Chapter 108: The Dark Portal of Azeroth Is Completed, the Arrogant Dalaran

~9 min read 1,629 words

Once all the floating cities are built, no matter which faction, if they later want to obtain Flame Cloud as an energy source, they must come to me to purchase it.

This is an energy monopoly, because this brand-new type of floating city must use the energy provided by Luode to fly; otherwise you'd have to start researching from scratch.

I'll have my subordinates prepare a similar fortress; when the time comes, as the base of our Forsaken, this floating city can better protect the entire Forsaken people. Xierwanasi said.

Xierwanasi had a premonition that in the future skies of Azeroth, there would likely be many flying fortresses.

The technology to build floating cities is actually not difficult; the real difficulty is energy—a suitable energy is the key item that lets floating cities fly.

"This time, regarding the Blood Elf race, what I'm most interested in is actually Holy Light energy and Void energy chunks." Luode said.

These two brand-new energies, this brand-new energy, are what Luode is interested in.

During the Burning Crusade, this void energy crystal was only a fleeting bloom; after the Storm Fortress was conquered, the Blood Elves lost it.

After all, not every place has terrain like the Void Storm that allows them to extract void energy without restraint.

These void energies, in the original Azeroth world, actually opened many demon portals; even in the future, summoning Kil'jaeden used these energies.

"Alright, I'm going back to rest."

"Go ahead! Tonight I won't come back to keep you company; I still have lots of things to handle! There's a whole month's worth of work piled up in the Undercity." Xierwanasi said.

Luode nodded and got up to leave.

That night, Xierwanasi stayed up late handling some trifles in the Undercity, and appeared before all the Forsaken of the Undercity, declaring that she, this queen, belonged to the Undercity.

Meanwhile, Dahe brought Bulin to familiarize themselves well with the Upper City of the Undercity; as for the lower region, it's not really suitable for the living to visit.

Even some Horde envoys, unless necessary, are unwilling to go to the Lower City of the Undercity.

"What an extraordinarily strange world—these dead people actually have self-awareness and can even walk around everywhere." Bulin said, looking at the Forsaken all around with amazement.

This is completely different from the homunculi made by Mom's fruit ability; these guys are truly living corpses! Some even have rotting flesh on their legs, and some are nothing but skeletons from head to toe.

"To be honest, I still prefer the scenery of Orgrimmar; there the style has a desert oasis beauty." Dahe said.

The last time she came to the Azeroth world with Luode, she stayed in Orgrimmar for a while and even received a warm welcome from the orc tribe, so Dahe is quite fond of Orgrimmar.

But to be honest, the Undercity is indeed not great; at least it's not very suitable for the living to reside—the Upper City is slightly better, but the Lower City is simply no place for people to stay.

The two women wandered for a while, then returned to the palace to rest; that night Luode once again refused Bulin, who wanted to stay.

After a silent night, early the next morning Xierwanasi's subordinates came to report that the Dark Portal had finally been completed.

The Dark Portal built by the Undercity and the old Horde towers in a secluded canyon midway between the two locations.

Here, the Undercity's mages have set up a magical barrier that effectively shields against probing by other forces.

"Lord Luode, this is the Dark Portal—I don't know if your side is finished yet?" Kajasi Renquan asked.

"The Dark Portal over there is also finished; now we just need to wait for an opportunity, and we can open both Dark Portals simultaneously." Luode said, looking at the enormous Dark Portal before him.

Once the Dark Portal officially opens, countless demon armies will first surge into Azeroth; afterwards, the Alliance and the Horde will each organize expedition forces to campaign in the outer realms.

For this expedition to the outer realms, Luode plans to join as well; his goals are two: first, to deal with Kael'thas; second, to kill Illidan, who resides in the Dark Temple.

Completely destroy all of Kil'jaeden's plans, so that Kil'jaeden understands that I, Luode, am not some insignificant pawn you can push around, but a future commander who can stand equal to you.

In the Burning Legion's roster, Sargeras ranks first as the legion's leader and strongest combat power.

Second is the Titan Destroyer Agus, who controls death's power; however, this Destroyer usually does not take the initiative, but instead guards the legion's base at Agus.

Using his own deathly power, he resurrects and escorts all non-native species of the Burning Legion within the Twisting Nether.

To be honest, if this Titan who controls the death attribute could be born normally and join the Pantheon, he would certainly not be inferior to Sargeras; alas, this one has been enslaved by Sargeras.

Next in combat strength is the third Titan, also a Titan enslaved by Sargeras— his former subordinate, Agelama.

Speaking of Titans in terms of biological prestige, basically, aside from the Primordial Born, they are the highest rank; even before the concept of the Primordial Born appeared, Titans were the top tier. After that come the two big shots of the Burning Legion, Archimonde and Kil'jaeden, plus a whole bunch of demon commanders.

And what Luode wants to obtain is a status equal to Kil'jaeden and Archimonde, becoming the third commander of the Burning Legion.

Soon Luode infused the Dark Portal on this side of the Azeroth world with spatial coordinates, an anchor point, and installed two spatial energy crystals.

Through the two clusters of spatial energy he left behind, Luode successfully contacted Leitessen, who is still over on the pirate affairs side.

"Luode, are you my apprentice?" Leitessen asked via a faint sensation.

"It's me, your master! I've already completed the preliminary preparations for the Dark Portal on this side of Azeroth; now, as long as we two work together, we can open the Dark Portal." Luode said.

"Shall we start now?" After confirming that the other party was his apprentice, Leitessen nodded and asked.

"No rush, Master, but for the next two days you need to stay here; the Dark Portal could open at any moment, and I'm waiting for a certain time." Luode said.

It should be just these few days— Kazake will open the Dark Portal; during this period, unless necessary, Luode doesn't want to leave the Dark Portal.

After all, the opportunity comes only once; if you miss this chance to open the gate, then any future attempt to open the Dark Portal will have no cover— the Horde now certainly won't die defending you.

And the Forsaken led by Xierwanasi cannot withstand the entirety of Azeroth's forces.

"I understand, my apprentice; I will keep waiting here."

Luode nodded here and directly cut off the Dark Portal's connection.

That afternoon, Luode and Xierwanasi met in the hall with the Dalaran mage Rhonin.

"Nice to see you again, Mr. Luode, Ms. Xierwanasi." Rhonin said politely.

After arriving at the Undercity today, he heard some bad news: yesterday the two met with the mages of Silvermoon City, and they seemed to have reached some kind of cooperation, which is not good for the Alliance.

Indeed, at this very moment, King Walian went missing; without him presiding over the big picture, the nobles of Stormwind City are just a bunch of idiots.

"Long time no see, Master Rhonin." Xierwanasi said with a smile.

Rhonin glanced at Xierwanasi, furrowed his brows, and now her feeling to him is very strange.

The change in appearance is secondary, but what matters is the shift in inner aura; Rhonin now feels that Xierwanasi is somewhat like a living person.

"Xierwanasi lady! Your feeling to me is somewhat different."

"How to put it? I feel you've become much gentler, and as for your aura, I don't know why, but I sense you've come back to life." Rhonin said.

Xierwanasi's current appearance is just that her eyes changed from blood-red to light blue; her aura has undergone some changes, yet there's a feeling that the other party is a living person.

"This isn't your concern, Grand Magister Rhonin; this time, have you brought us any good news?" Luode shook his head and asked.

You care about too many topics, Luo Ning.

"Mr. Luode, our Dalaran Kenruituo Six-person Council, after some discussion, can open up some magic books for you, but you must go to Dalaran to read them." Luoning said.

"It's just a portion of the books; I want to know specifically which portion. This answer is very flexible—giving me one book to look at counts as a portion, and viewing 99% of the books also counts as a portion." Luode said.

"Aside from some books about the Guardians and some evil magic, you can read all other magic books, but only in Dalaran, and you may not copy them." Luoning said.

Basically, nothing much has changed from before; a floating fortress is indeed eye‑catching, but Dalaran has already taken flight—obviously these old sorcerers don't want to pay too high a price.

Anyway, the idea is to trick yourself into going to Dalaran, heh! You're just as arrogant as Jierjidan's lackeys.

"Heh! Please tell the other Dalaran Kenruituo Six-day Council mages that from now on, I will not sell this special cloud to Dalaran."

"I've already reached a cooperation agreement with Silvermoon City, so if there's nothing urgent, Mr. Luoning, you may leave." Luode said bluntly.

The books of Karazhan—you lot in Dalaran can forget about it.
