Chapter 608: Having Lunch Together

At that moment, the elevator arrived at the floor he needed.

Before stepping out of the elevator, he said, “Do you have time at noon? I’d like to have lunch with you and General Feng.”

When he mentioned Feng Tingshen, his gaze landed on Rong Ci, who had ignored them and walked out of the elevator with someone else.

Lin Wu paused, then said, “I’m free, but Tingshen has a lot of work to handle lately—he seems to already have plans for noon. Let me check with him first, and we’ll get back to you?”

“Alright.”

Rong Ci and Ye Qiuyu both worked on the same floor at Feng Corporation, occasionally crossing paths, but always ignoring each other.

Near noon, Rong Ci dined with Chang Mo’s engineers in the Feng Corporation cafeteria, while Ye Qiuyu received a call from Lin Wu: Feng Tingshen had postponed his prior schedule and reserved a private room, saying he wanted to treat him to lunch.

Lin Wu had mentioned that morning that Feng Tingshen was extremely busy—he had assumed he’d have to wait several days just to share a meal with him.

Besides, he had already witnessed Feng Tingshen’s hectic schedule at the recent Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference.

To be honest, Ye Qiuyu was pleasantly surprised.

Lin Wu and Feng Tingshen no longer seemed to be at Feng Corporation; Feng Tingshen had even sent someone to pick up Ye Qiuyu and take him to the restaurant.

When he arrived at the restaurant, Lin Wu and Feng Tingshen were already there.

Ye Qiuyu immediately felt embarrassed: “Sorry I’m late.”

“No problem, we just got here,” Feng Tingshen replied with a smile. “I wanted to invite you to lunch when we met at the tech conference the other day, but I was too busy and never got the chance.”

“General Feng, don’t say that. I’ve seen firsthand how busy you are. You’ve gone out of your way to reschedule just to have lunch with me—I’m the one who should feel awkward.”

Feng Tingshen smiled. “It’s no big deal.”

Ye Qiuyu felt Feng Tingshen was quite approachable.

He also knew that Feng Tingshen had postponed his work schedule just to have lunch with him because he cared deeply about Lin Wu.

So when he learned Ye Qiuyu wanted to join them for lunch, he immediately pushed back his prior commitments without hesitation.

Feng Tingshen lifted his teacup, took a sip, and regarded Ye Qiuyu with amusement in his eyes. “Brother Ye, I heard you designed the technical architecture for our company’s collaboration project with Zongxing? I’ve reviewed your structure—it has many innovations. Very interesting.”

Ye Qiuyu didn’t really know Feng Tingshen well.

But he knew that beyond his wealthy background, Feng Tingshen had been a top student since childhood; however, he didn’t know what major Feng Tingshen had studied in university.

Hearing this, Ye Qiuyu quickly responded, engaging Feng Tingshen in conversation about their collaborative technical architecture.

He soon realized that whether he discussed the architecture or logical parameters, Feng Tingshen could reply fluently—and even help fill gaps in his design from a different perspective.

As they talked, he froze, unable to help saying, “I didn’t expect General Feng to understand AI so deeply.”

Feng Tingshen: “Brother Ye, you flatter me. I haven’t seriously studied AI-related topics in a long time.”

Ye Qiuyu knew Feng Tingshen was being modest.

He had wanted to have lunch with Feng Tingshen not only to understand him better, but also to find the right moment to bring up his relationship with Rong Ci.
