Chapter 569

~3 min read 565 words

Yu Moxun chuckled and couldn’t help saying, “All of them really are turning heaven upside down.”

His business partners had no idea what Yu Moxun was talking about and looked at him in confusion; Yu Moxun smiled and said, “Nothing.”

His business partners didn’t know what Yu Moxun meant, but Rong Ci did.

First there was Ren Ji, then this Director Lian—both came to her to complain about Lin Wu.

What else could this be but turning heaven upside down?

In another private room.

Lin Wu finally learned what Lian Ningqi had done.

She couldn’t help saying, “Actually, there’s no need—”

“I know,” Lian Ningqi smiled. “It’s not entirely because of you. I just got back here and was bored, so I wanted some fun.”

Lin Wu knew that, ultimately, Lian Ningqi had done it for her; she smiled and said, “Thank you.”

“Do we even need to say that between us?” Lian Ningqi laughed, then added, “Come to think of it, ever since yesterday’s little show, my mood has been delightfully good. She actually thought I wanted them to cooperate—haha~”

Lin Wu smiled.

Speaking of which, Lian Ningqi grinned and raised an eyebrow. “By the way, wasn’t it said that Gu Yan entered Changmo specifically to get back at someone for you? How’s he doing now? I didn’t see him at Changmo yesterday.”

Hearing her mention this, Lin Wu paused mid-sip of her soup, then said, “He… has fallen for Rong Ci.”

Lian Ningqi froze. “How is that possible? Perhaps—”

Lin Wu: “It’s true.”

Lian Ningqi froze again; from Lin Wu’s tone, she knew it was genuine.

She furrowed her brow, genuinely surprised.

In her mind, Gu Yan was stubborn and self-centered; given how deeply he once loved Lin Wu, how could he so easily shift his affections to someone else?

Especially when that someone was Rong Ci?

In her view, Rong Ci might be pretty, but beyond beauty, she had no real distinguishing qualities—she shouldn’t have been Gu Yan’s type at all.

After a moment, she came to her senses and said, “Didn’t expect her to be so popular.”

She didn’t really know Yu Moxun.

But Yu Moxun’s name was legendary to her.

Probably Rong Ci had told Yu Moxun about what happened at Changmo yesterday; when she’d just run into Rong Ci and Yu Moxun, his gaze toward her had been unmistakably cold.

It seemed he truly cared for Rong Ci.

Neither Gu Yan nor Yu Moxun were ordinary men—they were both outstanding—yet both had fallen for Rong Ci. How could she not be astonished?

They chatted a while longer; as the meal neared its end and they prepared to leave, Lin Wu checked her phone and said, “Tingshen texted—he’s free tonight and will come to your welcome dinner.”

Lian Ningqi smiled. “Good. I’ve relied on him a lot to smooth things over since returning to Ducheng. I was planning to treat him well.” She smiled again. “But he’s helping me so much only because of you.”

Lin Wu: “Stop teasing me. You two were already close—even without me, Tingshen would’ve helped you.”

In the afternoon, while Rong Ci was busy at work, she suddenly received a call from Feng Jingxin: Feng Tingshen had called to ask her to join him in meeting a friend who had just returned from abroad, so she couldn’t stay for dinner at the Rong residence.
