Chapter 15: An Experiment
Hearing this, Weiliya widened her eyes in disbelief and said, "You, how could you know that?"
Fulade gave Weiliya a meaningful look and said, "Because Luxi doesn't have werewolf blood."
"I, I'm not wrong." Weiliya admitted, lowering her head.
"Luxi is the child I had with Henry's father in a moment of youthful impulsiveness; we later cut off all ties."
"Shhh!" Seeing Weiliya eager to explain, Fulade extended a finger and pressed it firmly against her plump lips.
"Don't worry, I don't mean to blame you."
"What I want to tell you is, once Luxi comes of age and fails to awaken her werewolf blood, do you know what that means?" Fulade gazed at Weiliya as he said.
Weiliya shook her head, looking lost and at a loss.
"If Luxi's father, upon discovering she lacks werewolf blood, what would he do?" Fulade stared at Weiliya with a serious expression, continuing to guide her.
"Oh my goodness!"
"He'll surely kill me!!" Weiliya covered her mouth and exclaimed, eyes wide.
"Exactly, even Luxi would die." Fulade added.
"Then, what should I do?" Weiliya said, sounding flustered.
At this point, she clearly hadn't yet come to terms with the fact that she had become a supernatural vampire.
"Don't be nervous, haven't you forgotten? You're no longer an ordinary person." Fulade comforted Weiliya, his nerves somewhat sensitive at the moment.
Upon hearing Fulade's reminder, Weiliya realized that she was now far from ordinary.
This eased the tension in Weiliya's heart involuntarily.
Just as she let out a breath, Weiluona approached Fulade and asked, "Master, how should we handle this werewolf?"
"You decide." Fulade said to Weiliya beside him.
At this point, Weiluona still didn't know the werewolf's true identity, giving Weiliya a doubtful glance.
Although she doubted Fulade's decision, Weiluona would never question any of his decisions.
Clearly, Weiluona had developed blind obedience and trust toward Fulade.
This caused Fulade, when looking at Weiluona, to involuntarily show a satisfied expression.
Several people came to the unconscious werewolf's side; at this moment, Luxi still wanted to try to wake her father, but her mother quickly stopped her.
Luxi looked at her mother, bewildered and not understanding.
Weiliya looked at Luxi, opening and closing her mouth a few times, wanting to speak but holding back; in the end she still didn't tell Luxi the truth about her biological father.
Clearly, Weiliya also found it hard to bring up, not knowing how to explain.
Fulade merely stood aside, watching silently, showing no reaction.
Let them settle their own affairs.
"Have you decided? The decision is now in your hands." Fulade said to Weiliya.
Luxi looked at the two with a puzzled expression, not understanding what they were saying.
However, just as Weiliya approached her father, hesitating whether to strike, Luxi seemed to understand something.
"Mom, what are you going to do?" Luxi asked anxiously.
"I" — Weiliya obviously didn't know how to begin.
All she could say was, "Your father is a werewolf! He will harm us, he will harm the village."
Upon hearing that, Luxi also showed a torn expression.
Just as Weiliya closed her eyes, mustering the courage to strike, Luxi ultimately stopped her.
Watching her father about to meet his end, Luxi gritted her teeth and surged forward to push Weiliya away.
"Sorry, Mom."
"After all, he's my father; I can't, I can't." Luxi shook her head, her emotions quite agitated.
Weiliya watched Luxi, who was defending her father with a determined look, seeming to want to say something, but finally only said, "Luxi, being able to protect your father comforts me; just don't regret today's decision later." Luxi showed a hint of doubt, seeming to sense that her mother's words carried some implied meaning.
However, Luxi, who had saved her father, didn't think much further at this moment.
Weiliya looked at her husband lying on the ground, sighed, and even if she were to strike now, she no longer had the courage to continue.
No matter what, they were still a husband and wife, and some feelings remained.
Fulade merely regarded himself as a bystander, watching the scene with interest.
As for this melodramatic plot, Fulade completely saw himself as an onlooker.
Regarding whether to kill this werewolf, Fulade was indifferent.
However, Fulade leaned toward not killing it; he wanted to see, after his intervention, whether the fates of those involved would change in a few years.
This was quite important information for Fulade.
If they, in the future, survive werewolf attacks without dying,
then it would mean this world can be changed.
If they ultimately cannot escape the fate of death, then it would mean the world will, in the unseen, correct itself back to its original course.
Of course he would certainly intervene in this, because this experiment also represents his future.
Whether in *Dracula Year One* or *Van Helsing*, the vampire Dracula's ending is never good! One could say that upon realizing this place is a dark version of *Little Red Riding Hood*, this plan had already begun to take shape in his heart.
Don't blame Fulade for being heartless; this in itself is a carefully laid plot.
But to say there isn't the slightest stirring of emotion in it would also be unlikely.
Seeing Weiliya's gaze seeking his guidance, Fulade spoke calmly: "Since you've already decided, then prepare for the future response."
Fulade gave Weiliya a meaningful look and said.
Weiliya looked at Fulade's meaningful gaze and of course understood what he meant.
She then nodded, indicating understanding.
Fulade also didn't say much, calmly walked up to the werewolf and stomped down with one foot.
Puchi~!
It seemed something had shattered.
Seeing this, the crowd shuddered involuntarily and instinctively pressed their legs together.
Ahng~!!
The werewolf in a coma let out a miserable cry, woke from the pain, then promptly fainted again from the pain.
Since it was already his, there was no need to keep this hidden danger.
Speaking of which, with the werewolf's self-healing ability, it probably couldn't be repaired, right?
While considering whether to give him another stab, Luxi said, "Fulade brother, this, this isn't right."
Luxi worriedly glanced at her father.
"Luxi, I've spared your father for your sake, understand?" Fulade said seriously, looking at Luxi.
Thinking that Fulade had not killed her father earlier but handed him over to them to deal with, Luxi knew this was already Fulade giving them face.
Feeling Fulade's warm, large hand gently stroking her hair, Luxi also gradually let go of her earlier resentment and acquiesced to the matter.
After all, preserving her father's life was the most important.
Weiliya gave Fulade a slightly annoyed glance, then looked worriedly at her nominal husband.
However, thinking about how he had concealed his werewolf identity from her, Weiliya felt an inexplicable surge of nausea.
Resenting his deception, she also understood why he had been so cold toward her all these years.
