. Then how does fellow Daoist intend to deal with this lowly one? This lowly one admits defeat. Here are one hundred thousand Spirit Stones and the Cloud Blue Stone; I hope fellow Daoist will be magnanimous and spare this lowly one's life." After hearing Yan Taibai's words, the gaunt old man knew that his life-saving talisman was of no use anymore, so he could only smile bitterly and beg for his life.

"Fellow Daoist, sit and await your death yourself! Otherwise, I can only take action to extract your soul and refine your spirit."

Yan Taibai chuckled, not feeling the slightest bit moved by the gaunt old man's pleas.

After all, the other party dared to have malicious intentions toward Xin Ruyin, extorted Xin Ruyin, and most importantly, actually dared to make a move against Xin Ruyin.

Therefore, it was already a capital crime!

"Since that is the case, then this old man will not be polite either."

Hearing these words from Yan Taibai, the thin, withered old man's expression sank, and he prepared to fight to the death.

A streak of golden light flashed, and immediately after, his entire chest was pierced through; all his vitality was annihilated and vanished, and even his Nascent Soul did not have time to escape before it was completely wiped out.

Subsequently, with a "bang," his body turned into a human torch, directly burned into ashes by the flames, and dissipated into smoke!

Only his Storage Bag and Life-Bound Magical Treasure remained.

After taking both into his hands, Yan Taibai put away the thin, withered old man's Life-Bound Magical Treasure and then rummaged through the opponent's Storage Bag; perhaps because he had done a lot of extortion, the items inside this thin, withered old man's Storage Bag were very cluttered.

But soon, a slender Jade Bottle six or seven inches high appeared in Yan Taibai's hand, entirely emerald green and exceptionally exquisite.

Next, a needle-like icy chill came from his fingertips; smelling this, Yan Taibai then gently shook the Jade Bottle, and immediately, the sound of liquid flowing echoed from within.

"It couldn't be that coincidental, could it!" A look of disbelief appeared on Yan Taibai's face, but to ensure there were no mistakes, he still opened the bottle cap.

In an instant, a cold light shot out from the bottle, the temperature of the entire forest plummeted, a layer of frost condensed, or to be precise, the entire forest was frozen solid.

Even Yan Taibai couldn't help but shiver suddenly.

"It really is."

Yan Taibai's face revealed a look of great joy, and then, he took out a jade plate and slightly shook the Jade Bottle in his other hand.

Immediately, a drop of silver liquid fell steadily from the mouth of the bottle, and after making a crisp, pleasant sound, it dripped into the jade plate, turning into a silver bead the size of a grain of rice, spinning endlessly in the dish.

However, there was not a trace of cold air.

"Ruyin's luck is truly good!"

Seeing this, Yan Taibai said with great joy.

Afterwards, he collected this silver bead into the Jade Bottle and then carefully placed it into his Storage Bag.

Then, he transformed into a golden escape light and left.

Wannian Cold Marrow, a necessary item for refining Huiyang Water; he had originally thought it would take a lot of time to find, but he had not expected it to be such a coincidence.

After returning to Jinxi Market and finding Xin Ruyin, Le Shennü, and the Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping, the three sisters, Yan Taibai immediately handed the thin, withered old man's Life-Bound Magical Treasure to Xin Ruyin and said.

"This is his Life-Bound Magical Treasure; consider it compensation for you," Yan Taibai smiled.

"Many thanks, Brother Yan."

Seeing this, Xin Ruyin said thanks without being overly polite, then took the thin, withered old man's Life-Bound Magical Treasure and put it into her Storage Bag.

"Brother Yan, how many materials have you collected?"

Xin Ruyin asked about the serious business again.

"I have almost collected them all; I am still missing the Life-Bound scales of a Transformation Stage fire-attribute flood dragon and a few other materials. I already have news about the flood dragon scales, and I will make a trip after this trade fair ends."

Yan Taibai said with a smile.

Although he had already obtained the scales of a level-nine Li Fire Flood Dragon in the Chaotic Star Sea, who would complain about having too few of these things?

In any case, a few mere Transformation Stage Demon Beasts were not a big deal at all.

"In that case, Brother Yan's Sanyan Fan will soon be successfully refined. As for the materials needed for Master's Nascent Soul Late Stage Puppet, I haven't collected many yet."

Xin Ruyin sighed faintly and said.

"You don't need to worry about this; I have already collected most of them. There is only a portion of materials left, and the Imperial Ye Family will help collect these materials."

Seeing this, Yan Taibai knew what Xin Ruyin wanted to hear and said.

"The Da Jin Imperial Ye Family, does Brother Yan really intend to cooperate with them?"

Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping asked in surprise.

"In this matter, only their Imperial Ye Family can help us collect enough materials at the fastest speed."

Yan Taibai nodded and said.

"But this concubine always feels that this Imperial Ye Family has some ulterior motive?"

Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping said with some worry.

"I know this too, but it just so happens that what they want to do has a significant connection to me, so I chose to help them."

"When the time comes, perhaps you will also need to help."

Yan Taibai did not stand on ceremony.

"Helping, that is naturally not a problem. However, about when?"

Le Shennü was the first to open her lips and agreed directly.

"There is no rush for now. I still need to discuss the specific plan with the Imperial Ye Family; when your help is needed, I will naturally ask you."

Yan Taibai smiled lightly.

"Good, no problem; just tell us when the time comes, Brother Yan."

Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping also agreed without showing any weakness.

After all, with Yan Taibai around, even if there were dangers, they would not be life-threatening.

"Mm! That is natural."

"You should walk around the market first! I am going to the Imperial City to discuss the plan with the people of the Ye Family."

Yan Taibai stood up and took his leave directly.

"Then Brother Yan, take care."

Tianlan Saintess Lin Yinping nodded her head slightly and reminded him with concern.

"That's right, Brother Yan, be careful. This Imperial Ye Family is definitely not simple."

Xin Ruyin and Le Shennü followed closely behind and said.

"Fine, fine, fine, you three sisters can rest assured; it is just a Ye Family, even if they are the Imperial family, so what?"

Yan Taibai revealed a helpless expression, nodded repeatedly, and agreed.

Afterwards, he quickly parted ways with the three women.

……

The Imperial City, belonging to the Ye Family, has been managed for many years, making it difficult for even the Ten Great Sects of the righteous and demonic paths to infiltrate it in the slightest.

Were it not for this, the Imperial Ye Family would not dare to undertake such a massive and dangerous plan.

Once even the slightest bit is leaked, the entire Ye Family, even as the imperial house of the Dajin Cultivation World, would be reduced to ashes and cease to exist.

Therefore, the upper echelons of the Ye Family were incredibly furious that Yan Taibai knew of the Ye Family's plot regarding Kunwu Mountain, yet they were helpless.

After all, Yan Taibai is far too mysterious, and his strength and divine abilities are not something the Ye Family can afford to provoke.

It just so happens that Yan Taibai also desires the Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasure within Kunwu Mountain, so the Imperial Ye Family had no choice but to choose to cooperate with Yan Taibai.

After all, Yan Taibai is the only person in their hands capable of contending against the Ten Great Sects of the righteous and demonic paths.

Only Yan Taibai can make the Ten Great Sects of the righteous and demonic paths wary; this fact is plain for the entire Dajin Cultivation World to see.

It has not been long since the entire Yinluo Sect was annihilated.

Under these circumstances, even if the righteous and demonic paths know that Yan Taibai is plotting for Kunwu Mountain, they dare not act rashly, unless they know that the annihilation of the Yinluo Sect has absolutely nothing to do with Yan Taibai.

Yet this is also unlikely, because currently almost all evidence points to the fact that the Yinluo Sect was almost certainly the work of Yan Taibai; the only thing unknown is exactly how Yan Taibai managed to do it.

Clearly far away in the Tiannan Cultivation World, yet he managed to annihilate the entire Yinluo Sect; this terrifying strength and ability truly make people wary and fearful.
