Chapter 68: Setting an Array to Eliminate the Enemy

Baichi Shan was once a popular gathering place for many Qi Refining Stage rogue cultivators and immortal cultivation families in Yuanwu Country.

Today, it has become a forbidden area that no one dares to visit, and even the surrounding hundred miles are avoided.

There is no other reason than the arrival of a group of uninvited guests at Baichi Shan: Foundation Establishment Stage disciples of the Yin Yang Demon Sect, one of the three great Demonic Path sects of Yuanwu Country.

Moreover, their identities are quite extraordinary; they are all disciples of the Golden Core Stage Cultivator Huoyun Daoren of the Yin Yang Demon Sect.

However, this group of Demonic Path cultivators, who cause numerous Qi Refining Stage cultivators to tremble in fear and remain silent as cicadas in winter,

are currently gathered in the temple at Baichi Shan, men and women, old and young, and none of them look particularly pleased.

"Is there still no news? If there is still no news, I fear Master will extract our souls and refine our spirits."

The oldest-looking Daoist, a man with gray-white hair at the Foundation Establishment Late Stage, spoke up.

"None, there is still no news at all. Not a single trace has been found, as if they simply vanished. Laosan and the fourth one have already headed to Yue Country; let us hope they can bring back news!"

A beautiful woman parted her lips slightly and sighed.

"You say, could it be that Sword Immortal Taibai from Yue Country? I heard this person is Yan Taibai of the Yanyue Sect. If it really is him, then we are in trouble. His master is Qiong Laoguai of the Yanyue Sect, a senior at the Golden Core Late Stage, who is even three parts more formidable than our master?"

A red-haired middle-aged man could not help but speak.

It is a well-known truth in the immortal cultivation world that cultivators of a higher realm are mostly much stronger than those of a lower realm, especially since Qiong Laoguai's reputation is far greater than that of their master, Huoyun Daoren.

Within Yue Country and Yuanwu Country, there is almost no Golden Core Stage Cultivator who is his match; they have all been teased by him and left in a sorry state.

Yet, unable to defeat him, they sought help from the Nascent Soul cultivators of their sects, but because it was only a minor matter, and most had old ties with Qiong Laoguai—some even being of the same generation—they naturally were unwilling to intervene.

In any case, it was just being left in a sorry state, and no lives were lost.

Therefore, they were worried, and they had long suspected Yan Taibai, but hindered by "Qiong Laoguai," that old, undying Golden Core Late Stage cultivator, they instinctively chose to rule him out.

But now, even if they wanted to rule him out, they could not, because Yan Taibai was the most likely candidate.

But probability is just probability; Yan Taibai is only a Foundation Establishment Early Stage cultivator, yet he killed a Foundation Establishment Late Stage cultivator in a few moves, and without even using a Talisman Treasure.

Even for a disciple of that old, undying Golden Core Late Stage cultivator Qiong Laoguai, it is somewhat impossible.

"Regardless of whether it is him, we must first find traces and evidence. Besides, he is only at the Foundation Establishment Early Stage; it is almost impossible for him to kill Senior Sister Huojiao. Even if it really is him, we only need to report to Master first and let him decide."

Hearing this, the beautiful woman shook her head and said.

They had long discussed this and did not believe that a newly advanced Foundation Establishment Early Stage cultivator could kill the Foundation Establishment Late Stage Huojiao Xianzi.

Even if his identity was unusual, it was the same. Moreover, ever since Yan Taibai reached Foundation Establishment, although he has been "Slaying Demons and Eliminating Devils," it has always been against Qi Refining Stage rogue cultivators within Yue Country.

To put it bluntly, he could only bully small fry, so they did not take him seriously and naturally did not suspect him much.

However, if they cannot find the murderer who killed their fellow disciple Huojiao Xianzi, even if they are not subjected to soul extraction and spirit refinement, their fate will not be much better.

During this time, they had almost searched and investigated every sect and immortal cultivation family in Yuanwu Country that had grievances with Huojiao Xianzi, as well as their Foundation Establishment Stage cultivators, but without exception, there was no lead.

But they did take the opportunity to kill some of their enemies and gained quite a few benefits.

Yet these benefits are insignificant compared to the punishment they would face if they could not find the murderer.

That is why they were so urgently gathered together to discuss the information they had each gathered.

Unfortunately, the information that should have been gathered had already been gathered, so naturally, they had nothing.

"Senior Sister is right."

After hearing the beautiful woman's words, the red-haired middle-aged man nodded in agreement.

As soon as the words fell, a red light flew toward their group from the distant horizon.

Seeing this, the leading Foundation Establishment Late Stage elder raised his hand to catch it and released his divine sense to examine the contents.

A moment later, his previously worried expression was replaced by a look of surprise.

Seeing this, the other Foundation Establishment cultivators also showed joy, and the beautiful woman asked impatiently.

"Is there news?"

"Indeed, there is news. But it is not about the murderer who killed Junior Sister Huojiao, but news of another Qi Refining Stage cultivator who was spared by them. The fourth one discovered this person appearing in Jinmacheng, which matches the information we previously obtained. As long as we capture this person, I believe we will be able to know the whereabouts of the murderer who killed Junior Sister Huojiao."

"It seems he felt the wind had passed, so he let that Qi Refining Stage cultivator leave."

The elder revealed a piece of news that made everyone look happy and excited.

At the same time, the haze hanging over everyone's heads dissipated by more than half, allowing them to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Good, then let us go to Jinmacheng now and capture that Qi Refining Stage cultivator for interrogation."

The red-haired middle-aged man said with a cold, murderous expression.

From the color of his hair, one could tell he had a significant relationship with Huojiao Xianzi.

"Not so fast. What if this person is a bait deliberately thrown out by that murderer? If we just go directly, wouldn't we be walking into a trap?"

Just as everyone intended to go together, the beautiful woman expressed her concern.

"How is that possible?"

"Even if it is, with so many of us Foundation Establishment Stage cultivators, surely we cannot be helpless against him alone."

The red-haired middle-aged man snorted coldly.

"But I think we should still report to Master first. After all, the strength of that murderer cannot be underestimated."

The beautiful woman was not angry; she just shook her head slightly and offered her suggestion.

"Fine, let us follow Junior Sister's words, report to Master first, and then we shall go."

The elder nodded, also feeling that this plan was sound.

……

At the same time, in a bamboo courtyard outside Jinmacheng, the master of Yan Taibai and Xin Ruyin was waiting for the arrival of others.

They had already set up an array and were just waiting for the Yin Yang Demon Sect to arrive. Moreover, they had already investigated clearly before this.

The one they were most worried about, Huoyun Daoren of the Yin Yang Demon Sect, that Golden Core Stage Cultivator, had not appeared.

He had only dispatched his disciples to search for and hunt them down, and they had never stopped.

The original Baichi Shan had also become their base and a forbidden area for other rogue cultivators.

With the array formation set up by Xin Ruyin's Master, let alone a group of Foundation Establishment Stage cultivators, even Huoyun Daoren, a Golden Core Stage cultivator, would find it very difficult to retreat unscathed.

"Senior Yun, when do you think they will be able to find this place?"

Yan Taibai took a sip of tea and smiled.

"It shouldn't be too long; this old man has already been tracked by that Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator, and if there are no surprises, they should be on their way here right now."

Xin Ruyin's Master thought for a moment and replied.
