Chapter 370: Unchanged
Rong Ci measured her temperature and forced herself to wait for a while, but seeing Feng Tingshen didn't return, she soon fell asleep due to exhaustion.
When she woke up again and opened her eyes, Feng Tingshen was still sitting there reading a book.
Seeing her wake up and stare blankly in his direction, though her gaze wasn't actually fixed on him, Feng Tingshen stood up, walked over, touched her sweat-dampened forehead, and asked: "What's wrong?"
In truth, they hadn't had any physical contact for a long time.
Rong Ci was not quite used to his touch.
Although she knew he was helping her check her temperature, Rong Ci still pushed his hand away and silently shook her head.
She was just surprised that he was still there.
She had thought he left the old mansion after taking that call earlier.
She had broken into another heavy sweat, and only now were there official signs of her fever breaking.
Feeling uncomfortably sticky, she changed into a clean set of clothes again, ate some food, rested for a bit, and then fell asleep once more.
By the time she woke up again, it was already afternoon.
Only then did her fever completely break.
At this time, Feng Tingshen was no longer in the room.
She was the only one left in the room, and it was very quiet.
Just then, a message came in on the phone she had left on the bedside table.
It was from Yu Moxun, asking about her current physical condition.
Rong Ci chatted with Yu Moxun for a few sentences, but since Yu Moxun still had work to attend to, they didn't talk for long.
Putting down the phone, the full view of the room came into her sight.
Because she had been sick earlier, she hadn't paid much attention, but now that she was awake, she realized that this room of Feng Tingshen's was no different from before.
For instance, the bottles and jars on her usual vanity were all still there.
When she had come here to get a change of clothes earlier, she had also noticed that her clothes in the closet were all still there, hanging neatly alongside Feng Tingshen's.
"Are you uncomfortable?"
Hearing the voice, Rong Ci realized she had been lost in thought without noticing, and hadn't even realized when Feng Tingshen had returned to the room.
She withdrew her gaze and shook her head: "No, my fever has broken."
Feng Tingshen gave an "Mm" and said: "I know."
Rong Ci paused, said nothing more, but got out of bed, went to the closet to find a set of daily clothes to change into, then took her phone and turned to leave the room.
Feng Tingshen watched her back: "Where are you going?"
"Out to get some air."
Hearing this, Feng Tingshen didn't say anything else.
A while later, when Feng Tingshen left the room, he found Rong Ci standing on the balcony of the second-floor living room, not knowing what she was looking at.
Feng Tingshen walked over.
Rong Ci noticed the footsteps, withdrew her gaze, and said to Feng Tingshen: "The roads outside are clear for traffic now, and I'm feeling much better, so I'll head back first."
After she finished speaking, Rong Ci paused for half a second before continuing: "Thank you for today."
Feng Tingshen knew she was thanking him for his care.
Before Feng Tingshen could speak, the voice of Old Lady Feng came from behind: "Tingshen, how are you taking care of people? Xiao Ci has only just broken her fever, and you're letting her stand by the window in the breeze? What if she gets a relapse?"
Rong Ci was at a distance from Old Lady Feng, and upon hearing this, she spoke first: "Grandmother, I'm almost better, it's not that easy to get a relapse."
"You just don't know how to cherish your own body." The old lady looked full of disapproval: "Your complexion still isn't very good, you should rest more. It's still early, Xiao Ci, go back to your room and rest a while longer; you can have dinner when you wake up."
