Chapter 109: Dragon and Demon

~6 min read 1,093 words

As the rolling stones kept sliding down, the entire underground space quickly grew dim.

"Fulade, I tell you, don't act recklessly."

A slightly panicked voice suddenly rang out in the darkness.

"Splash~!!"

A rush of water sounded, and in the emerald lake, two silhouettes gradually emerged.

"Antidote!" A deep, angry roar came from Fulade's mouth.

A pair of crimson eyes, even through the dim space, remained clearly visible.

Prominent blue veins stood out on Fulade's handsome face, making it especially ferocious.

A pair of bloodthirsty fangs involuntarily protruded from his mouth.

Staring with a man‑eating gaze, fixed on Fulade, Ma'erjin twisted her neck, forced a calm exterior, and with a cold sneer said:

"This voodoo has no antidote at all~! Just let that heart die."

"At most half a quarter‑hour, you'll succumb to the poison and die."

Ma'erjin looked at Fulade mockingly, her heart panting, but outwardly showing no weakness.

At that moment, Fulade felt an intense heat, a urge to destroy everything before him.

Before losing his mind, he had intended to use his blood to expel the toxins.

But as the blood circulated, it instead accelerated the toxins' infiltration, and cold beads of sweat slid down his forehead.

A desire to annihilate everything, along with a scorching agitation from deep within his body, constantly stimulated Fulade's sensitive nerves.

Just as Fulade forced himself to suppress the internal abnormality, Ma'erjin seized the moment, swiftly turning into black mist and slipping away from Fulade's grasp.

"Just endure half a quarter‑hour, and Fulade's soul will be torn apart by chaotic will, ending in a body‑burst death, humph…" Ma'erjin sneered inwardly.

This poison is a by‑product unintentionally created when Ma'erjin concocted this medicinal lake, and it normally pervades this underground space.

Only by entering the lake at the first moment can one avoid the corruption of this death‑plague voodoo.

Fulade could be said to have been outwitted by his own cleverness.

Ma'erjin exploited the wary mindset that anomalies herald monsters, misleading Fulade into fearing the lake; this shows her cunning and grasp of human nature.

A sudden surge of force arrived; before Ma'erjin could get far, a powerful hand yanked her downward in an instant.

Ma'erjin shivered in terror, thinking: I must not be caught by him, or I'll be torn to pieces by the maddened Fulade! She stared at Fulade, whose skin reddened, radiating heat, his gaze filled with destruction and madness.

Especially as the lake's energy surged in, the last hint of clarity in his eyes vanished.

"Roaaar~!!"

A thunderous dragon roar rang out; Ma'erjin broke free from Fulade's arm, transformed into a black giant dragon and surged skyward.

Driven by instinct, Fulade also assumed a Demon form, constantly chasing behind the dragon and wildly unleashing his desire to destroy everything around him.

For a moment, the clash and booming sounds filled the entire underground space.

But the underground chamber was far too cramped to allow the two massive beings to maneuver freely.

Soon the two pursued each other and engaged in close‑quarters combat.

"Boom~!!"

"Splash-splash~!!"

Flames erupted as rocks from the cavern ceiling continuously rained down.

A Demon silhouette brimming with brutal, destructive aura suddenly burst from the Dragon Flame, seized the inescapable black giant dragon, intending to tear its body apart.

The dragon, to resist the Demon, launched a desperate counterattack.

Blood fell like rain; by now both had abandoned any civilized fighting style.

Only primal violence remained.

Biting, clawing—any body part that could be used was exploited to the extreme. Yet as time passed, the ferocious melee of the two massive beasts gradually shifted in tone, becoming something entirely different.

"Roaaar~~!"

The black giant dragon suddenly widened its pupils and let out a high, resonant roar.

After a moment of tightening, its body struggled ever more violently.

Massive dragon claws clawed desperately, and its metallic dragon tail behind emitted a splash-splash sound, trying to break free from the Demon's grasp.

But as the Demon bit and struck furiously, the dragon's howl gradually grew weak, its tone completely altered.

Soon, the strange dragon roars faded, and a woman's soft gasp suddenly rang out.

As the emerald lake churned, the forms of the two massive creatures' battle shifted dramatically.

But the process was far from the imagined splendor.

The lake surged, and the ground trembled.

The dragon periodically gathered strength and rose to resist, only to meet even harsher retaliation.

For a while, intermittent high dragon roars echoed through the underground, interwoven with the Demon's whispers.

Time passed, and the battle lasted a full three days.

In this dark underground realm, every corner bore the brutal marks of their combat.

Sinkholes, fissures, and deformed lakebeds littered the ground with broken stones.

The severity of the carnage is evident.

During this time, Ma'erjin repeatedly launched resistance.

At times she turned into a human to struggle and flee, at others she shapeshifted into a dragon to bite and roar.

Regardless of the method, whenever Ma'erjin mounted a resistance, it was met with the Demon's even more brutal onslaught and destruction.

The previously feeble dragon roar now rose into a high, resonant cry.

The dragon, stripped of its resistance, resigned itself and began to be manipulated by the Demon.

Until a day later.

With Fulade's roar, a final powerful strike was unleashed.

Ma'erjin, crouched at the riverbank, scarred all over, the fair, plump body flushed with a strange rosy hue.

After a wave of intense shivering.

The two exhausted the last shred of strength and both fell into unconsciousness.

Ma'erjin, plump and covered with claw marks like a peach, slowly slipped into the water.

Fulade, pressed close behind Ma'erjin, also slipped down.

Thus, the two, tightly embracing in unconsciousness, fell toward the bottom of the emerald lake.

It can be seen that as the two sank into the emerald lake, wave after wave of abundant energy was ravenously absorbed by the unconscious pair.

After days of struggle, the nearly withered bodies finally received rain and dew.

Almost as if coordinated by their subconscious, energy surged into their bodies almost madly, and unexpectedly formed a bizarre loop at the point where they touched.

On the day after the two fell unconscious, a blood‑moon night suddenly arrived.

Darkness, endless darkness.

In a daze, a faint, mysterious thread suddenly linked into Fulade's mental space.

Fulade vaguely heard whispers, rustling, indistinct.

Until at a certain moment, the body suddenly relaxed, as if breaking free from a heavy shackles.

At the moment the soul, freed from its bonds, let out a cry, the sound gradually became clear.
