Chapter 102: Wailali's Confession

~8 min read 1,458 words

Hearing the voice, Weiliya's heart trembled, and she hastily turned her head.

"Fulade~" On Weiliya's alluring, slightly plump face, a look of pleasant surprise suddenly appeared upon seeing Fulade's arrival.

Without excessive words, Weilia flew into Fulade's embrace like a young swallow returning to its nest, embracing him passionately.

Licking his lips, which had gone slightly numb from the kiss of this mature woman, and looking at the faint glimmer of tears in her eyes, Fulade asked again.

"Was it Luxi's father?" Fulade asked with a frown.

By rights, given Luxi's strength, plus the fact that she would have at least some guard up against her own father, it shouldn't have turned out like this.

Could there have been some other turn of events involved?

Weiliya's expression darkened, and her fair hands couldn't help but cover her forehead as she said in considerable pain:

"I don't know. There are indeed many claw marks on Luxi, but the problem is that Luxi's father is also dead. I can't determine it."

Fulade was startled upon hearing this—Luxi's father was actually dead too!

"What about their remains, are they still there?"

Weiliya opened her somewhat reddened eyes and said, "They're here, in the little chapel in the village."

"Take me to see."

The three of them arrived at the little chapel in Jianjiaocun, where they saw two figures covered in white cloth, presumably Luxi and her father.

Lifting the white cloth, what met their eyes was Luxi's deathly pale face.

As the white cloth was lifted, Fulade could see more and more wounds appearing on Luxi's body, basically all of them ferocious, thick scratch marks.

Especially the wound at her heart—it caused the fullness of her left chest to vanish entirely, exposing the mangled, shattered heart chamber within the chest cavity.

This was the true cause of Luxi's death.

After concentrating and carefully examining for a moment, a trace of anger flashed through Fulade's eyes.

Turning to lift the cloth from Luxi's father, he found no particularly obvious wounds—only the depression at the top of the skull and the eerily twisted neck were the true culprits behind his death.

He set down the cotton cloth and walked outside.

Looking at Weiliya, who had hurried after him, Fulade said, "The two were killed by the same person."

"Judging from the aura left at the wounds on the corpses, it should be the work of a Wizard—to be precise, a Bloodline Sorcerer," Fulade said, rubbing his chin.

"Luxi's father doesn't have many injuries on him, which shows the assailant was powerful, yet the skull was shattered in a single blow. On the other hand, Luxi has multiple wounds on her body, which indicates the opponent excels at strength but not speed."

As his words fell, Fulade produced several brown hairs and handed them to Weiliya: "These were found at Luxi's fingertips."

Weiliya blinked her reddened eyes, examined them for a long while, then abruptly looked up and said, "F-Fulade, these are hairs from a brown bear."

"The village hunted a few brown bears before, and I skinned them at the time. I can't be mistaken," Weiliya cried out with agitation.

Looking at Weiliya, whose tears flowed from emotion, Fulade comforted her for a few moments, then asked for the location of the incident and headed toward the scene.

Looking at the broken trees all around and the traces remaining on the ground, this further confirmed his conjecture.

"Annie, follow the tracks and go search. Whether or not you find any clues, come back before dark," Fulade said, turning his head toward Annie.

Returning to Weiliya's home, before Fulade could even sit down, Weiliya bolted the door, passionately threw herself at him, and began tearing at his clothes.

At the same time, she murmured, "Fulade, you'll avenge Luxi, won't you!"

"I've been so miserable these past few days. Give it to me, give it to me!"

Looking at Weiliya, whose eyes were red and whose expression was nearly twisted.

Fulade struck her unconscious with a single palm—not that Fulade was refusing beauty, but the timing was rather inappropriate.

Setting Weiliya down properly, Fulade unbolted the door.

He saw a figure approaching from the distant woods, draped in a red cloak—none other than Little Red Riding Hood, Wailali.

It seemed she had previously gone to her grandmother's house; the red cloak was a gift from Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother.

However, beside her, a fly was buzzing around in circles at this moment—it was none other than Wailali's childhood sweetheart, Bide.

As the door opened, the two in the distance also noticed Fulade's presence.

Wailali, who had been chatting with Bide in fits and starts, froze right where she was.

Fulade cast a cold glance at the two, then turned and went back inside the house.

"That, that was..." Wailali murmured. Only upon realizing that the other party had merely cast a cold glance in this direction did she react belatedly, shake off Bide, hurriedly lift her skirt, and run toward home with a face full of joy.

After dinner, Wailali, with a face full of grievance, under her mother Weiliya's sighing gaze, pulled Fulade and walked out of the house.

"Brother Fulade, do you not like me anymore?" Wailali said to Fulade, who had been wearing a cold expression toward her ever since they met.

In truth, Fulade was not angry; rather, he had discovered that Bide, at some unknown point, had actually become a werewolf as well, and Wailali's red cloak actually carried magical fluctuations.

One could say that at this point, the plot of Little Red Riding Hood had gone completely off the rails.

Bide aside for now—he was merely an insignificant minor character.

But in the film Little Red Riding Hood, Wailali's grandmother was just an ordinary person. If she were a Witch, how could she have been so easily killed by Wailali's werewolf father?

Carrying a trace of doubt, Fulade spoke up and asked, "This cloak is quite nice. Did your grandmother give it to you?"

Wailali was taken aback, not expecting Fulade to care about the origin of a cloak.

"Mm, yes, this is a gift from my grandmother. She told me to wear it at all times, saying it would bring me good luck," Wailali nodded innocently.

Fulade could see that this red cloak carried a profoundly mysterious aura; its specific function was unclear.

But draped over Wailali, another function was brought to the fore—namely, Wailali's own aura had vanished.

This was actually a magical artifact with the function of concealing one's aura, and it was also accompanied by the unknown effects of mysterious Witchcraft.

If not for Fulade's ability to sense blood, he would not have easily detected Wailali's presence.

"Brother Fulade, are, are you angry with me?" Wailali asked uneasily.

Ever since she met Fulade three years ago, the innocent Wailali's heart had been filled with thoughts of Fulade.

Even when faced with the attentive courting of her childhood sweetheart, Wailali had never wavered.

A mature man—especially one who was mature, gentle, and charming—always attracted a young girl's heart. Not to mention, Fulade always gave her a kind of bad-boy fantasy.

Don't think Wailali doesn't know what happened that night.

At first she just thought it was her own dream.

Until she said, "Fulade brother, I've waited for you three years, I've been waiting for you."

Wailali burst into a passionate confession, suddenly lifted her head, stood on tiptoe, and lunged to kiss Fulade.

"I've been waiting for you to come drink my blood; I've always known."

Her voice trembled faintly, a breath of hot air came.

Her rosy lips fell like raindrops, constantly eroding Fulade's lips and cheeks, appearing clumsy yet urgent.

Faced with the girl's lovesick confession, Fulade blinked, and a restless little fish suddenly darted in, swimming back and forth.

History seemed to enter another cycle once again.

This time, however, it was Luxi replaced by Wailali.

In the dark night, as a coo rang out, a scorching hot round mass behind him suddenly crowded over.

The round fullness pressed tightly against his back, trembling with his movements.

After a night of debauchery, the sky grew faintly light.

Gazing at the two bright red spots on Wailali's delicate neck.

He rose, pushed Weiliya behind him aside, dressed, and headed for Wailali's grandmother's house.

"Creak~"

In the distance, the moment Fulade spotted the forest cabin, its door swung open on its own.

"You knew I would come," Fulade asked.

In the room, a middle-aged Witch with golden long hair awaited Fulade's arrival.

"Dark Master, honorable Prince Fulade."

The middle-aged Witch rubbed the crystal ball in her hand that emitted a hazy light, gazing gloomily at Fulade as he entered the cabin.
