Chapter 68: Kaido VS Mathers (Update: Seeking Subscriptions!)
Just freed Mathers hadn't even reacted when he saw a burly man leap up, waving a thick, huge spiked club, swinging it straight at him.
Mathers, head-on, collided with Kaido's enormous spiked club, the pitch-black spiked club, hammering hard into the Abyssal Lord's skull.
Mathers took the blow squarely, even the fel fire on his head was considerably weakened.
He swayed, obviously still dazed.
Kaido didn't attack immediately, resting the spiked club on his shoulder, wearing a grim smile as he eyed the massive creature before him.
This guy's strength is immense. Even with my full strength just now, a single blow didn't kill him.
"Insignificant mortal, you dare sneak‑attack the great Outland King? I'll show you Mathers' might." The Abyssal Lord shook his head, let out a roar, lifted his huge halberd, and lunged at Kaido.
"Hahaha! That's more like it. Now I either want you to kill me, or I'll kill you—no, I'll beat you half to death." Kaido said.
If I killed him, there'd be no fel blood left—I'm counting on this Abyssal Lord's blood to create more powerful subordinates; I can't waste it.
"Die!" Mathers roared in fury, raising his massive halberd and smashing it toward Kaido.
The huge spiked club and the Abyssal Lord's weapon collided with earth‑shaking force; Kaido's build is slightly smaller than the Abyssal Lord's, but his strength is not much inferior.
The two clashed; Kaido stood firm, while the Abyssal Lord, weapon and all, was knocked back several steps, his hind hooves dropping to the ground as he barely kept his balance.
If he weren't quadrupedal, he would have already dropped to his knees.
"Damn it! Who—what are you, where did you come from?" Mathers stared at the hulking bull‑headed monster before him, his face grim as he asked.
After just that brief exchange, he realized the opponent's strength was terrifying; in pure power, the Abyssal Lord clan had never feared anyone.
Whether it's the dragons of Azeroth or otherworldly beasts, in a test of strength the Abyssal Lords have never lost!
But today there's actually a guy who can suppress me in strength—what the hell? "Cut the chatter! Take this move—Thunder Eight Trigrams!" Lightning crackled around Kaido's spiked club.
He swung it at a certain Abyssal Lord.
"Fel Fire Blast." Massive fel energy gathered on his weapon; the Abyssal Lord also roared and launched his attack at Kaido.
The Abyssal Lord clan is also famed as battle‑crazed; they love fighting above all.
Back then Illidan managed to defeat and imprison himself only because a traitor appeared—his female demon subordinates, for some unknown reason, rose up in mutiny; otherwise he wouldn't have fallen so easily. (That ruin‑mistress demon of the Hall of Bliss, upon seeing Illidan, immediately surrendered with all her female demon underlings.) The two massive weapons clashed again, a fierce melee erupted, and Kaido, exhilarated, waved his spiked club in relentless assault.
The Abyssal Lord on the other side showed no weakness, swinging his weapon and meeting Kaido blow for blow.
"Are you kidding? Actually managing to fight an Abyssal Lord to this extent—and that's an Abyssal Lord!" Watching the two colossal beasts battling in the distance, the old orc spoke with deep feeling.
Back then, Warscream Grommash could kill Mannoroth only by pulling off a surprise‑winning move: charging at absolute speed, sacrificing his life, he struck the Abyssal Lord's weak point—and that's how he won.
Even so, I too paid with my life, yet this guy now relies purely on his flesh to go toe‑to‑toe with an Abyssal Lord—know that even dragons lack that kind of courage.
"This guy's head is tough enough—he didn't get his skull blown open." Luode stroked his chin and said.
The Warscream just split his skull with one axe, yet your Kaido's club strike left his head intact—kinda cheapens him.
"Kaido, you up for it?" the old orc Rettssen said.
"." Sylvanas said.
Do you really think the Abyssal Lord's defense is weak? Back on Mount Hyjal, the Horde and Alliance teamed up, barely managing to defeat a single Abyssal Lord, and paid a huge price for it.
"Let's deal with these fel orcs first—I know who he is, the chieftain of the Broken Hand clan." Rettssen looked at the fel orcs kneeling on the ground, bereft of fighting spirit, and said.
Among them are many of his old acquaintances: the Broken Hand chieftain, Kargath Bladefist.
Warbringer O'mrogg, high warlock Nathrezim, and the Shatterer Kridan.
These once‑valiant warriors of the old Horde—former great chieftains, former high warlocks—have now fallen into fel orcs, become lackeys of the Burning Legion demons.
In the old orc's eyes, Illidan has already joined the Burning Legion. "You! You were once Gul'dan, a member of the Shadow Council; I remember you, you were his warlock." Kargath Bladefist said.
"Former Broken Hand chieftain, take a look at yourself now—how pathetic, once a hero of the Horde reduced to this." Rettssen spoke with a complex expression.
"I haven't allied with those demons; Illidan promised us he'd take revenge on the Burning Legion and wipe it out." A fel orc general said.
"The Outland King Illidan promised us he'd restore the orcs' glory and lead us to defeat the Burning Legion; even now, the blood maggot Talon serves under him." Kargath Bladefist said.
The other's look made him uncomfortable; although he'd allied with others, he had no intention of serving the Burning Legion, Illidan had assured them of that.
Moreover, he personally led them in assaults on Burning Legion worlds, which is why these orcs submit to Illidan.
"Utterly foolish to believe demon lies! Illidan is just enslaving you—look what you've become; how little you differ from demons, or are you already demons?" Rettssen said.
"You're talking nonsense! Illidan never said that; moreover, Illidan himself underwent fel augmentation, and his demon hunters under him—we are rebelling against the Burning Legion." A high‑rank fel orc warlock said.
"Hmph! You've all been duped, every last one of you—Illidan is nothing but a lackey of the Burning Legion. He once swore fealty to Kil'jaeden, personally marched to the Frozen Throne of Azeroth to slay the Lich King, failed, and fled back to Outland." Rettssen said.
"You, you're saying Illidan is a traitor who betrayed us?" a fel orc overseer exclaimed in disbelief.
Hearing this, Luode was somewhat speechless; Illidan this guy really does want to destroy the Burning Legion, even planning to blow up the planet Argus via a portal detonation.
But sadly he only wants to be a lone hero, his mind fixed on two things: how to annihilate the Burning Legion, and how to bring his sister‑in‑law home.
In Illidan's life, Tyrande's standing even surpasses the Burning Legion; this woman is his fatal flaw—too bad! She's your sister‑in‑law, yet you lack the guts to take her.
In the end Kil'jaeden resorted to some sneaky scheming, getting Alliance and Horde folks to deal with him.
But now the one who'll settle him is me—just rest easy, Illidan! No need to think about "bringing the sister‑in‑law home" anymore.
"Alright, enough talk—now everyone kneel, or you'll die." Rettssen said.
The few fel orcs present exchanged glances, let out a helpless sigh, and frankly, they harbor considerable resentment toward Illidan.
Many fel orcs feel Illidan is using them, but orcs are single‑minded, sometimes easy to sway; Illidan did indeed bring them to strike the Burning Legion several times.
Now they don't know who to trust, but the situation clearly favors the other side.
"Let them just stay put for now—they've got little fight left; the battle over there should be decided soon." Sylvanas gazed at the distant clash and said.
At this very moment, Kaido had transformed into his beast‑human form, fully half‑dragon, a massive tail sprouting from his back, his height increased further, his physique even more exaggerated.
And his whole body was wreathed in a flicker of fel flame.
"You, you also command fel power—why attack me? You should join the Legion." Mathers panted heavily as he spoke.
"Hahahaha! Shut up—our goal is battle, or are you just spent?" Kaido swung his spiked club, raining mad blows on the Abyssal Lord.
"Damn it, I've been locked up for years, and they keep draining my blood, which has weakened my strength."
Damn, I've been imprisoned for so many years, and they keep drawing my blood, causing my strength to decline.
"I am not at my peak right now; otherwise, how could you possibly have defeated me?" Maselidun said, forcing himself to speak.
"When fighting, don't make so many excuses; the reason you were captured and imprisoned by the enemy is because you are too weak—weakness is your original sin." Kaido said.
"At this moment, Kaido had had enough fun; he gripped his spiked club, imbuing it with Armament Haki, Conqueror's Haki, rage, and the power of malevolent energy."
"Great Virtue! Sinful Wrath Eight Trigrams!" Kaido's ferocious strike swept across the abdomen of the Abyssal Lord.
