Chapter 35: Return, an Unexpected Explosive-Haired Skull

~5 min read 953 words

"Welcome back, Master. Did you bring guests with you?" the little succubus asked, smiling at the strange group before her.

"Is this another world? It looks pretty much the same as ours, huh?" Kaido said, looking around.

A huge monster with horns, standing over seven meters tall—a height that's nothing in the Burning Legion but terrifying in the human world.

They seem to be a human with a pair of horns on his head, plus an extremely exaggerated woman—2.6 meters tall, seriously? Another is relatively normal; among those brought back, he counts as normal: an average-sized woman wearing a mask, a dark-white dress, and a blue cape.

And finally there's a skeleton! Also highly abnormal—tall and exaggerated, about 2.7 meters, a stick-thin, lanky skeleton.

He even has an afro, and his eyes are literally spinning in circles—what a joke, you don't even have eyes! He looks like a skeleton, but his behavior is nothing like one.

"Your master is back—what do we say about this exploding skull head?"

"He's just an accident, huh! Hey! Wake up, you guy." Luode walked up to the exploding skull, kicked it, and said.

"That look, that appearance—must be Brook of the Straw Hat crew. How did this bastard end up here?"

"Cough cough! Hmm... where am I? Uh, two lovely ladies, could I borrow your panties to take a look?" The exploding skull glanced around, saw Yamato and Runti, then rushed over and asked.

Yamato and Runti both stepped back in disgust.

"Hey! Who are you? Why are you here? And how can you be alive as a skeleton? Some Devil Fruit ability?" Kaido lifted Brook, smirking.

When Luode kid used his ability to bring them to the new world, that guy suddenly flew over, collided with us, and got brought along.

"I'm already dead, so I'm a skeleton but still alive—Yohoho—"

"Just kidding, everyone—I'm Brook, musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, for some unknown reason."

"We clashed with Big Bear of the Seven Warlords, and I got blown away—I don't know how my captain is doing." Brook said.

These people all seem like experts—so where exactly have I been sent?

"Huh? You're messing with me, little skeleton—what's your Devil Fruit ability?" Kaido hoisted Brook, shook him in the air, and said.

"My appearance is indeed strange—I ate the Yellow Springs Fruit and, for some reason, came back to life after death."

"But my body is nothing but bone now, so I'm stuck like this—how rude of me—Yohoho—" Brook said.

Luode frowned beside him. "That's not the issue—you shouldn't have been blasted to some other island, the Poor Kingdom, and worshiped as an evil god by those guys, right?"

Why was I sent to Wano Country, and why did it happen to coincide with when I activated my ability to cross worlds?

The Seven Warlords' Big Bear did it on purpose!

So what exactly caused Big Bear to launch the exploding-skulled Brook into Wano Country, just as I was teleporting away?

"Brook, I ask you: when Big Bear blasted you, did you say anything weird? He asked where you'd like to go if you could travel—how did you answer? Did you say anything strange?" Luode said. "Ah! Sogat! I remember—he really did ask me that."

"I said if possible, I'd like to meet the maker of this green healing stone—maybe they could restore my flesh." Brook pulled a green healing stone from his pocket and said.

When they caused a ruckus at the Sabaody Archipelago, they looted some auction items, one of which was this stone that can heal injuries.

This item was specially ordered by Miss Nami to be snatched up; its value has even been driven up to Devil Fruit levels.

"This healing stone is mine—how did you get it? So you want to see me?" Luode asked.

So is it because of my healing stone that Big Bear had Brook blasted over here?

"Cough! Cough! Here's the deal: lately a miraculous green stone has been rumored about in the Grand Line."

"This stone supposedly heals serious injuries instantly; when we first learned of its efficacy, our ship doctor Chopper flatly refused to believe it, saying such a thing absolutely couldn't exist."

"For some reason, our captain caused a scene at the auction and snagged two healing stones."

"He immediately used it on the injured mermaid we'd just rescued—her wounds healed at visible speed, which dealt a heavy blow to Chopper."

"Then Big Bear of the Seven Warlords blasted me here." Brook said.

In skeleton form, Brook doesn't know why, but he constantly feels that the energy inside this green healing stone is somehow linked to him.

It seems to contain something that attracts him.

That attraction seems to come from his own soul, and the materials of this green healing stone appear very beneficial to him.

But Brook never said any of that out loud.

"So you think this green stone can restore your flesh?" Luode stroked his chin and asked.

Brook ate the Yellow Springs Fruit, and many of his abilities shown in the anime involve souls and the dead.

And the healing stone's material is exactly soul fragments, so it attracts Brook.

"If you can manage it, please do help—I would be eternally grateful."

"Alright, just stay for now!" This guy is an extremely unusual undead; I don't know how he differs from the undead beings of Azeroth.

Perfect for running experiments—or giving as a gift.

"Cough cough! If you, sir, can't help me, could you at least let me go? I still need to find my captain." Brook said, eyeing Luode's obviously ill-intentioned gaze.

"Don't be polite—just stay. Anyway, you can't go anywhere; this is another new world."
