Chapter 7: Fel Arts
Several small pirates instantly felt their bodies go out of control, their whole bodies going limp, as if their bodies had been emptied.
Luode's palm emitted a green light, dark-green rays enveloping all the pirates, directly immobilizing their bodies.
This is the true power of a warlock; the magic they command is terribly frightening—even a warlock who has casually trained for a while can easily deal with mages who have trained for decades.
Fel energy is the bane of arcane energy and of all life; when ordinary professionals face a warlock, they naturally fall into a disadvantage.
Only holy power can restrain fel energy.
"What the hell is this? Devil Fruit ability—our power seems to be disappearing."
"Damn it, this bastard, this bastard, is a Devil Fruit user."
"Our bodies—we absolutely can't move."
"Please, treasure, treasure—I'll give you all of it, just spare us; we, we are just ordinary pirates of a pirate crew." The leading pirate said in terror.
At this point he discovered that some of his weak subordinates had completely lost consciousness, their eyes rolled white, and their bodies began to wither, each resembling a dried corpse.
"I harbor no grudges against you all from the past, nor any resentment today—I merely happen to be practicing some magic that requires souls and life energy, so I trouble you to contribute, to lend me your life essence." Luode said, then took out a magic crystal.
Storing all excess life energy and soul fragments in the crystal, frankly speaking, the pirate world is truly a treasure trove of feng shui. There are far too many experimental materials here—if I were to use fel energy this frequently in the Azeroth world to drain others' lives...
That would have long since drawn the mages of Dalaran, or paladins from other regions, to launch a crusade.
Before coming to the pirate world, Luode's strength was actually not strong; he could only be considered a warlock apprentice.
But after a long time in the pirate world, Luode absorbed vast amounts of ordinary pirates' life energy, trained in fel magic, and his strength surged forward leaps and bounds.
But unfortunately, last time he came to the pirate world, he could only stay a dozen or so days, so the fel energy he absorbed wasn't much; this time he can stay over a month, so he can properly absorb it.
Several minutes later, over a dozen small pirates all turned into desiccated corpses, and Luode happily harvested their life energy.
"In the pirate world, an ordinary pirate's life energy equals that of several ordinary people in the Azeroth world—this world's human physique is truly formidable." Luode said, quite satisfied.
The world of the Pirate King is truly a great place.
I don't know just how strong Beast Kaido's strength is, but if my plan succeeds, there's no doubt I'll reap a tremendous combat power.
Over the next few days, Luode stayed quietly on the island, practicing the newly acquired fel magic.
Shadow Arrow, Corrosion, Banish, Fear, Life Drain, Weakness Curse, Shadowburn, Sacrifice, Consume—these are all offensive spells that employ fel energy, shadow power, summoning fel flames of destruction to attack enemies.
Defensive-support spells include the Eye of Kilrogg, which can create an illusionary eye to observe a region from afar.
Creating lesser soul stones and lesser healing stones—these are better than the basic versions and restore power more strongly. The demon summoning circle summons demons from the twisted nether; for now, Luode can summon the lowest-level imps, hellhounds, succubi, and voidwalkers.
Endless Breath. Allows breathing underwater for 10 minutes.
The preceding spells can be cast, but the demon summoning circle fails when attempted in the Pirate King world.
In this world, even if the demon summoning circle is constructed, demons cannot be summoned unless one first summons them in the Azeroth world and then brings them here.
Besides these spells, Luode also trained in the spell to summon a nightmare horse, which can summon a nightmare steed that can gallop on the water surface.
The spell Luode practiced most is enslaving demons, and it is a high-level enslavement spell that he will need to use soon.
The true demon enslavement spell is a warlock's signature skill; using it allows permanent control and enslavement of a demon, but one must inscribe the enslavement sigil on the demon's soul and suppress its soul to control it.
In the Azeroth world, this move can only control demons weaker than oneself, for one must thoroughly subdue them, leaving them with no capacity to resist, before inscribing the sigil on their soul.
But in the Pirate King world, Luode intends to cheat—Beast Kaido's personality is absolutely uncooperative, let alone making him a subordinate; he must resort to underhanded tactics.
So what Luode needs to do next is to completely control Beast Kaido, thereby further controlling the entire Beast Pirates.
His own blood of the Abyssal Lord, as long as Beast Kaido drinks it, can transform him into a demon; before he transforms into a demon, Luode will pre-inscribe the soul enslavement sigil on his body.
Before that, what he needs to do is gain Kaido's trust and make him believe that drinking this will greatly enhance his power.
Five days later, a huge golden-colored ship arrived near the island where Luode was, and the renowned Desuoluo Ship was actually brought to this unnamed deserted island.
A black big-headed doll emerged from underground.
"Suoluo! Suoluo! Mr. Luode, it's been ages—Mr. Desuoluo, and also the Beast Pirates' top commander, Lady Kuinyin, are waiting for you; please come aboard!" Mr. Tanaka said.
"Then it's trouble for you, Mr. Tanaka—please lead the way!" Luode put away his staff.
After applying Magic Armor and Endless Breath, he then boarded the Great Desuoluo Ship.
Others don't know what catnip is on the Big Brother Suoluo Ship, but he knows it clearly; if he doesn't cast Magic Armor, as soon as he gets stuck with those golden powders, he'll be controlled by Desuoluo.
Magic Armor, the warlock's signature skill, can boost one's defense, forming an illusory armor on the body; these armors can effectively isolate Desuoluo's golden powder.
It is precisely because of this move that, when they first met, Desuoluo dared not attack him.
