Chapter 562: What is Her Background, Exactly?

The auction started very soon.

Recently, the Lin family and the Sun family had much more cash on hand. After the auction started, they bid on three or four auction items, with a total price of around 20 million.

Their spending could be considered lavish. As they bid on items one after another, many people at the scene cast envious looks at them and politely congratulated them.

Before coming to the auction, Yu Moxun had already set his sights on two or three items. With Rong Ci's advice, he bid on a set of jewelry worth over 10 million.

The Lin family and the Sun family had been keeping an eye on Rong Ci all along.

Although Ren Jifeng and Yao Xinbo didn't pay too much attention to Rong Ci and Yu Moxun, they would occasionally cast their gaze toward them.

Seeing Yu Moxun make such a big move, everyone assumed he had bid on that set of jewelry just for Rong Ci.

Yao Xinbo couldn't help but say to Ren Jifeng: "This Miss Rong is involved with Director Feng in an unclear way, yet Yu Moxun is still so devoted to her, throwing money at her regardless of the cost; it's clear he really loves her. However, this Miss Rong really gets prettier the more you look at her. If it were me—"

Ren Jifeng frowned.

He knew Yao Xinbo was telling the truth.

But he didn't want to discuss too much about Rong Ci, so he didn't respond.

The Lin family and the Sun family had been worrying about money a while ago, living relatively tight lives. Now that they had more cash on hand, they had been quite smug, but now, seeing Yu Moxun wave his hand and give Rong Ci such valuable jewelry, their expressions were not very good.

Sun Liyao was simply envious, jealous, and hateful: "Giving away something worth over 10 million just like that, that Yu Moxun must be a fool!"

Lin Wu and Sun Yueqing didn't speak.

Neither Yu Moxun nor Rong Ci had the heart to pay attention to others.

Rong Ci was there to accompany Yu Moxun and provide advice, but as the auction was nearing its end, she became interested in the highlight of this auction—a master's traditional Chinese painting.

The starting price for that painting was over 10 million.

After the auction price came out, Rong Ci raised her paddle without hesitation.

Seeing Rong Ci raise her paddle, the Sun family, the Lin family, and Ren Jifeng and his group were all stunned.

Sun Liyao looked like she was about to jump up: "Something with a starting price of over 10 million, she, she actually—"

With a starting price of over 10 million, it would take at least 30 to 50 million to win it in the end.

That was 30 to 50 million, not 3,000 or 5,000; Rong Ci actually—

Sun Liyao was so jealous she was almost unrecognizable.

The Sun family and the Lin family didn't speak, but the smiles on their faces had completely disappeared.

Sun Liyao's guess that this painting would take at least 30 to 50 million to win was already an underestimate.

She didn't know that many people at the scene had come specifically for this painting.

And Rong Ci, whenever others bid, basically followed.

At first, the Lin family, the Sun family, Yao Xinbo, Ren Jifeng, and many others at the scene all thought the item was what Yu Moxun had set his sights on. But after Rong Ci raised her paddle twice, they all started to realize that the number paddle in Rong Ci's hand was not the same as the one Yu Moxun had just used.

Yao Xinbo was stunned for a moment and said to Ren Jifeng: "So, this painting is what this Miss Rong wants to buy? It's not Yu Moxun giving it to her?"

You have to know, when bidding for that set of jewelry just now, it was Yu Moxun who raised the paddle.

Ren Jifeng was also somewhat surprised.

At this moment, someone suddenly remembered something: "Isn't this Miss Rong the super buyer who spent 1.8 billion last year to buy a top-tier diamond? She spent nearly 2 billion not long ago, and now she's here to bid on a sky-high priced painting. She's so rich, what is her background, exactly?" ===== CHAPTER 563 =====
