Chapter 50: Cold Moon Ghost Flower

"Zhou Yi, the first trial of the Taiyin Six Trials is complete. Reward: the prototype of the Taiyin Pupil. Because it was completed beyond expectations, an additional reward: the age of all soul rings is increased by one thousand years."

"Zhu Zhuqing, the first trial of the Moon God Nine Trials is complete. Reward: Moon Phase Eight Styles. Because it was completed beyond expectations, an additional reward: the age of all soul rings is increased by one thousand years."

"Jin Ling, the first trial of the Taiyin Three Trials was completed beyond expectations. Reward: ten thousand years of soul power cultivation."

By the time the two people and one bird stood upon the Altar, the rewards for this assessment had already echoed in their minds.

"Zhuqing, what is your reward?"

"Moon Phase Eight Styles and an increase of one thousand years to my soul ring age."

"Hmm, it seems it must be related to the moon phase changes in the first trial."

"A-Yi, what about yours?"

"Mine is the prototype of the Taiyin Pupil and an increase of one thousand years to my soul ring age. However, this Taiyin Pupil prototype doesn't have any use for the time being."

Ever since the first trial ended, Zhou Yi had felt a cold, cooling sensation in his left eye.

He took out a mirror to look, and sure enough, the Moon Divine Pattern in his left pupil had become increasingly complex, though it still had no function for now. But since the Moon God called it a prototype, there was no need to rush; he would just wait for the subsequent transformation.

"Jin Ling, what about you?" Zhou Yi continued to ask.

"Ying~"

"Ten thousand years of cultivation? Not bad, not bad. You truly are my partner. At this rate, you'll be able to reach one hundred thousand years in just a few years, hahahaha."

In truth, under Zhou Yi's long-term feeding of Spiritual Power, Jin Ling's bloodline had grown closer and closer to that of a Golden Winged Great Peng. In terms of speed alone, it could be said that in the entire Douluo Continent, apart from gods, no one could catch it. It was just that it always seemed to be missing something for a complete transformation. After this Secret Realm, Zhou Yi had some faint guesses.

Legend has it that the Phoenix had two sons: the first was the Peacock, and the second was the Golden Winged Great Peng. Both possessed innate talents at birth.

The Peacock mastered the innate Five Elements Power and later refined it into the Five-Colored Divine Light, which could brush away anything.

The Golden Winged Great Peng mastered the innate Yin-Yang Two Qi, but only refined it into the Yin-Yang Two Qi Bottle. To be honest, this Yin-Yang Two Qi Bottle was truly tasteless; one didn't even know what use it could have. It was truly a waste of a heavenly gift. Fortunately, its own body was formidable, so it could still be considered an ordinary powerhouse.

Although it was impossible for Jin Ling to become a true Golden Winged Great Peng, if it could find Sun Power in the future, it would surely be able to undergo a bloodline transformation and become the first Golden Winged Great Peng in this world.

Before long, the beam of light withdrew, and they entered a new space.

This was a valley where one could see the moon upon looking up. In the very center of the valley was a spring with a diameter of about one hundred meters. The spring water was overall icy blue, appearing to contain starlight and moonlight, and it emitted a faint fluorescence under the illumination of the moon.

However, this spring water was extremely cold. Zhou Yi and the others felt themselves shivering even from so far away. And in the very center of the spring, at the exact spot where the moonlight shone directly, a flower was blooming—a dreamlike and beautiful flower, entirely silver-white with icy blue embellishments. Just looking at it made one think of the moon.

"Zhu Zhuqing, the second trial of the Moon God Nine Trials: consume the Cold Moon Ghost Flower in the Ice Soul Spirit Spring and refine it completely. Time limit: three months."

"Zhou Yi, the second trial of the Taiyin Nine Trials: perform body training in the Ice Soul Spirit Spring for one month and assist Zhu Zhuqing in refining the Cold Moon Ghost Flower. Time limit: three months."

"Jin Ling, the second trial of the Taiyin Three Trials: perform body training in the Ice Soul Spirit Spring for one month."

Just as they finished observing the surrounding environment, the assessment content echoed in their minds.

"A-Yi, mine is to refine the Cold Moon Ghost Flower in this ice spring, with a time limit of three months."

"Mine is to assist you in consuming it and to perform body training in the ice spring for one month."

"Ying~"

After exchanging information, the group did not intend to go directly to the spirit spring for the moment.

"A-Yi, why do I feel something is wrong with this trial? Logically, the second trial shouldn't be this simple. Is there a problem with that flower or the spirit spring?"

"Actually, I think this trial won't be easy for you. I can already feel the bone-chilling cold of that spirit spring. Jin Ling and I are fine, but given your constitution, it should be difficult to persist in the spirit spring for long. Let's go, let's go over and take a look first."

Just like that, they arrived at the edge of the spirit spring together.

"Hiss~" As soon as they approached, Zhu Zhuqing could no longer bear it, and even Zhou Yi and Jin Ling felt they could not stay there for long.

Zhu Zhuqing extended a finger into the spring water, and when she pulled it out, the entire finger had become icy cold and lost all sensation. Now, her heart felt even more fear toward this place.

However, her gaze immediately became firm. Having come this far, could she really give up halfway? Furthermore, since the Moon God set this trial, it meant she was capable of enduring it. What was mere physical pain? If she hadn't met Zhou Yi, she might still be trapped in the family strife, unable to rely on anyone. This hard-won opportunity to become stronger... she could not miss it! And even more... she could not just be chasing his footsteps. What she wanted was to stand by his side with dignity and become an indispensable existence to him!

Thinking this, her beautiful eyes calmed down again, only now they held an extra bit of unyielding seriousness and resilience.

"A-Yi, since I have to go in sooner or later, I'll just take action now."

Saying this, she used a Flight Talisman and a Water-Avoidance Talisman to reach the center of the spring, plucked the Cold Moon Ghost Flower, swallowed it in one gulp, and then entered the spring water directly to begin refining. Of course, the steps for refining were already recorded in the assessment content.

Before long, the spring water grew quiet, and neither the flower nor the person could be seen.

"My god! Why is Zhuqing so reckless? No, I have to go check on the situation." Seeing Zhu Zhuqing rush toward the center of the spring without any hesitation, Zhou Yi felt shocked for the first time, but he immediately became worried and hurriedly used a Water-Avoidance Talisman to rush into the spring water.

The effect of the Water-Avoidance Talisman was the ability to breathe underwater, which was quite useful for this trial.

Entering the water, Zhou Yi saw Zhu Zhuqing in the middle at a glance. At this moment, her whole body was radiating silver brilliance, echoing the moonlight above. Her martial soul was released directly behind her; one could see a moon mark appearing on the head of the Nether Spirit Cat, and complex patterns were slowly emerging on her body as well.

Although Zhu Zhuqing herself was pale as a sheet, she was still gritting her teeth and persisting.

Seeing that Zhuqing was temporarily fine, Zhou Yi set his mind at ease and carefully observed the changes in her body. He saw her body becoming whiter and whiter, like white jade, to the point where the blood vessels and meridians inside her were clearly visible. However, Zhou Yi could feel a radiance constantly circulating within her meridians; presumably, that was the medicinal power of the flower.

Besides that, there were the Moon Evil Seed and Moon Essence Seed in her dantian. They seemed to have turned into a vortex, constantly absorbing a certain power from the ice spring. It looked like they would also undergo a transformation here.

As for the Cold Moon Ghost Flower that Zhu Zhuqing consumed, it was likely an immortal herb. Looking at the environment in which it formed, it required both the cold energy of the ice spring and the absorption of Moon Essence. I'm afraid even the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well couldn't form this flower, as that place couldn't absorb perfect Moon Essence.

Zhou Yi also began his spirit spring body training. Sure enough, although his body and martial soul were not transforming like Zhu Zhuqing's, the Moon Essence and Moon Evil seeds in his dantian were constantly absorbing energy. Zhou Yi was not in a hurry; as expected, they would advance after a month. At the same time, his own physical potential was being gradually stimulated in this bone-chilling cold.

Before long, Jin Ling also came down. Just like that, Jin Ling practiced in the distance, Zhu Zhuqing was in the center, and Zhou Yi was not far from Zhu Zhuqing to prevent any accidents.

They practiced steadily until the tenth day, when Zhu Zhuqing suddenly vomited blood, her whole body filled with black evil energy. Zhou Yi hurriedly went over to examine her.

This was clearly the backlash from a forced transformation due to insufficient physical strength. The evil energy on her now was not the ordinary Moon Evil energy, but an extremely high-level Yin Sha Qi. That's right, it was the power after the Moon Evil energy had advanced.

As expected, it was still too much. If he didn't take some remedial measures for her, she would be killed by the backlash of the Yin Sha Qi.

"A... Yi... I... am... so... cold..." As she spoke, she couldn't help but slowly lean in and embrace Zhou Yi, resting in his arms.

"Damn it! Don't speak for now. I'll restore you first."

While using Spiritual Power and Moon Essence Power to repair Zhu Zhuqing's damaged meridians, he took out a Rejuvenation Talisman and frantically tried to think of a solution.

Unfortunately, these only maintained the status quo and did not treat the root cause.

No wonder his assessment was to assist her in consuming and refining it. Was it true that things wouldn't go smoothly? But since the Moon God said so, there must be something that could help Zhuqing, and it was something only he possessed.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him. He bit his finger on the spot and extended it into Zhuqing's mouth.

"That's great! It's working!"

Zhou Yi saw his own bright red, half-Dragon, half-human blood flowing slowly through Zhuqing's meridians, and the Yin Sha Qi seemed as if it dared not clash at all, retreating again and again.

"Mm... mmm~?"

Gradually, Zhuqing also woke up, but as soon as she woke, her small face flushed red.

It must be said that their current posture was indeed somewhat embarrassing; Zhuqing was lying in Zhou Yi's embrace, her small mouth still sucking on Zhou Yi's finger, looking extremely alluring.

"Don't move! This is to save your life."

Sensing the girl in his arms wanting to struggle, Zhou Yi hurriedly stopped her; upon hearing this, Zhuqing stopped, though she still felt ashamed, and even the roots of her ears turned red.
