Lian Ningqi had not expected Rong Ci to be so blunt.

Rong Ci stepped past her and turned away without hesitation.

Lian Ningqi’s expression darkened.

But the matter was urgent; she still had to find a way to resolve it.

She contacted Lin Wu: “She won’t budge. I need someone to mediate—who can I turn to for help?”

Lin Wu paused, then said: “It seems… there really isn’t anyone.”

“Not a single person?”

“She doesn’t get along with anyone on our side. Besides, this matter involves me—even if someone tried to persuade her, her chances of agreeing are slim.”

Lian Ningqi disagreed: “Even if she and Yu Moxun are close, and even if she now seems to control Changmo, this is a major project—if we cooperate, Changmo will make a fortune. I believe Changmo wants to work with us; Rong Ci’s refusal now is just about venting her anger. I’m begging her only because the situation is urgent and we can’t afford to wait.”

“If we can find a way to let her vent that anger, she’ll probably agree.”

Besides, she and Yu Moxun aren’t even married yet—their bond isn’t deep enough. If she truly dares to reject such a great project out of personal spite, wouldn’t Yu Moxun object?”

But that didn’t mean Yu Moxun truly wanted to abandon such a valuable project.

If Changmo truly belonged to Yu Moxun, and Rong Ci held no shares, perhaps that would be true—but Rong Ci is also a major shareholder of Changmo, and she doesn’t seem to lack money at all; she has no reason to humiliate herself by taking on the Lian family’s project.
